Yesterday I tried to comment on one Puru's videos and of course it was not approved. It's kind of funny how all of the comments on her videos agree with her.

Is there any movement to try and stop users censoring comments on youtube?

IMO youtube has a vested interest ensuring that the comments of any video reflect an open forum.

Otherwise all commenting on youtube has to be viewed possibly corrupted and not a quantifying representation of public opinion. Commenting on youtube will then have no purpose.

There are already mechanisms to prevent hate mongering and spam.

She responded with a direct message:

Their most recent video praising Shock against the Atheist Experience, they challenge people to answer Shock's question and they'd take down the video... so I make a comment. It was "pending approval", so obviously they wouldn't let anything prove them wrong allowed in the comments. Responded to me with insults, blocked me, and didn't allow my comments (basically answered Shock's question AND gave the link to his dishonesty). Either a master troll, or irony knows no bounds.

A month later, he still has the free speech description is still there on that video, but comments are disabled - like they are in a lot of his videos. Free speech fail! Video description fail!

Recently I tried to comment on one of his videos - he had moderation set up for it so comments must pass through him before they actually post onto the video.

My view didn't fit with his view, so I am now blocked. He picks only those comments he can easily refute, or fit his video and blocks the rest.
