I've seen many of your videos, and while I was at the store today, I saw these and decided to pick a bunch of them up. I got home and figured I might as well just eat a whole one. Damn that was intense! It was so hot I couldn't help but laugh, because of all of the pain, heat and drool, etc. It was my first experience with eating a hot pepper like this. I'll have to try many more. Now I understand why you guys do this.

I rarely eat a raw pepper. The flavor of the pepper is so short-lived before the heat takes over, but if prepared in a dish the taste lingers much longer. There is nothing more satisfying than having ice cream when the burn is peaking. There is a beauty with peppers, especially the habenero family. The colors are so rich and inviting.

Now its harvesting season at my 'windowsill' and now I always slice a whole hab on every sandwich I eat. Not to bad, warms up a bit. Eating a single on is 10 minutes of trauma for me. You can tolerate the heat but organism always reacts in the same manner - hiccup, sweat, heat explosion down the throat. Cheers anyway ;)

I like to chop them up very finely and put them on homemade pizza with some jalapenos and Peperoncini and lots of cheese. For me, a little bit of the Orange Hab goes a long way and you can definitely tell when you get a chunk with your bite! These things are not Nagas or 7 Pods, but they are quite warm for a novice like me.

I just chopped up one on my pizza with some Jalapenos and some extra cheese to buffer the effect a little. These have a distinct taste and you know when you've hit a bite, but the overall effect was quite nice. I don't eat whole peppers, I just limit myself to chopping them up and adding to my food when I'm cooking. I'm primarily interested in the health benefits.

but I did drink a whole quart of milk and a yogurt.

if you let the milk/yogurt sit in your mouth it helps a lot. Once you swallow it though, the heat comes back.

Bought some of these earlier at the store, and ate one about the size you had there. Could not make it for more than 60 seconds without some milk. Nasty mouth and tongue burn is mainly what I experinced, along with eye watering. Great taste though.

Yes, I agree. I've tried scotch bonnet and it really burns mouth. Maybe it's taste isn't as good as the cayenne (more sour), but it's much, much hotter. Everyhing goes properly until you use a

handkerchief and snorts goes through your nose. It feels like you would put two burning cigarettes into your nostrils. Strangely enough it wasn't so bad on the loo, didn't even feel anything.

Your average Habanero ranges from about 100,000-300,000 scouville's, Where as tobasco is around 3000. If you wanted the effects of a million, then go for a Naga :P

hello from texas. i am growing orange habs and few others, nice heat from the habs, but also have a bitter/soapy taste. do you have any suggestions to rid the bitterness? type of fertilizer? overwatering ? thanks and mad props to you !

thanks, could be a few thngs if in ground or if in pots, prob fertiliser as plants take in whats there eg the fertilser (if using same constant could impart a taste) over fertilizing which would increase phospate levels (like using washing machine water to water) overwatering nope, they don't like that, but won't put tastes in will prob just affect heat levels and amount of growth (will freak out not produce as much, not grow and prob get rooot rot) you will know..

Just wondering though, the pain a bit after after eating 100K+ SHU chilis consists of intense stomach pain for me. I mean, it's not worth the little mouth pain they cause anymore (which I - as you probably do, find enjoyable - and after you gain tolerance for the heat there's not much heat). Sure, I could have yogurt or such to calm that stomach pain, but it takes away from the great mouth burn sometimes. Does this happen to you?

i usually dont have anything for bout 2 hrs after doing anything hab hot+, as its a test i like to wait, and if have anything it would prob stop the mouth burn which i like, and the stomach pain goes after a while anyway or after i eat later(if get mostly not, due to before prep)

well im in australia, got them from USA. and they are HOT as ya can see, If you grew them there prob be as Hot as anywhere else. Ive never Been to Mexico so couldn't say if they are hotter there than here or where you are.They are gonna be hot Anywhere. watch Lord Bhorak do a Savina. He is in Finland and they look as Painful there as they are here :-)
