On his first audition he came out in a crumpled business suit and the crowd was mocking him like they did Susan and America was worse, they started booing him, but instead of running off the stage, he kept singing and his voice is a God given gift that turned the crowd 180 degrees to where they were giving him a standing ovation like they did Susan. I, too, had damp eyes as I watched the original talent video. I don't lose myself in theater, in drama, but I lost myself in Susan and I only wish I had a record like this of my very first reaction.

LOL- I'm always dragging my wife in to watch videos on YouTube. In fact, the first night I watched the Susan Boyle video, I had stopped at McDonald's on the way home from work--they have a flat screen and I saw a brief headline on Fox-- When I got home, I pulled it up on YouTube, watched it through, and then went to get my wife--lol, it was almost midnight. I'm a 46 year old man and am "reduced" to a bubbling mess every time I see her video. She must win and sing before Queen Elizabeth!!

I stumbled upon your video of your family watching the Susan Boyle video and I had to write because I did the exact same thing with my husband, down to watching his reaction, etc. and giving him a subtle play by play. I usually give him the play by play because he doesn't pay attention as much as I think he should, smile
Anyway, I found the video on Sunday 12th from twitter. I watched it at 9am, and it simply brought me to tears. If you can imagine, I'm half awake, having a coffee and crying my eyes out at 9am Sunday morning. Actually I think I've watched it a dozen times since.
Anyway, just thought it was funny how similar my experience was to yours. Of course the same thing probably happened with 80% of the married couples in the US.

I got chills watching that beautiful Lady going out there knowing everybody was going to laugh at her. And cried like so many others watching her watching the judges fighting back the tiers. yup go back and forth from the dream to cry me a river, late last night I did it to Jon again and said, "listen to this", should have taped that too because he blown over again, he just gushes the compliments of a professional musician, things like her tone and, I'm like, but listen to the song! I, too, had damp eyes as I watched the original talent video. I don't lose myself in theater, in drama, but I lost myself in Susan and I only wish I had a record like this of my very first reaction.

I've watched the Susan Boyle video countless times, and it affects me the same way every time.
Elation for her, triumph for those who now know that dreams never really have to be dismissed, and of course, the tear in my eye each time I watch it.
Now comes this video you have created.

LOL- I'm always dragging my wife in to watch videos on YouTube. In fact, the first night I watched the Susan Boyle video, I had stopped at McDonald's on the way home from work--they have a flat screen and I saw a brief headline on Fox-- When I got home, I pulled it up on YouTube, watched it through, and then went to get my wife--lol, it was almost midnight. I'm a 46 year old man and am "reduced" to a bubbling mess every time I see her video. She must win and sing before Queen Elizabeth!!

must admit... I'm a little older than Susan... don't go for much makeup and all that stuff, what you see is what you get with me, so she's my kind of lady.
I was born in Germany that's why the spelling of my name with a K ... I always wanted to name my first daughter Korina... but hubby was not too keen and she was named Lisa instead, but you have a beautiful name... your daughter is sweet too, was great watching you all watching this.

I usually give him the play by play because he doesn't pay attention as much as I think he should, smile

Anyway, I found the video on Sunday 12th from twitter. I watched it at 9am, and it simply brought me to tears. If you can imagine, I'm half awake, having a coffee and crying my eyes out at 9am Sunday morning. Actually I think I've watched it a dozen times since.
Anyway, just thought it was funny how similar my experience was to yours. Of course the same thing probably happened with 80% of the married couples in the US.

I actually watched the video fully knowing that she turned out to do a fabulous job, and even KNOWING it going in, I still had a lump in my throat after only a few seconds of her song

At first I thought that it was going to be another "car crash" performance but... well... Her performance speaks for itself.
I heard her sing Cry Me a River tonight which is one of my favourite songs and again, she's simply brilliant.

what a very very strangely phenomenal effect she (or perhaps this entire "scenario") is having on.. the world! I think you folks demonstrated the essense of the effect we all feel... purely a delighted joy at the realization that common people have a value much higher than mere "common". Sure Miss Susan sings great. But so do maaany other "common" people. But she is personifying the essense of validating that value. You go, girl!! Greetings from East Chicago, Indiana at the southern tip of Lake Michigan. It was a wonderful family video. My wife of 33 years is the very same way. Especially now that the kids are all gone, she's always looking to elicit some spontaneous reaction from me. She'll set up some unusual situation and then enjoy every second as I unknowingly react to whatever she has dreamt up. I guess that's why I love her so much. It was wonderful seeing your faces as you reacted to what you were seeing and hearing. I think what I find refreshing about this voice...is that it is just so sweet and clear.
