  • wow !, such a clean piston cannon.

  • did you solder it ?

can you please post a tutorial on how to construct the piston?

    thanks

  • @hybridpyrotech Everything you need to know about piston valves and all other kinds of Spud gun related stuff can be found on the spudfiles forums.

  • @Spudfarm1 , right , but do you have a link to it?

  • @hybridpyrotech

Go to google and search for "spudfiles" then enter the site and click "Forum" when you have done that you just browse around to find what you are looking for.

  • did you solder it ?

  • Nice speed out of that piston gun. It seems like the piston is opening very quickly with just a ball valve. Have you tried using an air gun for the trigger instead of the ball valve? You might get even better performance.

  • @jrobmccoy I did try using an airgun on another piston design for the same gun but it did not work to well.

Ball valves are better since they have MUCH bigger air flow. The one I am using here is a 1/2" one.

  • @Spudfarm1 well you are incompetent then, i made my fist piston valve and totally outmatches the ball valve, piston valve has more airflow more then valve and in faster time, i had ball valve and the penetration at the same PSI is 2, 3 time smor epowerful

  • Nice clean build. Any chance of a How To on the piston build? Been looking for a good design...

  • @VerbotenDingleberry

I might be able to get a slideshow video with text in the weekend.

If you understand the basics the pictures should be enough, I use a simple but very strong piston. I could have made it lighter though but I would have to trade durability and it could destroy the pilot valve.

  • Oh, I understand piston valves (see my vids on 2" porting in 3" Tee, PVC) but the materials for a good steel, small calibre valve always seem to elude me (i.e. I can never find the hose barb most people seem to use as a sealing face for the piston). I'm hoping I can get the same parts you used. Looks like I have to learn to braze copper pipe now!

  • @VerbotenDingleberry

I am basicly just using a (from head to about middle of long bolt) small washer-sealing face-big washer (housing diameter to make it stiff)-nut. that's the piston itself really. the back of the bolt allways rest inside the pilot valve threads to guide it straight back. I have a big piece of rubber to use as a bumper at the back of the piston. saturday I hope I can get you some pictures.

  • @Spudfarm1 ya i use the same design and i think is way better then a ll the hot glue ones they suck

  • @VerbotenDingleberry u don't need hose barb just you a copper coupling and inside it ex-posy a 1 inch copper barrel until it reatches the middle of the TEE, and thats your sealing face easy

  • very awsome:D i got an homemade airgun sniper :D also full copper build , i got an 8 mm barrel. shoots really hard and long distance straigt. i mostly shoot on 12 bar:D funny stuff

  • @PyrotechnicsNL It is pretty fun, I hope I can regain more interest for cannons really. It is more fun and much safer then my other hobby.

  • nice!

  • @KMnO4dalla

    Takk

  • How did you made that ?

    5* and favorite :D
