Once at a GB show in germany i told a guy, that i've always loved this kind of music ( also like 7 Seconds, etc. ), got a feeling for it and show a lot of respect for the sXe-scene. He smiled. Than he went to the bar and got a beer for me and a bottle of water for himself... Kids, why can't it always be this way?

A lot of the early hardcore kids identified as skins and were also into OI!; a lot them shaved their heads and didn't look for any particular label. Iron Cross, Agnostic front and NYHC in general is probably your best example. Plenty of them in the early straight edge stuff too, the boston-DC sXe connection. Even if they weren't boots-and-braces anglophiles, it was still fashion to shave and use the label. Skins still come to "normal" HC shows around here, Connecticut...

The skinhead movement was originally just working class people who shaved their heads, then it became identified with punk more with skinheads wearing boots and shaving their heads to make a political statement. Since then Neo-Nazis have adopted this style making everyone believe that all skinheads are racist.

The skinhead movement was originally just working class people who shaved their heads, then it became identified with punk more with skinheads wearing boots and shaving their heads to make a political statement. Since then Neo-Nazis have adopted this style making everyone believe that all skinheads are racist.

The Skin head movement comes from England during the 70's it was regae/ska including bands like the specials/selecta and the beat. it had nothing to do with racism the fans wore shirts bracers, jeans and docmartins with "skin heads" . it only became racist when american neo nazis got hold of it and adopted the fashion about 10 years later maybe, plus the NF in England played a bit of a part in tainting the movement. Punk came after this movement but both come from England

Hating another human is honestly the worst mistake you can make. We're all the same when you break it down. Racism is an extreme example of how we are turned on each other to keep the fear growing about "the other guy"...wake up...realize what is going on around the world and in this very country. one of the best punk/hardcore bands ever... ppl that start asking questions about skinheads and stuff should do their home work and find out that skinheads arent about rascism but blue collar and working class pride. Look up early bands like Bad Brains or a band like Mad Ball.. thats whats hardcore is all about.
Its not about skinny jeans and designer sailor man tattoos.
