  • I love your video and have watched it many times. Here in the UK we were all stunned by Susan's performance and it's great seeing the impact she had with you also. Many thanks for your video, a lovely piece of film.

    WORD.

  • fyi: that's my friend, Kambale Musavila, activist with Friends of the Congo, speaking in the last moments of the film. I'm posting a Prayer Request for him tonight. He's being intimidated by a very large mining organization with conflict mineral interest in the Congo. I pray that he is protected and supported as a peace activist. He's almost finished writing his book and I pray it is well received. thank you.

  • Benga Nzambe!

  • What a great video and thanks for sharing!!

    God Bless.

  • Approved

  • Hahaha!! I like the way the little girl doesn't quite get it! She doesn't realize that moments like this are so rare that after many years we almost forget how wonderful things can be.

Nice video! Popped into the favourites!

  • I love this video. I love how Susan has affected us all. How she has affected the entire world. Seeing the woman in this video gives me hope. I love how excited she is to share this experience with others. This is what Susan has given us all. How can one explain it? It's unbelievable!!

  • Besides the orginial performance by Susan, this is my most fovorite video of your lovely family moment to share with al of us.

  • My family had the same experience watching Ms Boyle sing. Great video!

  • Great watching your family look at it. I did the same with my wife and young daughted and we all shed a tear!!! You look like Hilary Clinton, Cheers from Ireland

  • The U.S has a similar story, Donald Braswell came in 4th on AGT last year. On his first audition he came out in a crumpled business suit and the crowd was mocking him like they did Susan and America was worse, they started booing him, but instead of running off the stage, he kept singing and his voice is a God given gift that turned the crowd 180 degrees to where they were giving him a standing ovation like they did Susan. Check out Your Raise Me Up on Youtube. Very inspiring too!

  • I enjoyed watching this video as much as susan boyles. Thanks for posting it. I liked it when your hubby asked...Who's Elaine Paige? That was funny!

  • What a charismatic family - How wonderdul that you want your Husband to enjoy this and be touched by Susan's story as you have..

BTW.. Elaine Paige is a British broadway star..

    Stay happy smiley people!

  • What a beautiful family moment. Thank you for sharing.

  • With all the low class acts that are so abundant on YouTube, how nice it is to see such a decent and wonderful family. It sort of reinforces what the song is all about. Your family's reaction is as lovely as Susan's song.

  • This message was for spanish speaking people, but I will translate for you. There's an old saying "never judge a book by it's cover", nothing more true that this example of the very talented Susan Boyle. This lady with her innate talent has driven me to tears with ther sensible and soul driven singing. Go Susan and thanks to this family for sharing with us your spontaneous reactions. God Bless you always. Ana from Puerto Rico

  • This is how, I think, many people reacted when they saw her for the first time.... Me too.

    Thanx for sharing... From Denmark

  • Thank you for posting this video. It was lovely to see your husbands response. We have watched the original so many times, and still smile. Thats what happens, she makes us smile. Well done.

    Bless you all.

  • watch her sing cry me a river

  • My husband saw it on a tiny TV at work and came home talking about it. Thanks for sharing! Nashville, Tennessee, USA

  • Thankyou for sharing your lovely vid. Ive been overwhelmed with the response Susan has received. My mother in law watched the programme when it was shown on british telly and she said to me " they are all taking the mickey, wait till she sings - that will shut them up" (she has saw susan perform at local functions - we live 3 miles from susan). My mother in law is normally right LOL - but she was dead right this time.

    Best wishes from scotland

  • I absolutely loved your video. It was similar in our house. My husband "wasn't bothered" he said but watched it to humour me, as Susan started to sing even he, ex-soldier of long time standing, was moved to tears.

  • This is really a case of what is now over 100 million people joining hands across the world in response to music and a special moment regardless of race, culture, colour and faith, and through a recognition of a "Susan" in all of us For just a little while we have been able to forgot these dark times of recession and the loss of our loved ones in the ever continuing conflicts thoughout the world, Susan has lifted our hearts. Thank you for showing us your family video. "Bows to Susan"

    The Dragon

  • I'm not sure, I tuned in to listen to the performance when there were (only?) 3 million views...

