This one and Night time were the songs wich lead me to be a proud fan of Killing Joke. Simply awesome, i havent found anything similar... This is really original.
Quite a lot is said in the press about the jokes influential status amongst the industrial and hair metal groups, however i think this is the other way around as the joke have gone much heavier and industrial since the mid 90s.
night time, brighter that a thousand sons , and the killing joke album remain a benchmark for me... although the last two albums are some of the best they have done, confirming for me that the joke know their audience.
an amazing album and a great track - From the amazing opening guitar riff - the pumping bass and tribal drums show what males KJ one of the most underrated artists ever - legendary - i remmeber seeing them live on this tour - RIP Raven
I still think Night time is one of the most underrated albums album & Kings & Queens bridges that gap between rock and goth & punk - imagination and the unmistakable power of the JOKE - RIP Raven - just getting ready to go out but this has me dancing in my pants !!!!!
Quite possibly the most underrated band in history and one of the MOST influential. NIN, Metallica, Nirvana, Soundgarden all were influenced by these guys. Underrated by the general public I would say, since most rock musicians of the 80's and 90's loved them, and most critics rated their stuff highly. But then the general public has all the musical taste of a pet rock.

KJ's guitar sound reminds me of 'Exercise One' by Joy Division, great none the less.
