As an Orthodox Christian, I concider Catholics my Brothers in Christ, as well as in Our Holy Mother-Full of Grace!!! Great video-thanx 4 posting!!! +++
@cwood4ever If someone "prays TO Mary" they are in error. It is ok to ask for her assistance, just as she asked Jesus for help at the Wedding Feast at Cana...she 'interceded' TO her SON, Jesus Christ, out of concern for those in need. I don't know about you, but if my Mom asks something of me, I do it.. Why wouldn't Jesus consider requests his Mother brings to him?
And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost. 42 And she cried out with a loud voice and said: BLESSED are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
Do u see first the Angel from God blessed HER and now human BLESS HER - so ALL BLESS HER.
How can u say that u can't find prayer and blessing to the Most Holy Virgin?
@johnakimf you mean the Bible that the Church pulled together from Sacred Writings ? Your position is rooted in man's continued cooperation with Satan where man started determining how God should respond to him... Case in point, the Reformation which has done more to bring us to the brink today than most of man's folly.

@MsILOVEJESUS1 ..excuse me,Elvis fans know who God is.Were you refering to me & other Elvis fans in ur earlier comment? If so ur a fool.Don't use Elvis' name in ur mixed up views of being an Elvis fan & knowing who God is,We don't worship Elvis,we love him, there is nothing wrong with that!.stop judging people!U have no idea what's in their heart!ur not God!only he knows what's in the hearts & minds of man!stop acting as if ur somebody who knows something,,u don't know anything about it!
Pray to Jesus. Our Father which art in heaven. Your prayers go invain to those who pray to Mary. She is dead. Other prayers that goes to the Saints is invain as well. The only person we should pray to is Father God via his son
@johnakimf Dude, our God is the "God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob... He is not the god of the dead, but of the living!" She lives, though not here. If the Roman Catholics are wrong, theirs is not a grievous wrong.
lets go one step at a time.. lets not jump "over centuries"
as per you, before the Council, there were Catholics and after there were Roman Catholics. Interesting. So what happened to the Catholics at Nicea ? Were they exterminated ?
"The Bishops of the Council of Nicaea were for the most part genuine Christian believers"
Were or werent these Bishops Catholic and therefore in full communion with the Bishop of Rome ? (and remember to backup your history with facts - I will).
@MrJamesthecatholic I will never deny that the word became flesh and dwelt among us. I will forever stand by the fact that Mary was a humna being just like myself. The only difference she was favored by God. Meaning that God is superior than her. Right now she is dead just like all the other Prophets. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 2:5 says that there is only one mediator between God and man there is not way you could pray to Mary and The Saints. Did Jesus do that,No
Nowhere does the Bible says Mary was sinless or the exception to sin passed on from each generation. For such a miraculous event the Bible surely would have spoken to this issue. Catholics do not find this doctrine from the context of Scripture but from making a pretext out of the Scripture from their Church tradition (which happens to be written down). But again it is not apostolic tradition.
@IDH77 Mary is the mother of Jesus, and Jesus is God, so Mary is the mother of God. She did not give birth to part of Christ, but to a single person, the Divine Person of God's Eternal Son (Lk 1:35). She is the mother in time of an Eternal Person, God the Son. Mary is referred to by Elizabeth as "the mother of my Lord" (Lk 1:43). She is told that her Son will be Emmanuel, God with us (Mt 1:23). Her Son is God, so she is the mother of God. Mary is not the mother of God from eternity, but in time.
@BosMutusCatholic You're just using the same old flawed arguments. What Roman Catholicism has done is give Mary the title that originally belonged to Astarte/Diana of Ephesus. Acts 19
Its a pagan title that has nothing to do with the real Mary of the Bible! The Mary of the RCC is a Roman goddess with all the attributes of the original pagan goddess such as perpetual virginity and the Lady of the Good Death.
@IDH77 The arguments may be old, but that does not show they are flawed. This is the faith of the Church from the beginning. Catholics only worship God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I don't know anything about Astarte/Diana. "Anyone who worships Mary is an idolater!" This is true. By God's grace, we don't worship Mary, but follow scripture & honor our mother (whom Jesus gave to his Church(Jn 19:27; Rev 12:17), and with all generations, call her blessed (Lk 1:48) She's our Blessed Mother.
@BosMutusCatholic Unfortunately for you the dogmas about Mary are definitely not apostolic in origin. Rather they originate in syncretistic thinking that merges Christianity with paganism.
The Mary of the Bible is NOT the Mary of the Marian dogmas! You have been lied to my friend.
Jesus Christ is the ONLY Saviour Redeemer and Mediator with no man-made traditional additions.
Bowing down to statues of Mary is IDOLATRY by its very nature!
@MrJamesthecatholic I thought that would have been obvious. The New Testament is the only genuine apostolic record we have and that contains NOTHING about the Marian dogmas.
Plus the Ante-Nicene Fathers contain nothing about them either and they are the record of the first 300 years of post-apostolic Christianity.
@MrJamesthecatholic The 27 books of the New Testament have been in use for centuries, are you doubting them?
I'm well aware that the Romanist church tries to accept credit for writing the NT. That’s simply not true!
There are many doctrines that the Roman church accepts that either are not found in the NT or completely contradict the teachings of the apostles such as purgatory and Transubstantiation. These have their origins in paganism rather than the teachings of the apostles.
"I'm well aware that the Romanist church tries to accept credit for writing the NT. That’s simply not true!"
Heretic Protestanism from the 1500s always loves creating fanicul creative writing when it comes to history. So please tell us what your version is. Please give us the name(s) and dates of the protestants who canonized the NT.
@MrJamesthecatholic You're asking silly questions! The early Christians didn’t look to Rome for their leadership.
Where is the Pontifex Maximus in the Bible? Where is praying to saints and Mary in the Bible? Where is the command that all Christians must look to Rome in the Bible?
Papal infallibility is a sick joke and praying to Mary is demonic worship!
"You're asking silly questions! The early Christians didn’t look to Rome for their leadership."
You are just trying to run away from the questions. So lets repeat them. You said the Catholic church dint canononize the NT. So why dont you enlighten all of us with who cannonized scripture ? Please give us the name(s) and dates of the protestants who canonized the NT.
When did we agree that everything needs to be in the Bible ? I dint. So no thats not an assumption. If you were going to to stick to the Bible, why were you talking about the Nicean fathers ? They are not your fathers - your church is what a 100 years old ? They are Catholic Bishops. So quit being a hypocrite.
Please give us the name(s) and dates of the protestants who canonized the NT, since you claim the "Roman Church" dint canonize it.
@MrJamesthecatholic If the Christian faith was already handed down then logically the Marian dogmas are later additions not part of the original apostolic faith.
The only way to test any kind of doctrine is to compare it with the New Testament. In fact the NT dismisses much of the claims of the papacy and the RCC! In reality ALL of the dogmas are pagan additions.
You belong to a religion of man-made traditions NOT the apostolic faith! See Matt 5:17-18
"The only way to test any kind of doctrine is to compare it with the New Testament."
Nope thats not so. Thats just your way of looking at things - thats not a fact. For example the NT doesnt state a list of contents that comprises the NT. So your argument fails right away.
Going back to the original question.. which is what this whole thing was about
Please give us the name(s) and dates of the protestants who canonized the NT, since you claim the "Roman Church" dint canonize it.
"before the Council of Nicaea NEITHER did Roman Catholicism! There were only Christians who referred to themselves as catholic! "
So as per you, before the Council, there were Catholics and after there were Roman Catholics. Interesting. So what happened to the Catholics at Nicea ? Were they exterminated ? For your information "Roman Catholic" is the Latin or Western rite of the Catholic church. Thats not the only one. I am Eastern Catholic for example. Doesnt make sense ?
@MrJamesthecatholic It does make sense if you know the REAL history of the Church not the make-believe of the RCC.
Roman Catholicism is something that grew with time it didn’t arise fully grown. The Bishops of the Council of Nicaea were for the most part genuine Christian believers and indwelt with the Holy Spirit.
Over the course of centuries it moved away from the teachings of the NT and accepted teachings that were pagan in origin. Transubstantiation, purgatory and the Marian dogmas.
