  • We need more like this here in the philippines ...

  • Puddle hoppers ? stockpud, I hope your boat sinks some day and you can personally ask a Coasty up close and personal !!! Good luck with that !!! Frmr. U.S.C.G. AD3

  • Mabuhay Pinas NGayon dahil Kay TITO NINOY..

  • so this is it for Philippine navy? i think this is enough for now and add up more every year for the security of the country, though its a good improvement for the Philippine navy! Mabuhay pilipinas!

  • @silentsun7 yes brother and we are buying not one, but 6 of these babies are coming... mid august...

  • @silentsun7

i think you were referring to the older hamilton class cutter. this thing is quite new....

  • Pinaka modern ang oto malera gun yan!!!!Ayos!!pwedeng anti-ship missle yan!!!Gege..ok lang kahit 2nd hand basta deadly!

  • @kabarkada18 i want TO SERVE MY COUNTRY ON BOARD A WHEC!! Gusto ko sa kahit anung sister ship ni PF15 GDP!!

  • what do the puddle hoppers need such a big boat?

  • @stock02s10 To conduct the law enforcement squids aren't allowed to do.

  • USCG is under Homeland Security and is part of the military that's why.

  • i was thinking about joining the coast gaurd...im not really interested in going to alaska, so would it be possible to stay within your state? example; i live in nyc so would i be able to stay in ny?.....thanks

  • @sparklerbombg yes it is possible to stay in nyc. talk to your recruiter about staying in your area. there are several stations and cutters in and around the new york state area so there shouldnt be a problem in getting district one(new england states). Any more questions just ask.

  • Pretty big ship for Coast Guard, practically a destroyer, impressive.

  • @pspboy7

Closer to a frigate in size.

  • two hilo hangers, nice.

  • How many of these are they planning to build?

  • These ships have other armaments other than the 57mm.

  • OK I Wanna go for a Ride !!!!!

  • Looks nice and white...looks like they keep the Seaman painting her over and over lol

I wonder what the engine room is like in her tummie :D

  • i love the 57mm on her. that gun is sweet!

  • i think its actually a 77 mm

  • its 57mm, the old ones had 76mms, Why did they downgrade?? why take off armament?

  • im asking myself the same question??? anyone knows?

  • The 57mm cannon is a vast improvement over the 76's. The 57's can be programmed to air-burst for ship or airborne targets.....they take up less space with easier access to the gun!

  • Research it for your answers

  • @Selino25 not really a downgrade, that 57 fires much faster then the older 76mm. last thing you want to face is a rapid fire 57mm cannon lol.

  • I served aboard a 255 that was 20 years older than me and most of my shipmates. This cutter looks like a palace compared to it. BUT, I understand the newer cutters have a much smaller ships compliment - which means more burden upon each Coastie aboard. Still, it would be a thrill to serve aboard her.

  • nice!!!!!

  • Beautiful boat, er, ship. (A wise retired U.S. Navy captain once told me "what's the difference between a boat and a ship? You can put a boat on a ship, but you can't put a ship on a boat.") Should be a worthy successor to the Hamilton-class.

  • Is this the Cutter that is breaking into, coas the tx payers a bundal. W32 Campbell and the W36 Spencer never had this kid of problem,,of course they where built during WWII

  • Is this the new cutter that is breaking into, cost the tax payers a bundle.....only to find out that it isn't seaworthy. The W32 and the W36 never had these problems. You Coastis know what ships I'm talking about

  • She looks great. I served on WHEC 715, hopefully this one won't have issues with the sewage, or the main space, or electrical, or anything else that could go wrong! lol

  • That is a great looking ship. I served on GALLATIN and DALLAS, if she is half the ship as those, the CG is getting their money's worth!!!

  • "first national security cutter"...STUPID.

What coast guard vessel ISN'T for national security? God damn. Not all of us are sheep, you know.

  • Perhaps you have never heard of the recently formed Dept. of Homeland Security. They helped get this new cutter all the coolest, latest and greatest electronics and weaponry. These new cutters aren't just for save'n people and stopping drugs anymore. They are all out warships.

  • wait... you said "They are all out warships" please explain this, I am confused since they took a 57mm over the 76mm they used to have on the older versions? pus i dont think they still have the 25mm guns on the sides?

  • That is a thing of beauty! Let's hope she runs as good as she looks.

  • sweet ride

  • I can't wait to see the Bertholf in Alameda.

  • pretty nice

  • Looks kinda like a Sherman class WHEC with the breezeways enclosed. Semper Paratus!

  • sweet ride

  • Those ships look a lot bigger up close..

  • sweet
