This video is completely biased and doesn't represent the reality that is living Colombia...The reason why the guerrillas have no popular support is simple, because of their own actions. Kidnapping, drug trafficking, recruitment of minors, extorsions, and attacks to the civil population came not only from the paramilitary side but also from the FARC. The guerrillas in colombia have no ideals anymore Is all about money and the need to control the drug business.
@rogeiroSANTOS It is not biased. It does not claim that the guerillas are squeaky clean. In fact it is the media, both national and international coverage, of Colombia that is biased. They consistently attack the immorality and crimes of the guerrillas, yet ignore the contribution of the military and their paramilitary networks. Human rights groups have actually found that paramilitary groups in Colombia are responsible for 80% of the massacres, and to be be bigger players in the drug trade.
Furthermore, these paramilitary networks were set up on the advice of the U.S. under the Kennedy administration. I am not defending the FARC, and certainly not the ELN, but it is time the world realises that the major crimes and human rights violations are committed by the government and funded by U.S. aid. All of this is just another footnote in the U.S. foreign policy of protecting their economic interests regardless of the human cost.
