better in the case of what you want

spb-1 is the best vintage sounding pup for precision. it's just the original tone so well executed.

the spb-3 is made to be modern, with a lot of treble and bass but less of the mids. it makes your p-bass sound a little stringray-ish

the spb-2, i've never tried but i must say it tempts me cause it might give the best of both worlds

but then again, i love the precision mid range so i'm prefectly happy with my spb-1. whatcha wanna play?

I just started bass and I'd like to learn to play this song, however I'm finding that when using a pick at this kind of speed I'm hitting the adjoining string (ie if I hit the A I sometimes knock off the E string and sound that one too). Any tips on playing with a pick for a newbie? Should I pick up-and-down or just down?

i always cover the e string with my finger on the hand on the neck to mute so it never matters if you hit it

@Matty0Gaming - it sounds like you're picking up and down too far, try and keep your wrist/palm on the bass and move your wrist when you pick, don't move your arm too much. Don't have it glued to the bass but keep it where it is. And I'd only suggest down strokes if you're playing Ramones stuff. Just practise playing an open string like the A string for a minute or two before playing.

I do recommend them, though the quarters have more punch and treble

for pure punk like blink, it´s perfect, for more allround tone, the vintage SD is better ;)

yeah anytime man. thats cool how u made a squier sound like a mark hoppus bass. usually those quater pounders and roundwound string would do the trick. recently i redid my american precision. i order a blank white pearl pickguard, and my bass teacher drilled the holes in it, so i made only have on knob near the pickups, i also reverse the pickups like mark did :p

I actually do have SDs in it, but not quater pounders but vintage pups like Mike Dirnt

but I use pretty new Ernie Ball strings so it might be part of the sound