  • I've watched the Susan Boyle video countless times, and it affects me the same way every time.

Elation for her, triumph for those who now know that dreams never really have to be dismissed, and of course, the tear in my eye each time I watch it.

Now comes this video you have created.

    I really enjoyed it.

Coming from your husband, especially with his background, "Extraordinary" means so much more than it would from most folks.

I appreciate you making/uploading this. Thank you.

    :-)

  • Hello from Burton, Michigan. I loved your video! The reaction from your husband is priceless. What a nice family you have. I have viewed the Susan audition more than 40 times and I cry every time. Her story is so inspiring. An angel from God, sent to a troubled world, just in the neck of time!

  • what a lovely family! thanks

  • LOL- I'm always dragging my wife in to watch videos on YouTube. In fact, the first night I watched the Susan Boyle video, I had stopped at McDonald's on the way home from work--they have a flat screen and I saw a brief headline on Fox-- When I got home, I pulled it up on YouTube, watched it through, and then went to get my wife--lol, it was almost midnight. I'm a 46 year old man and am "reduced" to a bubbling mess every time I see her video. She must win and sing before Queen Elizabeth!!

  • Great video :-)

I published it on my facebook :-)

    Petter from Norway

  • Thanks for sharing your video ! My wife called me in to our living room when the show was on TV and Susan walked on to the stage. I had a very similar reaction to her as your husband ! Fantastic to listen to.... Take Care

  • Thanks for sharing.

I'm always dragging my husband to the computer to look at things too.

I've been on his back to come watch Susan's video since last week. LOL

He still hasn't seen it. All my kids (and theri friends) have.

    Her voice is absolutely captivating.

I LOVE the whole 'fairtale story' that's being playing out. It makes a person feel really good. And it's a nice changeI to all the doom & gloom that seems to taking place every day.

    Again, thanks for sharing!

  • Hey, loved your video. What a great family you appear. Cheers from David from Scotland :-)

  • Thankyou for sharing your husbands first view of this.... mine is in the merchant navy at sea, can't wait to show him when he gets home on Thursday, he is on his way to Singapore, don't know if he will have heard of this while at sea or not.

  • must admit... I'm a little older than Susan... don't go for much makeup and all that stuff, what you see is what you get with me, so she's my kind of lady.

I was born in Germany that's why the spelling of my name with a K ... I always wanted to name my first daughter Korina... but hubby was not too keen and she was named Lisa instead, but you have a beautiful name... your daughter is sweet too, was great watching you all watching this.

    Kind regards

  • MYSTERY2YOU Your family response to Susan... Your family response to Susan...

I was just watching more of Susan. For updates and such... I can not wait to see her next performance. I am in hopes that she stays with the same type of genre. I think she sounds like an Angel.

I have to tell you when I watched your video I even cried. Ha ha.

  • I stumbled upon your video of your family watching the Susan Boyle video and I had to write because I did the exact same thing with my husband, down to watching his reaction, etc. and giving him a subtle play by play. I usually give him the play by play because he doesn't pay attention as much as I think he should, smile

  • Anyway, I found the video on Sunday 12th from twitter. I watched it at 9am, and it simply brought me to tears. If you can imagine, I'm half awake, having a coffee and crying my eyes out at 9am Sunday morning. Actually I think I've watched it a dozen times since.

Anyway, just thought it was funny how similar my experience was to yours. Of course the same thing probably happened with 80% of the married couples in the US.

    Linda

  • You know what was priceless? You know what was priceless?

    Watching you guys watch Susan.

I truly hope your marriage is a good one, because looking at you both, I see the love!

Oh, and yes, Susan is sensational...and the preconceived notions that most of the audience and the judges had, are shameful. Hopefully they learned a valuable life lesson.

Best to you and your family.

    Tony

  • allegrazie Greetings from Texas--- Greetings from Texas---

korinakorina, I love your vid: We did the same scenario here. My husband--- the musician in the house--- then sent her on to a couple of hundred of his closest friends, etc., etc.

