Nice guitar brother.. I built a warmoth tele last year, and put a DiMarzio True Velvet in the neck and have it completely shielded to hell and back so there's almost no noise at all. I LOVE the tone on it, but that neck pickup does sound slightly better to me. Why does it look like one of your 12th fret dots isn't there? lol
Man, jimi may have made the strat a monster, but I would take a tele over a strat anyday. Great demo. I have a 91' strat plus. I gonna sell it and I will own a tele. Don't get me wrong. I like a strat. But a tele's tone draws you to it. Do you own a strat? Rock on.
Hello. Do you still have the guitar? Are you happy with it? I am considering buying a Tele and this model is at the top of my list, but I noticed Fender have a newer model (2010) which is supposed to have new pickups and a compounded fretboard.
Great review, thanks. Are teles easier playing than most other electrics. Everyone I see playing a tele makes it look so effortless. Thanks again mate.
Hey I was thinking alot of time of getting an electric guitar. So I can't decide which ONE to get. I'm thinking to get a guitar with floyd rose, but don't want an Ibanez. Which one to get?
Bound Tele's give me wood....and after looking at this one, I don't need no stinking Viagra. But Juca, what ain't fair is....your mic is picking up the actual acoustic sound of the strings being strummed...which is a great sound, but not 'accurate'. Demo'ers should use a mic on the amp, and a separate talk-mic that should be turned off when you play. Love your style...
@ROCKSTARCRANE You are right :) But for now its all I can do...But I think I got lucky with the camera, because it does not affect the sound too much.
Purchased my 2007 for $1250 cdn,now sells for $1700,best guitar I have, purchased a custom shop custom classic 2008 stratocaster and after 16 months the frets are worn to the point you can feel the sharpness at the edge, the deluxe telecaster has nice tall fat frets that have hardly worn after 3 years,I am using a TS808HW and a Lonestar Special with 5751 preamp tubes, sounds awesome.
this guitar looks so fuckin good, especially with the white binding. just like the comments below me i wonder what this sounds like with some heavier distortion.
Dude you can play whatever you want with any guitar. Sometimes doing something different from the norm can be better. John 5 plays shred metal on a Tele.
@Guitargawd13 Yes... Robert Plant uses a telecaster for Stairway to Heaven.. U can use any guitar for anything.. but wat i really love in the Tele's rock tone is whenu put the gain somewhere on 5 or 6 and the treble high and the bass on 5 and u get a really good crunch from it, sounds like Malcolm Young of AC/DC and Izzy Stradlin from GNR
I have the same guitar and I am hugely disappointed with the pickups, they are noiseless but they don"t give a true tele tone. I really like the look and feel of this guitar so I am going to change the SCN pickups to Joe Barden pickups, then it will have a true vintage telecaster tone.
man im so getting this thing. I wish they made it in Candy apple or the Crimson wtf is wrong with fender making such a nice guitar without a WIDE range of colors.
i'm deciding between fender american deluxe tele or strat...
i like your review cause you gave me an impression of tele that this guitar could sound without being too "twangy." your solo setting on neck was so warm yet screaming with articulation!..
did you have your tone know all the way open?
what is your setting on vox? maybe it was the amp lol
@echph7 The tone knob was bit backwards. The Vox has a Huge sound, very good indeed! ;) My settings on the vox are so regular, since it has only a "tone" knob on the clean channel ;) Many Thanks!!!
Juca, could you please comment on the playability of the Deluxe verses the Highway One. Obviously hardware is different, but please describe the feel. Thx. Another great review BTW.
Hi,Many thanks! I'm not going to lie to you.The feel of the neck is similar, wich is good, but to be honest, its the guitar that worked best so far with my vox...none of my guitars came close so far tone wise...I was melted with the sound! Is very different from the Highway one.I really LIKED it a LOT! The sound and feel are superb, and I never thought they would be so different... The highway is very good, and I think with some nice pickups it will improve a lot.But this is something else...
Thx for the quick reply. I'm considering purchasing a Highway One, and plan to swap the bridge pickup for a TV Jones Classic, obviously making a bridge swap necessary as well. If playability is close enough then I'll likely opt for the Highway One. I don't see the sense in paying extra for a Deluxe or Am. Standard when I plan to make some upgrades anyways. Keep posting, your playing and feedback are excellent.
really really nice, but i prefer a strat myself ;) i like your amp as well. I now have one of your previous amps, the Engl screamer, very nice too. you inspire me ;)
Very nice guitar. I've got a Deluxe Stratocaster. You're right that the S-1 switch only works in the middle position. It switches the pickup combination from parallal (like on most telecasters) to series (like the 2 coils of a humbucker). Those pickups are the SCN pickups (samarium cobalt noiseless), and really make no noise at all. They're really great.
Looks just like my Squire Classic Vibes Custom....half the price....sounds great tho

ive a question , is this guitar epic for blues and funk and jimi hendrix music? Or do i have to look for a fender roadworn?
