  • the 2002-2011 Chevrolet Aveo is assembled in China: Shanghai Colombia: Bogotá Ecuador: Quito India: Halol Kazakhstan: Ust-Kamenogorsk Mexico: San Luis Potosi Poland: Warsaw South Korea: Bupyong Thailand: Rayong Ukraine: Zaporizhia Vietnam: Hanoi
  • Why do I want a Aveo now?

  • @GmTruckCarLove Need to remember the Aveo doesn't have side curtain airbags neither does it have side bolster airbags either.. Just front driver and passenger airbags.

  • @adiosk8r91 I don't. I was being sarcastic. I have a taste in cars lol.

  • @GmTruckCarLove Alright good lol I was gonna say that Aveo has no styling what so ever haha

  • Why would any car in today's day and time not be standard with anti-lock brakes?

  • The Chevrolet Aveo is a car for smart people who knows that all you need from a car is for it to get you from Point A to Point B. All for just $14,599.

  • good review, i like it

  • Discontinued...

  • Premium? Quiet? I don't think so. There is nothing premium or quiet about the thrashy Aveo.

  • I cannot see paying over 11 grand for a loaded one. So many better cars can be had for 15 grand in entry level form. Only HEAVILY discounted they are worth it. I would opt for a base model, no options, for 8 grand or less during those "2 for this price" ads. Just not worth putting real cash down on one. You drive it 15 years, take care of it, and dump it. Get one bargain based or not at all.

  • @djkenny Lol, why bother, the resale values of these cars are sinking fast, since they're going to be discontinued for the new Sonic in America

  • @megazythr Resale is kind of worthless considering I would get one for bargain based cheap as possible and drive it till the wheels fell off anyway. I am sure one can get there value out of one if they just keep up on the maintenance, make repairs as needed, and take it over 200k. I have a friend with a 95 Accent, 230k, bought it for 6 grand new with no options. He had had a few repairs but it is still kickin. But again, only worth it if you can get one for not a dime more than 8 grand new.

  • @djkenny Interesting take, thing is, can anyone work on these cars or are they dealer service dependant

  • @megazythr They are likely easy to keep running. As long as someone takes care of them, maintains the vehicle. I see no reason for them to not give many miles of reasonably reliable service. I think any certified mechanic could handle the needs.

  • @djkenny Interesting take, thing is, can anyone work on these cars or are they dealer service dependant?

  • @djkenny Interesting take, thing is, can anyone work on these cars or are they dealer service dependent?

  • @megazythr No. I am just smart money. These cars are not investments, in fact unless you are getting a collectible rare car or classic NO car is an investment. When buying econo, then package it accordingly. I you want more car, step up a level in class, like an entry level next level car... more equipment and better drive for same or similar money.

  • I didn't know a human can be smart money. When you invest in something it doesn't necessarily have to mean profit. You want to say invest money for profit. Otherwise investing money can mean for a security. Unless someone can enlighten me. When you invest time and energy in somebody for them to be a champion it doesn't require money or profit. It's for the good of that person. America is built on the word investment which is very flawed.

  • Do people buy classic cars for money or because they enjoy owning some form of history? An investment for money profit basically means you bought the car to get profit later.

  • @tnguyen318 Not what I meant at all. The purpose of the entry level econo car market should be to get a runabout, simple manual window model to get you around reliably for many years. Packaging these entry level cars to the point they cost the same as a more upscale car that would have all those power features, upgraded wheels etc... makes a great deal more sense. Like the Aveo in base form would be under 9 grand with discounts. Load it up and you can hit over 13 grand. Senseless.

  • @djkenny So... basically you're saying you're a cheap fucker?

  • Should have stuck with Suzuki. Better Fuel, quality, etc.

  • @djkenny I agree that Suzuki makes AWESOME small cars, and I really wish the Swift could've continued in the GM lineup, but the Aveo really isn't a bad deal in the wagon format (Smallest 5 door on the market right now next to the Fit, but it's cheaper too!) and great considering that, aside from Honda, there aren't any other small wagon competitors. For the price, the sedan really doesn't stand out. Hyundai/Kia and Toyota sedans really stand better in comparison for the 4 door market

  • You should know about something before you agree. All Suzuki cars aren't small. It's, "Their cars are generally smaller than other comparable cars on the road".

  • I have a 2007 Aveo and it's red. And its my baby(: Its not fast, but I dont care it gets me places. And all aveo haters can suck it, noones telling you to buy this car. Its affordable, and cute and good on gas. Thats all that matters.

  • @HollisterChika Unfortunately you'll have a hard time selling it, if you decide to, since it is being discontinued

  • This is one of those cars where I would literally walk before I'd own one.

  • I have a 2008 Aveo5, it's really a good car, but it's not for drag racers. It has good road feel but vague steering. It has many styling cues held over from the Geo Metro days, but it also very, very comfortable, lumbar support is excellent. I have a manual tranny and almost always get 35 MPG, a little disappointing compared to a Metro.

  • @redstapler33 Thank you for the laugh:]

  • the inside is nice looking, i probably wouldnt buy one, but its not a bad car over all...

  • Part of being an economical car is that it should be economical to buy. There are all kids of deals on these cars now. No, it isn't a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, but it costs thousands less...isn't that why people buy economical cars?

Not a bad commuter or second car.

  • this is better than BMW cuz its cheaper , i got one :)

  • mileage sucks. (I can only get 26 in the city with manual trans + full synthetics + light foot. Some bigger, heavier compacts with bigger engines can do 29 easily.) Performance sucks, standard equipment sucks. Reliability and ride are average. Interior space is good.

  • Got an Aveo 1.6 with 5sp manual: decent mileage. But I can´t quit complaining on its cheap finish, bouncing suspension, underpowered engine, excesively close gearing, under steering, harsh seats... My sister and I went From Mexico City to Veracruz (405km or 250mi) a couple weeks ago on her Aveo. All I can say is you´ve gotta knock down the gas pedal all the time and play a lot with the gears, especially on curvy roads, if you want to keep up with the traffic. Sporty feel without sporty speed! :(

  • On the good side, I liked the H U G E trunk, the gas mileage (a full tank could bring us all the way from one city to another!), the optional equipment on it, the accurate brake response (This one has ABS), the audio system´s fidelity, the adjustable steering wheel, adjustable driver´s seat, crisp and powerful fog and headlights, superb AC, and the full size spare tire. A good car if you are more concerned in amenities and discretion rather than performance or looks. Not for agressive drivers

  • this car is such a piece of shit, in 2012 they are supposed to have the new 1.4 turbo engines and not an interference engine

  • I drove my gf's friends in toronto. It was kinda fun, like a go cart haha. On the highway it feels better than my moms '05 civic. I hate to say it, but it's not a bad little car.

  • It's a disgrace for Chevy.

  • @despotism444 Chevy was disgraced a long time ago, through no fault of the Aveo

  • @despotism444 Funny... I thought hillbillies considered the "buyout" to be a disgrace to Chevy. Then again, most "patriotic" morons don't understand global economy. Granted I would've rather seen the Suzuki/GM partnership continue, Daewoo has given them more sales and better parts supply support than GM gives it's customers.

  • What am I going to do with so little horsepower? I would never buy it.

  • i'v this one

  • lol my Gf just got hers and she already had me put a full exhaust on it and intake

  • I doubt it.

  • i drive a daewoo lanos, which is basically the same and while kinda crude. It has been very relible and fun.

  • aveo ROCKS !! ^^