PM'ing to tell you--- and this is meant as a compliment--- that you remind me very much of the film I've seen of soprano Jeanette MacDonald.

  • Vashon Vashon

Was surprised to see that you are close. I have an old friend, Bob Krinsky, who has lived on the island for years.

  • Thank you Thank you

Thank you so much for posting your husband's reaction to the Susan Boyle performance. I had the same reaction myself, though I wasn't fully able to "keep myself composed" with a little throat-clearing as your husband did.

I actually watched the video fully knowing that she turned out to do a fabulous job, and even KNOWING it going in, I still had a lump in my throat after only a few seconds of her song

  • I know.................I cried a bit watching his reaction remembering my first reaction to it..........except I was alot more weepy. Good Job filming this....

  • Wonderful reaction, same as I had, only I cried a bit more. Just lovely to see someone who is so close it it on a routine basis (music) be as enchanted and happy about it as I.

  • Haha! You have a lovely family! Nice video btw.

  • Gorgeous video. You are generous to share it. You are a loving wife and you seem like such a HAPPY family. I wish we could be your friends. My hubby got teary eyed. I cried. And it uplifts me every time I watch it. Love to you. To Susan, to everyone that has come together in enjoying her spirit, her fantastic spark. Simon has a good sense of humor. Jon a classical violinist? WOW!! I envy that!! Wow!

  • You have a lovely family.

    Nice vid.

  • there is hope

  • Every time I hear her I get goosebumps!

  • Hi there ... don't know your name ... but just wanted to say thanks for posting. Susan is truly a wonderful inspiration to us all. Again, thanks!!!!

    Johnny

    (Syracuse, NY, USA)

  • Dear Korina! Thank you for posting this nice video! It seems You have a fantastic family with real feeling in the hearts. I was smiling when saw the reactions all of You! Thank you from Hungary!

  • Priceless:) Thanks so much for posting this.

  • That was great, i was in awe too much to have a reaction, u dont get the chance to see something that great in real life very often, susans gift to us is the opposite of all the bad in the world

  • It's other person's great moment in life, but watching this it seems like it's mine and everybody's great moment. Absolutely stunning. I'm filled with positivity! It gave energy to everyone, made forget tough times we have.

    Erki from Estonia (Northern Europe)

  • It seems that your reaction was the same as mine; I missed the show when it aired here in the UK, but someone posted a link on Facebook and I'm glad I followed it...

At first I thought that it was going to be another "car crash" performance but... well... Her performance speaks for itself.

I heard her sing Cry Me a River tonight which is one of my favourite songs and again, she's simply brilliant.

    Good luck Susan Boyle! :)

  • My sister urged me to watch Susan Boyle and I put it off because I was just so busy. Now I am sorry about it. I got chills watching that beautiful Lady going out there knowing everybody was going to laugh at her. And cried like so many others watching her watching the judges fighting back the tiers. You are a god send angel Susan. I cant believe the guys are not standing in-line by your door. Whats wrong with you man out there? Are you blind?

  • Korina look on you tube for susan singing cry me a river. If you already have,nt heard it . You ARE in for a treat

  • yup go back and forth from the dream to cry me a river, late last night I did it to Jon again and said, "listen to this", should have taped that too because he blown over again, he just gushes the compliments of a professional musician, things like her tone and, I'm like, but listen to the song! Yeah, she's inspiring me to take the plunge and pull my DREAM off the back burner before it's too late for me, lol!

  • I too think it was one of the most extraordinary things I have witnessed, and this video captures the reaction perfectly of those seeing it for the first time.

    Frank

  • Korina, I've watched this video 3 times and keep trying to figure out Who u look like (us seemed familiar) Now i got it..u look like Virginia Madsen!!! Again, thanks for a poignant view of your beautiful family. Go Susan!!!!

  • Dear Susan,

If you are out there, thank you so much for the gift of happiness you brought to my family. I am totally grateful and in awe of you.

    In Sincere Appreciation,

    Korina

  • awesome :)

  • "who's elaine page?" lol thats exactly what I first thought when I saw it for the first time

  • I can see a lovely happy family.