"Plus the Ante-Nicene Fathers contain nothing about them either and they are the record of the first 300 years of post-apostolic Christianity."
oh really ? Perhaps you have not read them well enough. Which dogma are we talking about. Pick one to start with.
Plus why should they all be defined by ante Nicean fathers ? Did something happen at the CATHOLIC council of Nicea that PROTESTANTS 1200 years later find important enough that only fathers before that are to be considered ?
@IDH77 Still the Mother of God. The whole motherhood thing is a natural term for gestating a baby in a womb, and pushing him out of said womb. God went through the whole process, and though motherhood happens apart from the will of the mom, she still was the one who was chosen as a vessel through which God might be born. He was born through her, not begun.
"Mary is the mother of Jesus, and Jesus is God, so Mary is the mother of God. Mary is not the mother of God from eternity, but in time."
This whole Trinitarian system with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit as well as praying to saints, priests and bishops forgiving sins etc. etc. is a bit confusing. Why can't we just pray to The Creator alone, and not this humans.
@Selerzz I am sorry that the truth is confusing. You should address you concern to God, the Holy Trinity. He is the One who revealed Himself as a Trinity of Persons, and in the Person of His Son, established the Church to continue His work of redemption, including the forgiveness of sins through priests and bishops. You can pray to whomever you wish, but Jesus commanded us to pray with and for each other, and that includes those who live with him now in heaven, i.e., the saints.
You FORGET TO MENTION that Catholics believe first and foremost in GOD ONLY as their savior. yes we aknowladge The Virgin Mary. MARY was the mother of JESUS...plain and simple...we appreciate her for the birth of our savior. You make it look like she is the one we beilieve IS our savior. GET REAL.....The fact that you even judge others is what should be in question.
@texasboy505 I'm not sure if your comments are directed toward me and my video, or toward another commentor. At 9:00 in the video, I do say 'The honor given to Mary should not be confused with worship which is reserved for God alone.' This should let people know that Catholics only worship God, not Mary, and that Jesus Christ is the only savior of mankind. He is the savior even of Mary by saving her from original sin in her Immaculate Conceptions (watch from 5:10).
@BosMutusCatholic Bos I hope I won't get blocked by what I'm about to tell you but Mary was not without sin. Her parents were sinners and that makes her one too.
@1954phyllis By that reasoning, Jesus's (human) parent was not without sin, and so a sinner and that makes him one, too. But this is obviously false, for Jesus is without sin, so as to be a sinless offering for all of humanity. He was born sinless by receiving a sinless humanity from his sinless mother -- who was preserved from sin, and so saved, by the merits of her Son (not from her own merits).
@texasboy505 From Bishop Liguoris' "The Glories of Mary", APPROVED by the vatican! "She (Mary) is . . . the only hope of sinners: (p. 69),"We will be heard and saved sooner by going to Mary, and invoking her holy name, than that of Jesus our Savior. We will find salvation sooner going to the mother than going to the Son" (p. 82),"Many things asked of God and not received are asked and received from Mary (p. 82). All obey the precepts of Mary, even God" (p. 115). ALL CATHOLIC LIES!
"rom Bishop Liguoris' "The Glories of Mary", APPROVED by the vatican! "She (Mary) is . . . the only hope of sinners: (p. 69),""
yawn kiwichristian2009 - do you just copy paste this comment on every video of the blessed virgin ? Am asking you for the third or fourth time. Please paste the lines that precede that line on page 69 fully here. You obviously have read the whole of the book dint you :-) ? (Hint : there is nothing like that on page 69 - I read it)
"ALL CATHOLIC LIES! " ???? Not ALL catholics have agreed to that you idiot. that like saying, " ALL Kindegarden children like candy. Susie is in kindegarden therefor she MUST like candy.." You throw things about what is said or writen about catholics, if any...but that doesnt mean we all agree to those believes. Stop judging. " He who is free from sin cast the first stone ' You sinner, just like the rest of us.
@texasboy505 My friend, thank you for your reply. It is not a case of that individual catholics believe or not believe. What matters is that the vatican says these teachings and beliefs are true. And they are not.
@scilynx2 Exactly! We call Mary the Mother of God to affirm that Jesus is God! (not that she is greater than God -- how can we make this plainer?) Mary always and only leads people to Jesus -- she does what every good disciple does. Thanks for your support.
@1954phyllis OK, granted. But He uses human instruments, like the Apostles, evangelists, pastors, teachers, parents -- Jesus gave us His mother to be our mother (see John 19:26-27; Rev 12:5, 17). Like any good mother, she leads her children to Christ, and like any good Son, Jesus listens to the requests of His mother.
@scilynx2 Mother of God? No. Mother of Jesus. Yes.
Why do you pray to Mary?? 1 Tim 2:5.. Any catholic who prays to mary because they are afraid of the wrath of Jesus does NOT know Christ. Needs to read the bible again. Why then? give any answer, it will be unbiblical. To have someone to go to Jesus on your behalf? Why not just pray to Christ?!?! Heaven is not a call center where u need 500 middle men. Go to the LIVING GOD
@kedmonton Why are you still posting 1 Tim 2:5?!? We've explained many times how saints' mediation is part of Christ's mediation as his body. We don't pray to Mary because we are afraid of Jesus, but because we love all parts of his mystical body, and he gave her to us as our mother. Why have saints pray on our behalf? "pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" James 5: 16. That is biblical-even for your (Jewish) King James.
@BosMutusCatholic Than why not pray to the people in the bible who were actual saints like moses? or aaron? or Daniel even? or joseph Jesus' father? or Mary's grand mother? or what about me, when I die, will you kneel to my dead corpse since I am a saint?
you should research who isis horus and set are. you keep side tracking that bible verse in timothy. ONE mediator does not mean 1000. it means ONE. jesus.. not saints. the son.
ur ignoring that 'ONE mediator' part. one god, ONE mediator.
@kedmonton For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Rom 12: 4-5. the church, Which is [Christ's] body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. Eph 1: 22-23 (See 1 Cor 6: 17; Col 1: 24; Eph 4:5, 12) One mediator, Christ, with many members, saints. We do ask all the saints in heaven, St. Moses and David, St. Joseph, St. Anne & Joachim (Mary's parents), to pray for us.
@kedmonton If you come to be a saint in heaven, I will ask you, (not your corpse, which at that time will not be you) to pray for me from your place in heaven. I am now, and will be (by God's grace) in heaven, praying for you.
@1954phyllis Saints aren't dead: 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living (Mt 22:32). (W)e are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses ... No, you have approached Mount Zion and the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and countless angels in festal gathering, and the assembly of the firstborn enrolled in heaven, and God the judge of all, and the spirits of the just made perfect, and Jesus (Heb 12:1,22-24).
@1954phyllis In praying to the saints, I AM praying to Jesus, to the members of His Mystical Body. And as I have to pray FOR others, the saints pray FOR me and you TO God, through Jesus, in the Holy Spirit.
@kedmonton Yeah, get this. From Bishop Liguoris' "The Glories of Mary", APPROVED by the vatican! "She (Mary) is . . the only hope of sinners: (p.
@kiwichristian2009 Stop quoting anything other than the bible please. It would seem Jesus is becoming less and less significant given the passage of time. Boy I'm glad Pope Pius the 9th straightened out the facts so now I can understand my bible..
Go study some more. The bible, not the catechesis.
P.S. read only from the king james version. not from your catholic translations. they change subtle verses like these to suit the doctrines like yours
@kedmonton Where in the bible does it say to use the king james version? That's unbibllical! The same for the Letter of Barnabus: where in the bible does it say not to treat it as inspired (but to treat the Letter to Philemon (or any of the other books of the bible) as inspired)? 'Bible Alone' is unbiblical. The true version is the Catholic version: the Greek which the Catholic church canonized and has preserved for 2000 years. If you want to discusss these points, watch my video "Bible Alone".
@BosMutusCatholic lmao I'm guessing you just looked up the difference between the King James and your Catholic bible hahaha. The king james bible (King james himself being Jewish) translate from the original greek and hebrew manuscripts. the Catholics RE-WROTE their own manuscripts so long ago.
I think its awesome you're learning this now though.
P.S. 2nd Timothy 3:16, ALL scripture is breathed out by God.. again, only king james :)
