  • which programme me is it ?

  • Hi Howard. thanks for the tutorials. Question for you. What keystroke are you using to show the before and after in your videos? Thanks in advance.

  • I am new to the finer art of photoshop, this and other videos have been an eye opener, The CLICKING of the keyboard CAN be annoying to some, but I find it enhances the whole thing-I don't know why.

  • tbh, she looked better before..

  • NOW uhm were can i get the book

  • these would be better if you spent more time on the subject at hand and less going over the very basics in EVERY video.

  • wait wait wait... is Tutcast and iceflowstudios the same???

  • @321beth321 yes

  • she looks kind of ugly afterwards because her face was already photoshopped

  • cool thatz nice

  • it was amazing...

  • it was amazing and trying to learned a lot..tnx to you!!!

  • The clicking is ennoying

  • no wonder so many poor girls have eating disorders :(

  • no wonder so many poor girls have eating disorders :(

  • Excellent; she looks just a little less human.

  • annoying mouse clicking....

  • One of the worst edits i've seen in a tut

  • @Geoponic It's a pretty good edit within 6mins

  • Ummm.... you didn't even retouched her lol

It's the same picture along the whole video..

  • what the hell was the 2 extra vector mask for?

you didn't even touch it nor did you need it..

it would have the same effect without the vector mask on the curves layers...totally unnecessary

  • No need for vector mask. Adjustment layer comes with mask already. Sorry, but this tut is poor.

  • how can i do it in real life?????? ;)

  • @DAskinnyMOMMA go back in time and have an abortion.

  • fab video, thanks for sharing!

  • I. Need. THIS. How many times have I thought I've taken the perfect picture, and then realize I have a giant zit between my eyes? Gah!

  • うわあ!

  • I'm afraid the before is warmer looking, the after is really psychotic looking.

  • 3:24 ... birds?

  • why do you need two layer masks for each curve adjustment layer (4 in total)? you´re only using 1 per curve adjustment layer anyway, right?

  • what version of photoshopr is this ?

  • You made her look like a trannny.

  • Congrats, you made her look like an aneorexic man o_O still a cool effect tho

  • VIST FOR BASIC PHOTOSHOP TUTORIALS

  • very well done. thank you.

  • pretty cool. not over done and easy to follow

  • Nice job. It was a quick tutorial that has opened my eyes to what can be done simply!!!

  • what an annoying clicking sound.

she looked pretty sweet and genuine at first but after you photoshopped her, the original looked so freaking fat -_-'

  • nice goin bro, just saw 3 of ur tutorials, GREAT JOB....THANKS!!!

  • Hey Buddy u are the best . I subscribed to ur channel but plz also show tutorials fpr photoshop 7.0.....

  • @hackstermaster PHOTOSHOP FOR MORONS! :D

Apparently, we are all morons. Yay~ XD

  • thanks this is helpful and I subscribed to your tutorials :)

  • you are the best!

  • Looks a bit like Jodie Foster in Bugsy Malone (Tallulah)

  • Why do you always say that you don't want to waste our time? This is a tutorial.. obviously you're not wasting our time if we want to learn about it

  • she looks like a man in both. just not a good picture :P

  • Hey there, im loving these tutorials, but i unfortunately dont have Photoshop, i have Gimp. Now all the other tutorials worked in gimp, except this one. What is Gimp's version of Liquify, or a tool where you can move pixels like this?

  • Could someone tell me the name of this girl?

  • Comment removed

  • @JohnyFront Is it Hayley Hasselhoff?

  • @K8elicious Thank you very much k8elcious!! :D

I didn't expect that she's actually fat in real life :(

  • congratulations! u made a perfectly beautiful woman become a tranny.

  • very nice photoshop skills.

  • The clicks remind me of horses :D

  • wow, thanks for the tutorial. its very useful for me.

  • I have become a big fan of yours. You make it easy, simple and fun. If only you know how much I have learnt from your videos in a space of 2 weeks. I would like to see you put all your videos together in a dvd for sale. You should be well rewarded for your talents.

  • It's so cute when he said " Imma increase the opacity a little bit ." *opps , too dark* "hmm... maybe decrease it a little bit more."

  • wat kind of program did he used?

  • @junixii

    photoshop

  • @junixii the program kind i tink..

  • @junixii Photoshop CS4

  • there was no need to make a new vector mask

  • The girl is more beautiful before!

    You've just ruined her face...

Btw could anyone can give me her name?

  • Great tutorial!

I photoshop people for fun, but I'd never do myself. I'm pretty comfortable with how I look, but if I saw how beautiful I COULD look, then I probably wouldn't be satisfied. :]

  • because of your tutorials...now im eager to buy software for this photoshop cs4...whaaahhh! i really love it...but can you please tell me where can i download it for free,,,lol...pleaseeeeeeee......

  • @einjhel1020 you can't get it free, unless its pirated :(

buuuuuuuuuut you can get 30 DAY TRIALS

  • @einjhel1020 You can pirate it if you want it for free, but that's techniacally illegal... What the hell, who cares about that? XD IT'S EXSPENSIVE! XD

  • Photoshop For Morons!! Haha..

