@florajie You should also feed them a special diet alongside the fruits, such as HPW. HPW is very easy to make and cheap and with time, the diet will help the staining fade. You can find the recipe a lot of places online and there is also a video right here on youtube on how to make HPW. You can also learn a ton at GliderCentral. Once you start feeding HPW or another recommended diet (found on GliderCentral), with some fresh fruits and veggies, the staining will go away.
@sweetReaper HPW will also help keep gliders smelling a little less stinky, and will make their fur very very soft. One of my rescue gliders came to me very stained and within a month of starting HPW, I was starting to see a difference. You can part the hair and look at the hair follicle too by the way, to see the staining. The base of the fur should be white and not brown or yellow when you part the fur and look close to the skin.
It's great the way the desk and chairs at the back of the video are in sharp focus, while the animals are blurred the whole way through.

The one that comes to my house is same color as grey squirrel. East Tn. area. He has a little fat white belly.

They brown is staining. It usually comes from improper diet. Whaqt diet do you feed your gliders?

@sweetReaper
alternate: coconut, apple, melon, mealworm, papaya, banana, mandarin orange, grape, watermelon

actually i like grey, but when they grew up their started to turn brown.... could it be they got dirty?
florajie 2 years ago
It could possibly be you just got the cinnamon color of sugar gliders. I heard somewhere as they get older their color gets darker or something

@florajie They are like cats, they bathe themselves. These are cinnamons; completely normal. They are actually more valuable than regular greys.