@kedmonton Oh, my! King James was Jewish?!? This would be funny if you were not serious. King James I of England commissioned your translation of the Bible in 1611 for the Church of England. Look it up in the King James Bible online or in the preface to your Bible. I still don't see a reference to the King James version at 2 Tim 3:16 - only scriptures which Timothy knew from childhood, i.e., OT Jewish scriptures. It says nothing about the gospels, letters of Paul, etc (or which ones).
@BosMutusCatholic It cannot be proven that the Catholic Church is solely responsible for the gathering and selection of the New Testament books. In fact, it can be shown that the New Testament books were gathered into one volume and were in circulation long before the Catholic Church claims to have taken its action in 390 at the council of Hippo.
@scilynx2 "Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint (him) with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful." James 5:14-16.
@TheSacredHeart2 I hope and pray God will open your eyes. I sincerely pray the no evil comes your way but their is no hope in Roman Catholicism. It is Christ who died, was buried and rose from the dead for our sins. It is salvation by grace through faith that saves. Faith in Jesus Christ not faith in the RCC. Take care and you are in my prayers.
@Roberthurz I apologize for TheSacredHeart2. He does not know Catholic teaching. He needs our compassion and prayers for repentence and for God's mercy. I'm sorry, too, that the Catholic education you received was inadequate. I know I don't worship idols (I can't speak for other Catholic you know). I hope in the salvation Jesus Christ won for us by dying on the cross and which he offers us as grace to be received in faith. I pray that you will come to know the truth of the Catholic faith.
I Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus:
Mark 3:34-35 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
@Birdseed72 In1 Tim 2:1-4 Paul tells Timothy to offer prayers for others. Paul is not saying Timothy is another mediator. As a Christian, Timothy is part of the body of Christ, the One Mediator. His prayers are part of Christ's mediation. They do not stop now that he is in heaven and even closer to God (see Rev. 5:8).
@BosMutusCatholic Paul tells timothy to pray for others who are ALIVE. When you bow and pray to dead people you worship gods of the dead. Why else do you think God is referred to as the living God in the bible?
I don't have much space to type in here, but if you would like bible verses that show the truth that Mary was nothing more than an amazing woman who gave birth to Christ, I would be more than willing. say the word.
Plus you never answered the other guy about 1 tim 2:5.
@kedmonton Don't you mean 'Paul tells Timothy, who is ALIVE, to pray for others'? But if those who die in Christ are alive in heaven (such as Saint Timothy), why shouldn't he continue to pray for us who are on earth?
I don't bow to dead people (I don't know what that could mean). I do pray to those who live with Christ, but I do not worship gods of the dead. I am in the best position to know what I worship. God is the living God, because idols are lifeless (not dead since they never lived).
@kedmonton Mary did give birth to Christ; this great grace from God should not be dismissed as "nothing more than". Mary is NOTHING LESS THAN the Mother of God, i.e., of Jesus Emmanuel (God-with-us). She is an amazing woman: Most Blessed among Women. The Bible says all generations will call her blessed. Have you called her blessed today? I did answer 1 Tim 2:5. Timothy as mediator (one who prays on behalf of Paul) is not separate from Christ the One Mediator since Tim is of the body of Christ.
@kedmonton Revelation 5:8 -- "Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones." Who are the 'holy ones' whose prayers the elders are presenting to the Lamb (Jesus Christ) in heaven? If they are the saints already in heaven, these saints must be praying for us who ask them to pray for us. If the 'holy ones' are Christians on earth, the elders (saints in heaven) are presenting our prayers (incense) to Jesus (the Lamb).
If mary was born sinless to bring about Christ's sinless birth.. than wouldnt mary's mother have to be born sinless to bring about HER?, and so forth until the beginning of the genealogy tree?
@kedmonton Mary was preserved from sin (conceived sinless - pre-redeemed) by the merits of Christ, the sinless Lamb of sacrifice. If Mary was not sinless, Jesus would have had to redeem his own human nature in order to offer a sinless sacrifice, which would redeem his own human nature, in order to . . . and so forth -- "but no one can redeem his own life." God could have pre-redeemed many as he did Mary, but he only had to pre-redeem her so he would be the sinless redeemer of all (even of her).
@BosMutusCatholic You keep forgetting no one is without sin. except christ alone. not to mention Mary gave a SIN OFFERING in luke 2:24.. its blasphemy to think we need anyone other than Jesus for salvation.
@kedmonton Lk 2:24 doesn't imply Mary had sin; even Jesus received John's baptism, which was a baptism of repentence. It'd be wrong to conclude Jesus needed to, or even could, repent, since he was without sin. The temple offering made by Mary was for her ritual impurity from childbirth, and the 'sin' offering was required normally for the marital act which brought about the pregancy. By conceiving as a virgin, Mary didn't have to offer it.
@BosMutusCatholic The fact remains, she gave a sin offering as per jewish custom. The jews did not do those rituals just for the heck of it. but even if we put that aside, we have sound bible doctrine in 1 kings 8:46, ecclesiastes 7:20, and written AFTER mary was Romans 3:23 and 3:10. Paul never once mentions mary in his epistles.nor anyone else.
another thing if mary was immaculately conceived to bring jesus, than wouldnt HER mother need the immaculate conception and so forth?
@kedmonton GAAA! CATHOLICS DO NOT THINK WE NEED MARY FOR SALVATION! Even she needed Jesus' sacrifice to gain the grace of being preserved from sin. We just believe she should, for all generations, be called blessed, that she is our Blessed Mother because Christ gave her as such to his disciples (John 19: 27; Rev. 12: 17), that we should honor our mother, and that her prayers, like those of all righteous people, are very powerful (James 5: 16).
@BosMutusCatholic The woman in Revelation is the church of Christ (the bride as Jesus is the bride groom), but im not gonna get into a prophecy debate with you.read these verses in order: Gen 3:15, Rev 12:1, Gal 3:16, 3:29, Jer 6:2, Is 54:5-6, 51:16, 2 cor 11:2.
but lastly. read Matthew 1:25. Joseph did not Know Her UNTIL she had a FIRSTborn child. not only does this verse prove mary (being full blessed) had more than one child, but she did not remain forever virgin.
@kedmonton On your reading, the woman of Revelation is the Church, but then the Church gave birth to Jesus?!? No, the woman who gave birth to Jesus is the mother of his disciples. And, she is a type for the Church, the bride of Christ. Oh, please, the Greek word translated as 'until' could just as easily mean 'before', as in English. Same with 'first': this is our first exchange of comments; it doesn't mean we will have more.
@kedmonton The woman in revelation is a picture of the Israelite nation as shown in Gen37:9,10 with the sun representing Jacob, the moon his wife Rachel, and the 12 stars representing the tribes of Israel. Christ was born of Israel. The Israelite nation is often referred to as a woman in Isaiah54:5 and Jeremiah31:32.This woman cannot be mary because the woman IS ON EARTH DURING THE TRIBULATION, whereas mary's spirit is in heaven at that time.
@BosMutusCatholic "Sinners receive pardon by the intercession of Mary alone." St. John Chrysostom. "All those who seek Mary’s protection will be saved for all eternity." Pope Benedict XV. Pope Pius IX in 1854 “Let all the children of the Catholic Church ... Proceed to worship, invoke, and pray to the most blessed Virgin Mary, mother of God. ”
@BosMutusCatholic Rubbish. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Revelation 15:4 says, "Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou only art holy." Romans 3:10 says, There is none righteous, no, not one." Luke2:22,24 proves she needed purification from sin.
We have a debt with God because we've sinned against him. We are all sinners and deserve hell. because the wages of sin is death. BUT JESUS CAME TO PAY OUR DEBT. THE ONLY WAY FOR SINS TO BE FORGIVEN IS THROUGH THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD. SO JESUS WAS BEATEN AND CRUCIFIED SO WE CAN BE FORGIVEN. GOD IS A JUST GOD NO SIN WILL GO UNPUNISHED UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN. GOOD DEEDS WONT GET YOU TO HEAVEN ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE, FOR EVERYMAN DIES AND AFTER THIS COMES JUDGMENT. REPENT AND BELIEVE IN JESUS.
Catholics are idolators. It grieves me to say this but you are not my brothers and sisters in Christ. You have another Gospel, another Jesus and another Spirit. You are not bible based. Salvation is in your church not through Jesus. I was born and raised Roman Catholic. (watch someone call me a liar). I spent eight years in Catholic school. I went to a Salesian Seminary to become a priest. Thank God I found the biblical Jesus. I sincerely hope you all do too.
Search "Roman history pontifex maximus," and you'll see clearly (if you're honest) that Peter was NOT the first pope. The first pope ruled long before Jesus walked the earth. Catholics defend one false doctrin after another.
