@vansrok1 How the hell can you "hate" what they've changed into? They've got the same middle finger up at dip-shits in the ruling class, same warnings against the accelerating repercussions of our twisted values and societal dependencies, & same drive and intelligence in songwriting. It's just not the same decade anymore... Get over it. I wonder what you ever listened to Bad Religion for. You probably "hate" what Propagandhi, Good Riddance, Rise Against, and all the rest turned into also.
@edvolve Sorry I offended you dude. I was reffering to their sound on "How Could Hell Be Any Worse" his vocal style is completely different than any of the other albums. I'm not saying they sold out or that they're not punk anymore. Also, I never listened to Propaghandi, Good Riddance, or Rise Against.
@edvolve I have listened to them all, but am not a not huge fan. See I like my punk in the form of Minutemen, Fugazi, The Clash, Husker Du, X, Germs, Bad Brains, Circle Jerks etc. etc.
@joebeasley3 You've got my attention &I'm open to the label having seen premadonna bands corrupt themselves as their mainstream crowds swell. However, you better site some real world evidence 4the stale and tired title of sellout. I don't want to hear about increased popularity or musical style evolving over the years;none of that qualifies a band as sellout. I saw em with B.Rlgn a week ago & they had a pretty big FUCK U message to power hungry criminals who run shit. No sellouts in my book.
@nazaxprime You mean a t-shirt with a huge bold black crucifix emblazoned with an even bigger bolder red "null" circle. It seems to me, and maybe you'd agree given your love of the core, that we need a lot more "businesses" like that.
I'd agree that message isn't EVERYTHING too--it's just nearly everything from where we are sitting at this point in history. "We're only gonna die, from our own arrogance" gets right to the heart of it just as "time will tell, as their world crumbles to hell" does
It's amazing that THIS is how they started out: it doesn't even sound like the same band, which shows how much they've evolved over the years without losing how good their music is.
holy shit this song is deep

@vansrok1 Cool then. BTW... you should really check out some of those bands I mentioned in the last e-mail.
Completely insane bands you'll dig if you like Bad Religion.

@edvolve Well, from one Cleric to another, to be fair, I gave up on BR for quite a while after I FINALLY saw them.
Saying fuck you to selling out during a show doesn't exempt anyone from being a sellout... though I suppose it helps.
IDK about selling out... but all these assholes are megacorp now and I don't see where that needs to be debated.
THEY may never and will not ever be this again but Punk is immortal.
I still wish I had made one of these earlier shows.

@edvolve Even if you were right, there is nothing wrong with hating what they became.
message isn't EVERYTHING especially when its ridden for X years... and their style has changed, for better or worse.
Personally I love this, and I don't really give a shit about the new stuff... to each their own.
Some new will grow on me here and there, but I'll probably skip most of it for the core stuff.
I really hated them when I tried to buy a T-shirt and they couldn't be "more than a business".
Fuck'em.

That pretty much cuts to the core of the paradox that pissed me off to no end.
Whats the deal with all these cores?
