I would have used a parachute. They are alot easier to make than your design. I have made a parachute, put an egg under it, and dropped it off the roof my house. And guess what? The egg didn't have one scratch on it.

cool the egg actually survived :D, i'm just snooping around looking at these videos since i'm going to have to do this for next Thursday. I'm thinking of adding a parachute since we're going to drop it from the top of a water tower =/

to rain on your parade, but i think a parachute wouldn't work...i'm picturing it not slowing it down enuff or falling awkwardly to the side. i believe this idea will work, just make the egg holder stronger and the box much bigger.

Hey, in our class we have to make sumthing to make the egg stay intact from a 2 story drop and its gotta be the size of a shoebox, got any tips :D

wow so high try 4 stories the egg would have never survived because as an object falls it accelerates and the rubber bands would have received 4 times the g force allowing the egg to hit the bottom of the box causing the egg to suffer extreme damage and therefore smash

i'm referring to your ability to use a computer with an absolute lack of reading comprehension. for the third time....the experiment only required 8-10 feet. if were going to drop it from the height you stated then we would have made the box much larger, the rubber bands greater in number, and the egg would have still survived.

and you would still suck at reading comprehension.

wow. now theres only 2 comments. I agree it wasnt high enough. cause that unless you were standing on top of somthing then it wouldve been high enough.

again, the assignment/experiment only called for the height we used. the design would have worked even off of a much higher height.

the assigned experiment called for a drop of 8 to 10 feet. had it been a taller hieght, we would have simply used a bigger box but with the same design.