@magic038@magic038 Right, pontifex maximus was a pagan high priest in ancient Rome (4th c, BC), that became an honorary title. It wasn't applied to the Bishop of Rome (Pope) until 4th-6th c, AD, but never was, and is not now, an official title of the Bishop of Rome. Don't confuse an over-simplification of the rather complicated history of Rome with Catholic doctrine.
Anyone notice only the CCC says Mary was bodily resurrected? Anyone find a scripture to support that? BTW I can provide the names of SEVEN POPES who did not believe Mary was sinless. I thought these Popes were infallible in matters of faith. So... what happened? A house of cards, sadly, relegating scripture to the will of sinful men.
@SkiesVibrant Names please. Also, did the context of what they said meet the criteria (ex cathedra) for infallibility? Not everything a pope says, even when about faith and morals, is infallible, only when he is making a definitive statement on what all Christians are bound to believe in faith. The decrees of Ecumenical Councils are the more normal way infallible statements of the faith have been made -- especially divinity/humanity of Christ, Trinity, sacraments, canon of Scripture.
“Behold!” The Angel said, “O Mary, God has chosen thee and purified thee and chosen thee above all the women of all nations. O Mary, God gives thee glad tidings of a word. His name shall be Jesus, The Son of Mary and held in honor in this world and in the hereafter and of those nearest to God
Know what the Talmud says about The Holy Mother and Our Lord Jesus? No? Go find!
The Popes (pontifex maximus) were making decrees long before Jesus walked the earth. Jesus and his followers gave warnings about the "other" church that was already forming at that time? By their traditions they ignore the commandments of God (even altered them) to hide an important fact. And they will say "But Lord, Lord, we have done good works in your name. We cast out demons in your name." "But I never knew you," says the Lord.
Strangelly enough, he was never called Immanuel by the apostles...his name was Jehoshua, and Joseph was commanded to give him the name; Jehoshua not Immanuel
@comali2212 It is all good to respect the mother of Jesus, but Catholics have taken it waaay too far. I know, my family is Catholic. They have turned her into a different Mary, the Queen Of Heaven, a goddess to kneel and pray to. This is NOT the word of God. How well do you know Roman history? The Popes (pontifex maximus) were making decrees long before Jesus walked the earth. And do you not remember Jesus and his followers warning about the "other" church that was already forming at that time?
@magic038 Excellent points. There is no scripture that says Mary was sinless, that she was boldily ascended into heaven and so therefore never died. She is not to be prayed to either. It's pure idolatry. If Catholics want to show her respect, I don't have any problem with that. But carrying an idol of her down the aisle of a church is certainly elevating her above God. It's very sad. But for catholics to reject this teaching, they'd have to reject hundreds of others. They won't do that.
@magic038 Right, pontifex maximus was a pagan high priest in ancient Rome (4th c, BC), that became an honorary title. It wasn't applied to the Bishop of Rome (Pope) until 4th-6th c, AD, but never was, and is not now, an official title of the Bishop of Rome.
We forgot that Jesus was raised by His Mother as a human, because He was a human too.. Why some deny His humanity that through it we gained our salvation!
His took His humanity from Mary, all of it. His divinity entered Her Womb and incarnated.
If we just pose and deeply meditate, with an open heart, a heart of a child.
Jesus was raised at Her hands, day after day after day.. Was born in Her hands, and died in Her hands...
Look at Jesus, hear Jesus, read what Jesus said and did, His humbleness, modesty, passion for love and sacrifice... It's was all prepared through Her hands, through Her whispers, through Her smile snd gentle voice.
She's God's Masterpiece, the most beloved to His holy heart.
we ask the blessed virgin and the loyal saints to pray for us just like we pray for each other here on earth...thats all, nothing more nothing less....we are not pegans, we are monotheistic faith....praise the one great almighty
Mary was a humble servant of the Lord, that is all. We are not to pray to her, she is not another way to get to heaven, simple as that, not complicated.
For all of you who feel that the Catholic Marian doctrine is not found in the bible, I recommend watching seminars (on youtube in parts) by Scott Hahn, who will give you so many bible passages you won't know what to do :) There is a lot of media out there that discusses Mary's true role and where it is in the Old and New Testament. Thank you and have a great day!
Anyone who is seeking answers about the Catholic faith should seek them from those who teach RCIA courses at your local Catholic Churches. The person who made this video tried very hard to make Catholics look like idolaters. We are not, we do not worship Mary, too bad he left that part of the CCC out of his clever video. I strongly urge all Protestants as my brothers/sisters in Christ to put this kind of propaganda by the wayside. You will never learn 2000 years of theology from a 10 minute clip
@interestingandrew "The person who made this video tried very hard to make Catholics look like idolaters." ?!? The point I make repeatedly in the video is that Catholic belief and practice is firmly grounded in Scripture. At 9:00 I quote the CCC to show that Catholics do not worship Mary, are not idolators, but that the honor given Mary is based on God's favor to her, and leads to true worship and adoration of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. How can people comment without watching the video?
@scilynx2 Ok, my apologies then. It's just that i see people kneeling and bowing and kissing the popes ring and feet at times i thought "Hang on, this looks a bit wrong!" :)
@scilynx2 Amen! I see many photos of catholics bowing and kneeling and kissing the popes' feet or the feet of idols/statues. This is forbidden in the Word of God.
@kiwichristian2009 we bow our head to our pope because we ask blessing and prayer,, our pope, bishop and priest never teach us or told us to kiss the feet of the pope, maybe the person who kiss the feet of the pope is not a catholic, a protestant who want to destroy the catholic church
@kiwichristian2009 if you don't bow your head on your pastor, me too i never kiss the feet of the pope, because our priest , bishop and even our pope never told us to do it
@scilynx2 ah you answer my question who is the second person in the trinity, tnx for the answer but i want kiwichistian2009 to answer my question, by the way i know about the holy trinity tnx brother in christ
Peter understood with all humility the implications of being only a man. But popes, being only men like Peter, allow multitudes to bow their knees before them, kiss their feet, and reverence them—thereby receiving worship that does not rightfully belong to them. What a tremendous difference between Peter and his supposed successors!
@imAfreaklikeyou Then WHY, my friend, WHY do you catholics ignore the conversation between Jesus and Peter and focus on just one sentence which you take out of context of the rest of the conversation re: Jesus being the rock, NOT peter?
@kiwichristian2009 my friend did Jesus say PETER I AM THE ROCK OR FOR YOU ARE PETER THE ROCK and upon this rock i will build my church, which is the correct my friend?
@kiwichristian2009 we never ignore the conversation BETWEEN JESUS AND PETER, when we celebrate our HOLY EUCHARIST everyday when we read our FIRST READING, SECOND READING AND THE GOSPEL WE READ THE WHOLE CHAPTER NOT BY VERSE..., how about you, your pastor just read those guided verses that they think that can destroy the catholic church teaching
51Then he(JESUS) went down to Nazareth with them and he( JESUS)was OBEDIENT to them(JOSEPH AND MARY). But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
48When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”49“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” 50But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
@scilynx2 Rubbish. Catholics were NOT first. It wasnt until the first pope emp. constantine proclaimed himself pontius maximus that the roman catholic chruch as we know it began.
before you keep on attacking the catholic church, make sure you really know the the bible, you don't even know who is Allah, and you don't respect Allah
@imAfreaklikeyou Yes, i do know allah. He was the moongod worshipped by the Sabeans.Archaeologists have uncovered temples to the Moon-god throughout Middle East.According to inscriptions, while the name of the M.G was Sin, his title was al-ilah,i.e."the deity,"meaning that he was the chief or high god among the gods.Muslim's claim that Allah is the God of the Bible and that Islam arose from the religion of the prophets and apostles.Islam is refuted by solid, overwhelming archeological evidence.
@kiwichristian2009 tell me KIWICHRISTIAN2009 any verse in the bible that god the father saying his name is Yahweh or Jehovah only, as i said before i say again ALLAH, JEHOVAH, YAHWEH, EL SHADAI AND MANY MORE are the name of god the father given by the prophet like Abraham , Elijah and etc, are sure you really reading the right bible

