@Astrocatlady life isn't all rainbows and butterflies. That's what they were trying to show with the cow. This is REAL life in a day, not an airbrushed Hollywood writer's version. Pain and suffering happens every single day.

I loved it! It was so unique and visually gorgeous. BUT the slaughter of the cow ruined it for me! I know that's how it's done, but it didn't fit with the rest of the film. Who wants to be blindsided by a poor cow, being shot not once, but twice, suffering & then the gore of it's throat slit?! THAT is the image I take away...how unfortunate, as it's a great film! NOT necessary, imo! Am I alone as to that? Filled with stunning images and all I can see in my mindseye it that poor cow! :-(

The reason why it doesn't show starving and suffering is because that's not what it's all about! It's about humanity and how we all share the same qualities of humanity. Even though we have different cultures and everything we are united by the simple fact that we are human. And you never kno they might have some footage showing suffering it's just not in the trailer :P
