  • Yeah, not really a fan of Burdock root. I have had it a couple times, but it has always been a letdown.

  • hi dan, your videos are pretty awesome. i live in brooklyn too, and i wonder where you live because your kitchen looks pretty fucking nice. anyway, i live in sunset park and i saw this vegetable in the chinese grocery store that everybody was going crazy over...mountain yam. or chinese yam. its ugly looking. can you tell me about it?

  • I really like burdock root. I was actually surprised by the taste. I wasn't expecting it to be as mild/sweet as it is. I tend to associate root with bitter, for some reason. haha

  • @tokyoxjapanxfan hm - yea - but potatoes are roots, and they're not bitter, nor are carrots!

  • Don't the Japanese make something called Kinpira with that stuff? I think it's like a cold slaw type deal with finely sliced pieces of burdock and carrot etc. I thought of that when I saw this.

  • in my old restaurant they peled the skin and sliced thin lenghtwise before frying it into long crispy chips to decorate plate

  • Burdock root has been used for years in terms of assisting in pregnancy all the way back to Biblical ages. It also cleanse the blood, I know several of the herbal tonics that I take actually have this in it -- thanks for this video!

  • @ItsMeFawn didn't know! Don't see myself getting pregnant anytime soon… but…. :P