MrJamesthecatholic 11 months ago
@MrJamesthecatholic I will never deny that the word became flesh and dwelt among us. I will forever stand by the fact that Mary was a humna being just like myself. The only difference she was favored by God. Meaning that God is superior than her. Right now she is dead just like all the other Prophets. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 2:5 says that there is only one mediator between God and man there is not way you could pray to Mary and The Saints. Did Jesus do that,No

@johnakimf You must have been reading the wrong bible because Mary gave birth to jesus in Bethlehem in the stables.
RoooosterSauce 3 months ago
Nowhere does the Bible says Mary was sinless or the exception to sin passed on from each generation. For such a miraculous event the Bible surely would have spoken to this issue. Catholics do not find this doctrine from the context of Scripture but from making a pretext out of the Scripture from their Church tradition (which happens to be written down). But again it is not apostolic tradition.
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago
Biblically Mary is only the mother of Jesus NOT the Mother of God.
She’s never referred to that way in the Bible. (Acts 1:14)
His humanity comes from Mary (Son of Man) and his divinity from God (Son of God).
God was GOD long before mothers were invented.
IDH77 1 year ago
@IDH77 Mary is the mother of Jesus, and Jesus is God, so Mary is the mother of God. She did not give birth to part of Christ, but to a single person, the Divine Person of God's Eternal Son (Lk 1:35). She is the mother in time of an Eternal Person, God the Son. Mary is referred to by Elizabeth as "the mother of my Lord" (Lk 1:43). She is told that her Son will be Emmanuel, God with us (Mt 1:23). Her Son is God, so she is the mother of God. Mary is not the mother of God from eternity, but in time.
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago 4
@BosMutusCatholic You're just using the same old flawed arguments. What Roman Catholicism has done is give Mary the title that originally belonged to Astarte/Diana of Ephesus. Acts 19
Its a pagan title that has nothing to do with the real Mary of the Bible! The Mary of the RCC is a Roman goddess with all the attributes of the original pagan goddess such as perpetual virginity and the Lady of the Good Death.
Anyone who worships Mary is an idolater!
IDH77 1 year ago
@IDH77 The arguments may be old, but that does not show they are flawed. This is the faith of the Church from the beginning. Catholics only worship God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I don't know anything about Astarte/Diana. "Anyone who worships Mary is an idolater!" This is true. By God's grace, we don't worship Mary, but follow scripture & honor our mother (whom Jesus gave to his Church(Jn 19:27; Rev 12:17), and with all generations, call her blessed (Lk 1:48) She's our Blessed Mother.
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago 2
@BosMutusCatholic Unfortunately for you the dogmas about Mary are definitely not apostolic in origin. Rather they originate in syncretistic thinking that merges Christianity with paganism.
The Mary of the Bible is NOT the Mary of the Marian dogmas! You have been lied to my friend.
Jesus Christ is the ONLY Saviour Redeemer and Mediator with no man-made traditional additions.
Bowing down to statues of Mary is IDOLATRY by its very nature!
IDH77 1 year ago
@IDH77
"Unfortunately for you the dogmas about Mary are definitely not apostolic in origin"
So why dont you show us some apostolic objections ? What exactly do you mean by "Apostolic" ?
MrJamesthecatholic 11 months ago
@MrJamesthecatholic I thought that would have been obvious. The New Testament is the only genuine apostolic record we have and that contains NOTHING about the Marian dogmas.
Plus the Ante-Nicene Fathers contain nothing about them either and they are the record of the first 300 years of post-apostolic Christianity.
Clearly they are fictional add-ons!
IDH77 11 months ago
@IDH77
"The New Testament is the only genuine apostolic record we have "
You speak very ambiguous language my friend. What makes the New Testament "genuine" ? Your acceptance of them ?
MrJamesthecatholic 11 months ago
@MrJamesthecatholic The 27 books of the New Testament have been in use for centuries, are you doubting them?
I'm well aware that the Romanist church tries to accept credit for writing the NT. That’s simply not true!
There are many doctrines that the Roman church accepts that either are not found in the NT or completely contradict the teachings of the apostles such as purgatory and Transubstantiation. These have their origins in paganism rather than the teachings of the apostles.
IDH77 11 months ago

