I have learned from a tattoo school, but it wasn't two weeks, it was a full year. Learning everything about sterilization, and blood born pathogens, to inks, and machines, and after care, and proper consent forms, and so much more, i know there is so much more i can and will learn, but that year has taught me allot.
I honestly cant stand scratchers or tattooIST bc all they see is money money money I have the utmost respect for the ARTIST who also happens to create dermagraphic art for the sake of creating art I had a apprenticeship but I left bc I wasn't learning shit just cleaning they said I would have to bust my ass off for months before they would teach me " little by little" fuck that im a free spirit artist. anyways thanks for your channel hopefully it will aid me in my journey
damn right evil ass tattoo schools, maybe we could cut a deal with al queda see if they cant send a couple crazies to take care of that wretched place.
@DeathRow760 please read what you wrote and then using a detail full sentence explain what your talking about. i have no idea what you mean by the step
I am not saying you don't have a point but why don't you look at some of the sights before you start talking shit about the show. Now if you have looked at the sights offered as per TLC you will notice none of them say anything about becoming a professional tattoo artist. They state that you will have "knowledge of tattooing that will allow for safe, successful implantation of permanent tattoos. Full explanation and understanding of operating a tattoo business. Starting a career portfolio"
@rhuba2003 i spent 5325 bucs to get licensed about 7 yrs ago.they didnt send me any thing whn i was done then they up and was gone...im on my 9th yr and still dont trust any of those sites..its all bullshit
I can't really boycott TLC since I don't have cable, or a television so count me out on that aspect.
I did, however, watch this show twice to let it all really sink in. I'm glad I took the time because now I can honestly say that this show, and the school, are seriously frightening. If anyone has half a brain, they will certainly steer clear of schools. But, it's those others whom I am afraid of.
The infamous TLfuckinC. Honestly, with the changes in the industry, the person seeking a tattoo that looks artistically correct are gonna find that place to go. The ones that arent, are gonna find their place to go. Either way, every doodler and art student is gonna drop everything and go running to this place and straight into business being a douche skipping the school of hard knocks. And they're gonna do it fresh out thinking they know it all, IN 2 SHORT EASY WEEKS for just $4995.95 +snacks
I saw this show come on TLC a few days ago! and I watched like 3 mins of it and turned it off! I can't believe the shit people are coming up with these days! I mean yeah I know you can go to tattoo school etc.. and apprentice, but 99.9% of the time is nothing but a scam and a BIG waste of thousands of dollars!
And where did these artist learn who think that they can teach others?!?! they learned in their basement & doing them on friends after months of practicing before really doing a tattoo.
look at the amount of highly regarded artists who started by scratching, i'm scratching myself at the moment, i could hav done an apprenticeship in a shop in my town, but i wont go to that particular shop for a tattoo never mind an apprenticeship. i read as much as i could and watched as many vids as i could b4 starting, yeah i'v made mistakes but is their a professional out there who has'nt, everybody i hav tattoo'd has commented on the fact of how ocd i am bout cleanin and wrapping my gear
@cobrakoi1 the point i am making is not against mature self taught folks its against rip off con scam tattoo schools , they are just as bad as a poor shop who robs a apprentice and doesnt teach shit , an apprenticeship is a risky undertaking , thats why i give away all i can , those who are responsible will rise to the top
@TATTOOTRAINING Well said, i know u put up wit a lot of dicks puttin u down 'headshot dickface' 2 name just 1, i'v watched every1 of ur vids at least once and u'v been a gr8 help, i'd love to hav a respected artist to apprenticeship under but the standard is so crap in my country it's hard to find a good artist never mind get an apprenticeship off 1, i'm 2 hotheaded to be a second rate artist's bitch, i'd only end up knocking him out. It's hard on ur own but i will make it, with alot of effort
@cobrakoi1 plenty of great artist have been self taught and with the giant amount of information available for free today it is easier than ever to be self taught and really good, practicing other mediums of art and repetition in tattooing wil make you better faster everything else is just book learnin
While I would concede to the idea that ultimately these schools are not worth the cost, I feel strongly that the opposition from professionals is motivated by greed. Obviously you sir I do not count among these capitalist pigs, I sincerely thank you for your free and informative videos.
Artists create their work for the world....
Professionals produce their product for the client....
Safety as well as quality are essential yes, but are they journeys or goals? At what expense are we pros?
@Themrwinstonsmith Totally have to disagree. I am an apprentice right now and it's not like these students are stealing away good clients from the pros. it's more that as an industry, we want to make sure that people understand that tattooing, like any trade, takes time and patience. Safety is not a journey or a goal, it is a requirement of the job. They just aren't being taught the basics, it's like, gimme your money, here is a tattoo "gun", now you can do this out of your home. Not good enough
@downtownlocke I respect your desire to do right and I wish you success in your carrier. I agree that these schools are as motivated by greed as those who oppose them. I think however safety is a journey, BBP training doesn't mean your growth in consciousness and practice regarding safe action comes to a halt. Respectfully, you refer to tattooing as an industry, a trade, and make claims to what is not good enough to be in the club. I must advocate for freedom here. Peace to you and yours. =]
As a professional tattoo artists myself now for a little over 8 years i really see no problem with shows or places like this. Anyone who thinks they can be a pro at anything in 2 weeks is just stupid. But it's also fair to say that in 2 weeks of training you could learn a fair amount about the basics of tattooing. Now as far as the contamination issues. I imagine just like anything else it all depends on the artist, or shop that you go to. Just cause your a pro doesn't mean your clean....
All of the ink shows are so gay. Its more about the drama than the craft. I'm with you tattootraining, no more TLC. Any way, I always thought that one never stops learning and improving the art.
i looked into one of those thing once but after thinking it over and seeing the quality of work these people were doing, i noticed so many cross contamination violations during thier course video. the best way to learn is to apprentice. aprenticing is hard to do. i do not have the time to apprentice. i have been studying for about 3 months and have put a few on myself. i regret 2 and really like 1 of them. i do not suggest buying a tattoo shop in a box. shit ink and chinese machines. do homework
@xXGreyWolf maybe but it is still preying on the young and ignorant , and the worst part is that tlc is using it as a tv show. now masses of stupid kids will be taken to the cleaners. its beyond time to boycott tlc. i dont watch the la ink or ny ink its just fagots and fake drama , but this is beyond wrong . tlc is the same channel that airs toddlers and tiaras , sick mothers and pedophiles . i wish i could push a button and blow up all the tv satilites

@quincysmamak well if 2 weeks cost 5 grand you must have spend half a million bucks to learn less than what i teach for free. FAIL
