I had the privlege of working the road crew with these guys. RIP Tony and I hope the rest of the guys are healthy. Jeff Baker used to play with my band Moss Back Mule and is coming home this weekend for a few reunion shows. Can't wait!
OMG, I did not know Tony was gone. Tony lived in Ky during the 70's and early 80's before moving to Atlanta. In 83 I moved to Atlanta and hung out with Tony at his house and was with him at his wedding. He had the band limo and driver who's name was also Tony took me out on the town for my 30's birthday. I travelled with the band once during thier debut. I will miss him always. A super person and a great friend.
I got to see them perform a couple of times in the mid-80's in East Texas...they would always close the show with this. Awesome group, and there won't ever be another one like them!
If you like ATLANTA write, email, call MCA Records in Nashville...make them release a greatest hits cd!!! There is no reason why a group that sold 1.7 million records should not have anything on the market now. PLease do it! Pass it on.
We will all miss Tony,,, a great guy who was often larger than life to those who knew him. I hope this video stands as a testament to his singing talent.
@bmwdr I met Tony Ingram in West Palm Beach at the South Fla. fair after they performed. He was the most awesome man I've ever met. Before they left West Palm, they invited us to see them perform in Ft. Meyers Tony dedicated the song Pictures to me . After that we saw them in Ft. Pierce, Rainsville,Al. and Hallandale, Fla. You will be in my heart always Tony Ingram.
I remembered that part.. that was the best part.. anyone got a copy with the spoken part in it? please post it here.. I listened to them everyday in alabama back in 85..