Heretic Protestanism from the 1500s always loves creating fanicul creative writing when it comes to history. So please tell us what your version is. Please give us the name(s) and dates of the protestants who canonized the NT.
MrJamesthecatholic 11 months ago
@MrJamesthecatholic You're asking silly questions! The early Christians didn’t look to Rome for their leadership.
Where is the Pontifex Maximus in the Bible? Where is praying to saints and Mary in the Bible? Where is the command that all Christians must look to Rome in the Bible?
Papal infallibility is a sick joke and praying to Mary is demonic worship!
IDH77 11 months ago
@IDH77
MrJamesthecatholic 11 months ago
@IDH77
"Where is the Pontifex Maximus in the Bible?"
MrJamesthecatholic 11 months ago
@MrJamesthecatholic The REAL false assumption is that it was ROMAN Catholics who canonised and wrote the Bible.
ROMAN Catholicism didn’t start until Constantine. He was the first ‘Christian’ Pontifex Maximus!
Obviously Protestantism didn’t exist then but all catholic really means is universal and that just means all who believed in the Christian faith.
Jude verse 3 tells us that by the time the NT was written ALL the faith was already handed down ‘once for all’.
IDH77 11 months ago
@MrJamesthecatholic If the Christian faith was already handed down then logically the Marian dogmas are later additions not part of the original apostolic faith.
The only way to test any kind of doctrine is to compare it with the New Testament. In fact the NT dismisses much of the claims of the papacy and the RCC! In reality ALL of the dogmas are pagan additions.
You belong to a religion of man-made traditions NOT the apostolic faith! See Matt 5:17-18
IDH77 11 months ago
@IDH77
MrJamesthecatholic 11 months ago
@MrJamesthecatholic Why do you keep asking silly meaningless questions? I've already written that Protestantism didn’t exist back then.
But before the Council of Nicaea NEITHER did Roman Catholicism!
There were only Christians who referred to themselves as catholic!
What didn’t exist were a papacy or a Magisterium. There were only independent congregations in each city.
IDH77 11 months ago
@IDH77
MrJamesthecatholic 11 months ago
@MrJamesthecatholic It does make sense if you know the REAL history of the Church not the make-believe of the RCC.
Roman Catholicism is something that grew with time it didn’t arise fully grown. The Bishops of the Council of Nicaea were for the most part genuine Christian believers and indwelt with the Holy Spirit.
Over the course of centuries it moved away from the teachings of the NT and accepted teachings that were pagan in origin. Transubstantiation, purgatory and the Marian dogmas.

