  • what are you supposed to do? The girl is dying. The only way to save her is defibulate but it could almost kill her, It would be a terrible situation.

  • Wow so wat r we suppose to do when somebody has a seizure

  • malpractice malpractice malpractice....lol that's all i was thinking this whole video.

  • look, I understand prime time TV getting all the medical things wrong, but this is discovery health guys. =/

  • EVERYTHING THEY DID WAS WRONG!

You do not hold a seizing patient down. Place her on side-lying to avoid aspiration and wait until seizing stops. When using paddles to asses a rhythm, place is on the skin not over clothing. When defibrillating using your Philips Heartstart XL, that recommends 150 J for an unsynchronized cardioversion (defib). Place the paddles on the right spots as well (apex and sternum). After you shock, start CPR until ROSC (return of spontaneous circulation) is achieved.

  • so they killed her?

  • probably, defibrillation has been shrouded in myth for decades, it works by abruptly stopping a heart that is in an unsurvivable rhythm in the hope that it will resume normally. asystole better known as the flatline signal means no electrical activity, they don't defib that, it dosn't work they treat that with drugs and chest compressions until they get a rhythm that can be shocked. it slays me how long the defib, flatline myth has been in tv and movies as a theatrical tool.

  • Well, they killed her some more! She was already dead with VF. With asystole, she's deader! Sounds cold? Well, thanks to the idiots who do not know their stuff. Take ACLS!

  • could least possition the paddles.... golly tv so terrified you might see a pair of breasts.

back in the 70s 80s they wernt so anal

  • its a load of shit anyway

  • her mouth is still closed tight even after defibed, what a bad actress

  • She is acting. The show is a re-enactment, as I posted above, of actual ER cases.
