Roughly translated "Abeille Flandre" is The Flanders Bee....or The Flemish Bee...anyone want to correct and put my mind at rest. Been trying to figure out what her English name is.
is ti just me or does anyone else have the overwhelming urge to tie themselves in a full set of waterproofs to the pole at the front and just go a bit mental for a while? XD
@morace250 ..oohh you big brute!!..there are more pooftas who become semen(seamen)..but what do you expect with the stuff they associate with a life on the briny..master bates, moby dick, seman stains, big jake, poop deck, kiss me hardy,etc..ooh you are awful!
A ship is relative to it's weather. As long as the cook is adept weather won't be an issue. I'd cook low acid foods such as Shephard's Pie, fresh veggie dip, sandwich platter with fresh meats and cheeses, fresh sliced fruits, and an abundunce of fresh water to stay hydrated. When the weather clears I'd offer a lasagna with fresh garlic bread and a raucus salad with all the fixings. A choice of salad dressings would be homemade. Coffee would always be fresh ground and snacks available.
Nothing will put lead in your pencil like white water towing! The wife onshore knows she'll get pounded after watching this offshore vid. 30 on and 3 hrs on. You better slide down the bannister and warm up dinner! I'm ready to get back aboard when she gets comfy. TIME TO GO!
brave ppl risking death by foreeign countries death by drowning and by sea monsters either way i admire their courage true men stand up guys are these type of fighters
the men on this ships are real heroes. we always hear about CEOs, billionaires, business stars.. what are they compared to those men ? tthe men working on these ships don't even have huge salaries, no one know their name.. famous people are not those who deserve it !
Here in the states we pay good money to have a thrill ride like that. This looks to be much better than a rollercoster. How do I get a ride on this boat. GOD how do these amazing people handle it every day. Oh I like the music too. Not sure why.
@incongra I think this is in Britanny, near Ushant, a French Island between the Bay of Biscay and the English Channel. It's one of the most dangerous area in the world where winds are often going against the sea. The helicopter is an Aérospatiale Super Frelon. And the music sucks! :D
Real instructive description! Video is great as well. Just that the music is not so catchy (to my taste). I rather like the music trame of Marejada Ocean Tug. Anyway,,,... *****

I see that some enjoyed the music. Fair enough. I think it horrible and distracting, irrelevant to the images.

For the benefit of us English speakers, is that the Irish Sea? - What was the incident?
I'm surprised how close the SeaKing/Sikorsky 61N pilot is willing to come to the vessel. Beautiful clip. Thanks.
incongra 2 years ago
Hi Incongra,
It's the Mer d'Iroise - the stretch of water off southern Brittany between the Ile de Sein and Oissant, a very rough part of the Atlantic near Brest.
And the helicopter was a Dauphin from the French Navy, not an S61N. Good bit of flying though.
ramseyboater 2 years ago
@ramseyboater Surprising, because it really looks like a 61 at 2:26. It looks like he has got his wheels down, too. Thanks for the info.