This whole Trinitarian system with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit as well as praying to saints, priests and bishops forgiving sins etc. etc. is a bit confusing. Why can't we just pray to The Creator alone, and not this humans.
Selerzz 1 year ago
@Selerzz I am sorry that the truth is confusing. You should address you concern to God, the Holy Trinity. He is the One who revealed Himself as a Trinity of Persons, and in the Person of His Son, established the Church to continue His work of redemption, including the forgiveness of sins through priests and bishops. You can pray to whomever you wish, but Jesus commanded us to pray with and for each other, and that includes those who live with him now in heaven, i.e., the saints.

@texasboy505 I'm not sure if your comments are directed toward me and my video, or toward another commentor. This should let people know that Catholics only worship God, not Mary, and that Jesus Christ is the only savior of mankind. He is the savior even of Mary by saving her from original sin in her Immaculate Conceptions (watch from 5:10).
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@BosMutusCatholic Bos I hope I won't get blocked by what I'm about to tell you but Mary was not without sin. Her parents were sinners and that makes her one too.
1954phyllis 1 year ago
@1954phyllis By that reasoning, Jesus's (human) parent was not without sin, and so a sinner and that makes him one, too. But this is obviously false, for Jesus is without sin, so as to be a sinless offering for all of humanity. He was born sinless by receiving a sinless humanity from his sinless mother -- who was preserved from sin, and so saved, by the merits of her Son (not from her own merits).

@BosMutusCatholic Mary does not lead people to Jesus the HOLY SPIRIT does.
1954phyllis 1 year ago
@1954phyllis OK, granted. But He uses human instruments, like the Apostles, evangelists, pastors, teachers, parents -- Jesus gave us His mother to be our mother (see John 19:26-27; Rev 12:5, 17). Like any good mother, she leads her children to Christ, and like any good Son, Jesus listens to the requests of His mother.
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@scilynx2 Mother of God? No. Mother of Jesus. Yes.
Why do you pray to Mary?? 1 Tim 2:5.. Any catholic who prays to mary because they are afraid of the wrath of Jesus does NOT know Christ. Needs to read the bible again. Why then? give any answer, it will be unbiblical. To have someone to go to Jesus on your behalf? Why not just pray to Christ?!?! Heaven is not a call center where u need 500 middle men. Go to the LIVING GOD
kedmonton 1 year ago
@kedmonton Why are you still posting 1 Tim 2:5?!? We've explained many times how saints' mediation is part of Christ's mediation as his body. We don't pray to Mary because we are afraid of Jesus, but because we love all parts of his mystical body, and he gave her to us as our mother. Why have saints pray on our behalf? "pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" James 5: 16. That is biblical-even for your (Jewish) King James.
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@BosMutusCatholic Than why not pray to the people in the bible who were actual saints like moses? or aaron? or Daniel even? or joseph Jesus' father? or Mary's grand mother? or what about me, when I die, will you kneel to my dead corpse since I am a saint?
you should research who isis horus and set are. you keep side tracking that bible verse in timothy. ONE mediator does not mean 1000. it means ONE. jesus.. not saints. the son.
ur ignoring that 'ONE mediator' part. one god, ONE mediator.
kedmonton 1 year ago
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@kedmonton If you come to be a saint in heaven, I will ask you, (not your corpse, which at that time will not be you) to pray for me from your place in heaven. I am now, and will be (by God's grace) in heaven, praying for you.

@BosMutusCatholic You can pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus. You really don't need to pray to dead saints. That is necromancy.

We will find salvation sooner going to the mother than going to the Son" (p. 82),"Many things asked of God and not received are asked and received from Mary (p. 82). All obey the precepts of Mary, even God" (p. 115). ALL CATHOLIC LIES!

P.S. read only from the king james version. not from your catholic translations. they change subtle verses like these to suit the doctrines like yours
kedmonton 1 year ago
@kedmonton Where in the bible does it say to use the king james version? That's unbibllical! The same for the Letter of Barnabus: where in the bible does it say not to treat it as inspired (but to treat the Letter to Philemon (or any of the other books of the bible) as inspired)? 'Bible Alone' is unbiblical. The true version is the Catholic version: the Greek which the Catholic church canonized and has preserved for 2000 years. If you want to discusss these points, watch my video "Bible Alone".
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@BosMutusCatholic lmao I'm guessing you just looked up the difference between the King James and your Catholic bible hahaha. The king james bible (King james himself being Jewish) translate from the original greek and hebrew manuscripts. the Catholics RE-WROTE their own manuscripts so long ago.
I think its awesome you're learning this now though.
P.S. 2nd Timothy 3:16, ALL scripture is breathed out by God.. again, only king james :)
Go with God. keep studying
kedmonton 1 year ago
@kedmonton Oh, my! King James was Jewish?!? This would be funny if you were not serious. King James I of England commissioned your translation of the Bible in 1611 for the Church of England. Look it up in the King James Bible online or in the preface to your Bible. I still don't see a reference to the King James version at 2 Tim 3:16 - only scriptures which Timothy knew from childhood, i.e., OT Jewish scriptures. It says nothing about the gospels, letters of Paul, etc (or which ones).
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@BosMutusCatholic It cannot be proven that the Catholic Church is solely responsible for the gathering and selection of the New Testament books. In fact, it can be shown that the New Testament books were gathered into one volume and were in circulation long before the Catholic Church claims to have taken its action in 390 at the council of Hippo.
kiwichristian2009 1 year ago
@scilynx2 Oops, my mistake. I thought you were asking NMikeM for the reference re: prayers of holy men. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Birdseed72 1 year ago 2
@Birdseed72 In1 Tim 2:1-4 Paul tells Timothy to offer prayers for others. Paul is not saying Timothy is another mediator. As a Christian, Timothy is part of the body of Christ, the One Mediator. His prayers are part of Christ's mediation. They do not stop now that he is in heaven and even closer to God (see Rev. 5:8).
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@BosMutusCatholic Paul tells timothy to pray for others who are ALIVE. When you bow and pray to dead people you worship gods of the dead. Why else do you think God is referred to as the living God in the bible?
I don't have much space to type in here, but if you would like bible verses that show the truth that Mary was nothing more than an amazing woman who gave birth to Christ, I would be more than willing. say the word.
Plus you never answered the other guy about 1 tim 2:5.
kedmonton 1 year ago
@kedmonton Don't you mean 'Paul tells Timothy, who is ALIVE, to pray for others'? But if those who die in Christ are alive in heaven (such as Saint Timothy), why shouldn't he continue to pray for us who are on earth?
I don't bow to dead people (I don't know what that could mean). I do pray to those who live with Christ, but I do not worship gods of the dead. I am in the best position to know what I worship. God is the living God, because idols are lifeless (not dead since they never lived).
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@kedmonton Mary did give birth to Christ; this great grace from God should not be dismissed as "nothing more than". Mary is NOTHING LESS THAN the Mother of God, i.e., of Jesus Emmanuel (God-with-us). She is an amazing woman: Most Blessed among Women. The Bible says all generations will call her blessed. Have you called her blessed today? I did answer 1 Tim 2:5. Timothy as mediator (one who prays on behalf of Paul) is not separate from Christ the One Mediator since Tim is of the body of Christ.
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@kedmonton Revelation 5:8 -- "Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones." Who are the 'holy ones' whose prayers the elders are presenting to the Lamb (Jesus Christ) in heaven? If they are the saints already in heaven, these saints must be praying for us who ask them to pray for us. If the 'holy ones' are Christians on earth, the elders (saints in heaven) are presenting our prayers (incense) to Jesus (the Lamb).

