I saw this magnificent group play at the Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday 8th May 2010. It is the greatest music I have ever heard played in my 64 years of life.
This is beautiful...enchanting. Iv'e always loved Charle's sound on tenor and Zakir is the premeire drummer on the planet. Long live Charles Lloyd and his ever flowing musical spirit!
too bad the drum solo is edited and spoken over..it's one of the most amazingly musical solos I've heard. If you don't have the cd of this concert, "Sangam" GET IT!!!
no. but if you email (ddooth at mac dot com) or visit his website (charleslloyd dot com) you can purchase an excellent DVD by his wife, filmmaker Dorothy Dooth called "Charles Lloyd: Memphis in Egypt." It's really great!