  • Thats great!!

You have a lovely smile :-)

    best wishes from England

  • just to thank you mrs knudson for posting this video -- i enjoyed watching your reactions to as you say an "extraordinary " performer--- best wishes

  • loved this!

  • Your reaction video made me cry like the orginal...wonderful!

  • I cried watching THIS. A week later and probably over a hundred views and it still hits me the same way. There is something so triumphant about this performance. So victorious, so perfect.

  • Hope Eternal~~~No kidding! If you ask someone who Elaine Page is, they might know. But if you them who Susan Boyle is, they will definitely know!

korina~~~thanks for sharing this with us. Although I didn't get my husbands reaction on tape, it was very similar to yours. Susan is just amazing and a force to behold!

  • ahah priceless!the smiles...

  • "He's in love with her!" LOL

That made me laugh so hard!

I have to admit,I envy the happy atmosphere you seem to have in your family! I wish you all the best!

  • That was so sweet of you to share this moment with us all. Thanks so much!

  • I relate to to your hubbies reaction, ours was similar. She's something special....regards from Aus.

  • Ok, I loved that your husband said, "Who's Elaine Page?" That made me laugh. I guess Elaine is not that popular after all. Hehe

  • what a very very strangely phenomenal effect she (or perhaps this entire "scenario") is having on.. the world! I think you folks demonstrated the essense of the effect we all feel... purely a delighted joy at the realization that common people have a value much higher than mere "common". Sure Miss Susan sings great. But so do maaany other "common" people. But she is personifying the essense of validating that value. You go, girl!! We ALL want to see this little lady experience massive success :)

  • I am delighted to see that one little voice from one wee Scottish woman has brought so many people happiness! I think the reactions encapsulated in this video clip were repeated in homes across the country (UK) and also now, thanks to the Internet, across the world.

That is just what we all need right now !

  • You have obviously taken a risk with this video: you have shared a wonderful, personal moment with us here on youtube. I was touched and gratified to know that I am not the only soft hearted man in the world (and yes I, too, cry while watching Extreme Makeover home edition.) I hope that you can maintain your sense of dignity in spite of the inevitable cruel cowards using the anonymity of their user names to hurl easy pot shots at the innocent.

    Thank you again.

  • Ahh I love your video. The little glances you give your husband, waiting for his reaction are so sweet! I can't wait to hear to what Susan sings in the next round.

Thanks for posting, While watching this I was also thinking what a lovely family you seem. x

  • For me the best part is when Jon opens his eyes a tiny little wider when Susan begins to sing...

  • Now I know that there is a God in heaven. - Albert Einstein (after watching violin virtuoso Yehudi Menuhin at a recital) After watching Susan's video about 20 times and yours about 7, all I can say is DITTO to Einstein!!! You seem to have a very happy family. Congratulations and thank you. Peace.

  • Very cute video, I wish I would have thought to record first reactions!

  • my jaw dropped like Amanda after 3 seconds she sang. God bless her.

  • Greetings from East Chicago, Indiana at the southern tip of Lake Michigan. It was a wonderful family video. My wife of 33 years is the very same way. Especially now that the kids are all gone, she's always looking to elicit some spontaneous reaction from me. She'll set up some unusual situation and then enjoy every second as I unknowingly react to whatever she has dreamt up. I guess that's why I love her so much. Good luck and thank you so much for sharing your video with us. God Bless.

  • It was wonderful seeing your faces as you reacted to what you were seeing and hearing. I think what I find refreshing about this voice...is that it is just so sweet and clear. There is no need of riff, trill, somersault after nauseating riff, trill, somersault...The song is presented as intended from the heart and deepest part of her...wonderful!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this moment with us. With the difficult time our world is going through right now it is great that this seemingly ordinary human being can bring so much joy to so many of us. I was having coffee in a cafe this morning and the guy behind the counter was urging his co-worker to watch it, he said he had watched 10 times already - Melbourne Australia

  • love the way the mrs took the mr's cap off-

greetings from the Eastern Shore of VA, USA

    hope Susan wins!