If mary was born sinless to bring about Christ's sinless birth.. than wouldnt mary's mother have to be born sinless to bring about HER?, and so forth until the beginning of the genealogy tree?
kedmonton 1 year ago
@kedmonton Mary was preserved from sin (conceived sinless - pre-redeemed) by the merits of Christ, the sinless Lamb of sacrifice. If Mary was not sinless, Jesus would have had to redeem his own human nature in order to offer a sinless sacrifice, which would redeem his own human nature, in order to . . . and so forth -- "but no one can redeem his own life." God could have pre-redeemed many as he did Mary, but he only had to pre-redeem her so he would be the sinless redeemer of all (even of her).
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@BosMutusCatholic You keep forgetting no one is without sin. except christ alone. not to mention Mary gave a SIN OFFERING in luke 2:24.. its blasphemy to think we need anyone other than Jesus for salvation.
kedmonton 1 year ago
@kedmonton Lk 2:24 doesn't imply Mary had sin; even Jesus received John's baptism, which was a baptism of repentence. It'd be wrong to conclude Jesus needed to, or even could, repent, since he was without sin. The temple offering made by Mary was for her ritual impurity from childbirth, and the 'sin' offering was required normally for the marital act which brought about the pregancy. By conceiving as a virgin, Mary didn't have to offer it.
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@BosMutusCatholic The fact remains, she gave a sin offering as per jewish custom. The jews did not do those rituals just for the heck of it. but even if we put that aside, we have sound bible doctrine in 1 kings 8:46, ecclesiastes 7:20, and written AFTER mary was Romans 3:23 and 3:10. Paul never once mentions mary in his epistles.nor anyone else.
another thing if mary was immaculately conceived to bring jesus, than wouldnt HER mother need the immaculate conception and so forth?
its not biblical
kedmonton 1 year ago

Joseph did not Know Her UNTIL she had a FIRSTborn child. not only does this verse prove mary (being full blessed) had more than one child, but she did not remain forever virgin.
read truth my friend
kedmonton 1 year ago
@kedmonton On your reading, the woman of Revelation is the Church, but then the Church gave birth to Jesus?!? No, the woman who gave birth to Jesus is the mother of his disciples. And, she is a type for the Church, the bride of Christ. Oh, please, the Greek word translated as 'until' could just as easily mean 'before', as in English. Same with 'first': this is our first exchange of comments; it doesn't mean we will have more.
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
@kedmonton The woman in revelation is a picture of the Israelite nation as shown in Gen37:9,10 with the sun representing Jacob, the moon his wife Rachel, and the 12 stars representing the tribes of Israel. Christ was born of Israel. The Israelite nation is often referred to as a woman in Isaiah54:5 and Jeremiah31:32.This woman cannot be mary because the woman IS ON EARTH DURING THE TRIBULATION, whereas mary's spirit is in heaven at that time.

Catholics defend one false doctrin after another.
magic038 1 year ago
@magic038 @magic038 Right, pontifex maximus was a pagan high priest in ancient Rome (4th c, BC), that became an honorary title. It wasn't applied to the Bishop of Rome (Pope) until 4th-6th c, AD, but never was, and is not now, an official title of the Bishop of Rome. Don't confuse an over-simplification of the rather complicated history of Rome with Catholic doctrine.
BosMutusCatholic 1 year ago
Anyone notice only the CCC says Mary was bodily resurrected? Anyone find a scripture to support that? BTW I can provide the names of SEVEN POPES who did not believe Mary was sinless. I thought these Popes were infallible in matters of faith. So... what happened? A house of cards, sadly, relegating scripture to the will of sinful men.
SkiesVibrant 1 year ago
@SkiesVibrant Names please. Also, did the context of what they said meet the criteria (ex cathedra) for infallibility? Not everything a pope says, even when about faith and morals, is infallible, only when he is making a definitive statement on what all Christians are bound to believe in faith. The decrees of Ecumenical Councils are the more normal way infallible statements of the faith have been made -- especially divinity/humanity of Christ, Trinity, sacraments, canon of Scripture.

And do you not remember Jesus and his followers warning about the "other" church that was already forming at that time?
magic038 1 year ago
@magic038 Excellent points. There is no scripture that says Mary was sinless, that she was boldily ascended into heaven and so therefore never died. She is not to be prayed to either. It's pure idolatry. If Catholics want to show her respect, I don't have any problem with that. But carrying an idol of her down the aisle of a church is certainly elevating her above God. It's very sad. But for catholics to reject this teaching, they'd have to reject hundreds of others. They won't do that.

That's what all we need to do.

Peter understood with all humility the implications of being only a man. But popes, being only men like Peter, allow multitudes to bow their knees before them, kiss their feet, and reverence them—thereby receiving worship that does not rightfully belong to them.
