damn, i am not going to try looping my glider any time soon.. nice reaction of pulling the reserve. he broke free of the hangstrap because the keel broke or??
It looked liked a hard landing....no flare on the reserve shoot, and two long poles dangling from his feet. Still better than the alternative I suppose!
Omg! Da wär jo fascht en eidgenoss druuf gange!! Und das alles nach em rütli schwur?! Wi oft muess de eidgenosse koenig blocher no säge, das uusländer produkt schrott sind?
Joh, mir eidgenosse kämpfed no für sschwiz! Leck mer am arsch!
I wonder who filmed this, and who the pilot is? Haligrat is e great site... Love to go back there again . But this clip i epic! No HG pilot wants to experience this!
@HOPPERFZR its fairly safe if done correctly need plenty of speed and keep it smooth never try in turbulant air. You are so alive when so close to death. Plus it all adds to the development of better aircraft designs with everyone benefits from ; )
Glad he made it...jeeze that was close!...great filming under pressure!..am just starting out on HG and i def will be getting a backup chute!...i was told that most hang gliders will take 11 g's..easily..so what happened here mate?...was it due to the loop or some other structural defect...thank you for posting
@FSXISCOOL , 6G might be a fairer figure, but the real problem is that he did not have enough speed at the top of the loop for the centrifugal action to swing him round over the glider and he fell on to the underneath of the glider probably creating 2 to 4 negative G and that’s something the glider couldn’t take, being designed to take mainly positive G.
I did some parachute jumps and i enjoyed it alot, but the safety side of things make me too nervious, would hanggliding be a better saver option, but still have the buzz.?
Damn, that was close. He had a system where he separated from the hang glider and then open his reserve chute. It fully inflated very close to the ground. Even base jumps are higher than that altitude. Lucky guy. Good to see he's ok. Safe flying guys. The good thing being alive is that you have plenty of flights ahead of you. Rock on!
ya would like to see your big ass-hole filming one of your best friends about to die would love to see how you would manage the cam u ugly fag learn how to fly before talking shit
actually u dont. what happened here was that the glider broke in half and as soon as parachute opened, it ripped most of the sail off with some structure. But the whole triangle was still with the pilot. safe flying, peace
How could he possibly help someone hundreds of feet in the air. And if you ask, you'll find most adventerous pilots would like to have their crashes filmed, so that others can learn from them.

The glider still came down slower than the pilot.

@budyzr63 only because the pilot and the controlframe weren't attached anymore..

He literally broke the back of the glider.

He obviously did not have enough speed to complete the loop. Most likely his body fell into the crossbar and sail, breaking the glider in half.
