Peugeot had to be faggots and wreck the tradition but oh well and yeah Audi had to go with the design to keep up performance wise.

Even the caterham r500 can beat it round the top gear test track. It's still pretty ugly as well. i would rather have a Pagani Zonda R, or an Aston Martin One-77, or an Ascari A10. Whats the point in having a very expensive car if you can have no fun driving it?

I'm not a fan of the R18's looks. It is currently testing at Sebring Int'l Raceway right now. I was there about 30 minutes ago. The new Acura ARX and the new Ferrari are also testing.
I bought a brand new A4, and was disapointed with its stock Horsepower of only 211hp, it has great torque... The Turbo sucks the gas like nothing else even for a 2.0 4ltr. They dropped the 3.2 6cyl which is more on par with the likes of BMW. Dont get me wrong I love my Audi... but was a little disapointed at 211hp when most American cars are like 250-300hp
The problem with the Q7 is the expense. No real mass production for aftermarket parts and the price Vs performance just isn't there. We need a optional engine combo for a smaller performance package A3/A4 and we need the performance of the diesel to be more orientated toward speed not MPG.
Man, this car is so damn nice! That huge sharkfin over the enginecover doesn't really look that bad, as far as I know, it's a part of the 2011-regulations for the LMP-1 class. Correct me if I'm wrong!

audi keeps decreasing the size of their engine, in the r10 it was a v12, in the r15 it was a v10 and now in the r18 its a v6 twin turbo. with all their le mans wins, audi appears to know what they're doing, but I still dont get the functionality of the extended front facing wall from the back of the cockpit to the wing. Anyone care to explain how that helps the performance of the car? It seems like wind would hit that huge vertical plane and hurt the car's performance, not help it.
the fastest wind they hit is not nearly as faster as the car which means they will only get "wind" from the front. And if there is any wind faster than the car the race would be suspended, 200km/h per example is already a tornado.
@noHiwayOpTn they are called shark fins, i don't know how they work though. All teams except Hispannia used them in F1 last year, but not so much this year. In F1, they help to flip the car back over as well as better downforce. I'm not sure why they would be used for LMP though, cause surely they generate enough downforce anyway, probably nearly the same as F1 levels. Unless they used that to generate more so that they could reduce downforce on the wings to increase top speed/grip
If Tom Kristensen and Audi doesn't win Le Mans on the track next year, they are certainly bound to win in the style category....

@ShiftUpAGear - It was interesting how many incidents occured at Spa yesterday and that's a 6 hour race, Le Mans is 4 x the length! I read the other day that 90% of the Le Mans circuit is driven under full acceleration, meaning enormous stress on the engines so anything could happen!
@gilberw1 I missed most of the race unfortunately, I only saw the last 1hour 30mins. I'll watch the begining on Eurosport tomorrow, but there was a shed load of accidents. Yeah, there are three streights where the cars reach maximum speed, a fare share of corners though, the main ones being the Porsche Esses (I think that's how you spell it), but the Circuit De La Sarthe is a great race/road track ;)
My friend is trying to tell me the Peugeot will compete against the V6 Diesel in this thing. I don't know. I trust Audi, as I have since I watched the R8's run rampantly around Mosport when they were first released, and I know they'll dominate again.

If Tom Kristensen and Audi doesn't win Le Mans on the track next year, they are certainly bound to win in the style category....

Audi is back but last year or this year they got lucky cuz Peugeot blown up there engines and there still the dominant car to beat but this car will make it tuff for them and Aston Martin secretly working on something

@LightBlueMasta The Peugeot was an endurance car but the Audis were made the Peugeot team push their car too far to last 24 hours... AUDI'S UNDENIABLE RELIABILITY.

@gilberw1 I do remember that sweet victory for them, but it was a shame to see all the cars suffer like that. Thankfully the 908 Sport Plus is looking very promising this year, but we all know anything can happen in an endurance race, especially at the 24 Hours of Le Mans ;)

@ShiftUpAGear - It was interesting how many incidents occured at Spa yesterday and that's a 6 hour race, Le Mans is 4 x the length! I read the other day that 90% of the Le Mans circuit is driven under full acceleration, meaning enormous stress on the engines so anything could happen!

@gilberw1 I missed most of the race unfortunately, I only saw the last 1hour 30mins. I'll watch the begining on Eurosport tomorrow, but there was a shed load of accidents. Yeah, there are three streights where the cars reach maximum speed, a fare share of corners though, the main ones being the Porsche Esses (I think that's how you spell it), but the Circuit De La Sarthe is a great race/road track ;)

My friend is trying to tell me the Peugeot will compete against the V6 Diesel in this thing. I don't know. I trust Audi, as I have since I watched the R8's run rampantly around Mosport when they were first released, and I know they'll dominate again.