Id love to be called MORON if it means viewing great tutorials such as this. :)

  • what the fuck is he using an ancient mouse. thats a really loud mouse clicker.

  • What a wonderful tutorial *-*

  • tnx for posting your vdeo. can't wait to try your technique:D

  • awesome! thankss

  • wow, great use of curves to apply highlight and shadows! Will definetely use that in the future.

  • the structure change made her face much more masculine

  • I love all your video's they are great and it is definately not a waste of time I could sit at my computer all day and watch different videos on photoshop . Just wanted to tell you that you are the best............

  • it must sound really stupid but i can't get my mask to turn black, i did hit the control and delete button and made my background black but it just didnt work!

    HELP!

  • Did you follow the instructions carefully? First you have to click on the "add new fill or adjustment layer" icon at the bottom right portion of your screen, then select "curves" and adjust the curve like Howard does in the video. After that, click on the "add a vector mask" icon which is also on the bottom right portion of your screen. Then -- making sure your background color is black -- press Ctrl + Delete. This will turn your layer mask thumbnail black.

  • thank you so much Louisiana

    it work :)

  • You're welcome. Glad I was able to help :-)

  • lol the after photo looks more realistic then before

  • which hotkey do you use to toggle the original image with the new one? 1:55

  • please i cant find a delet touch to press to have a black mask ... there is another way to do it ? ....pleaaaaaaase :) ....thank you so much

  • i think it is a waste of time...

the definition with the highlights can be easily achieved with the burn and dodge tools with the opacity required!

it's a complicated thing to use many masks and layers!

  • yes but you damage the photo with dodge/burn

  • I'll tell you right now if you have a republican ad up , I'm clicking on it ... if money flows out of his pocket into yours that's good by me. Thanks for all the help.

  • Its good how you make the before pics look like the edited ones lol

    very good work

  • Great tutorial, what a difference this makes!

  • how can i get that ring-tone at the beginning & wt program r u using to do the tutorial

  • @belal1988 Photoshop :)

  • Very helpful technique. Thank you.

  • looks like someone plays world of warcraft :P

  • Just like so. :))

  • t'waz awesome.

  • you don't have to make a vector mask... the curves adjustment layer comes with a layer mask, and that's what you use in this tutorial...

  • it takes away from her smile dont you think?

  • Its funny, because I thought she looked awesome before you retouched her. Then when you made her...skinnier and switched back and forth, I thought she looked so pudgy in the original o_o

  • @JaZerGames

haha, I was thinking the same thing...

  • So true. Although, I would never take in a cheek bone. Cheek bones are your friend. Chins are not. Now she has an uneven chin situation. Another good thing to do is add highlights under the arch of the eyebrows and on the cheeks.

  • @JaZerGames True dat.......

  • @JaZerGames same o.o i was like " she doesnt look so ba- WHA?!" she looked so big switching back to before and after o.o my eyes were like @.@

  • ...Her face reminds me of rabbits...

  • very nice :) thank you for all the tips!

  • Nice work !!!!!!

  • nice technique for retouching. maybe the result wasn't best possible but it is good lesson and that's what counts for someone willing to learn photoshop.

  • how does he do that at 1:55 - 1:58? please tell me

  • it was undo (Alt+Z) to show you before and after retouching

  • or you could you could use the history window and click between your different actions.

and even then, i thought it was ctrl z for "undo"

  • Click on and off to the edited layer.... leaving the original layer underneath....

  • in every layer theres like an 'eye' at its left, so u just click it and the layer wil hide or show again :)

  • That clicking is really annoying.

  • Agreed. I never understood why people enjoy that. But this was a good tutorial though.

  • Have you noticed how many times he says "Just like so."? Haha, it's kinda funny.

  • keep your own frustration, don't share it with the world

  • what version you are using mine is cs4 photoshop maybe you are using diffrerent version. looking forward t oyour rsponse soon thanks

  • Apple version

  • nice tips, thanks

  • uh.. the shape of her face in the after looks like she has a really square and strong jaw and its masculine, thats disgusting.

  • Did anyone else hear birds around 3:25?

  • bongga!

  • very usefull thank you

  • Very useful, thank you!

  • when you look at the after for a while, and then look at the before, she almost looks fat!

  • Very artfully done, but it seemed unnecessary...her face was lovely to begin with!

  • which version of adobe are u using here is it photoshop?

  • Haha, the clicking on your laptop starts to get kinda enoying haha xD :P

  • Really nicely done : )

  • I have to agree.. -.-

  • I can't understand... how to make the curve layer black.... "by clicking.." can you explain to me??

  • when you heard him click, he was just switching layers. to make the layer black you just hit delete, making sure your background color is black.

  • thank you :)

  • Thanks!

  • i think she looks worse, she has a jaw like a man now

  • befor she looked better you made her ugly!!

  • yeah!

but he made her fake thiner. =P but i hate the highlights

  • i feel asleep to this video. not that its bad i was just tired.

  • uhhhh.... it looks like she has a beard

  • thats really cool! how do u do the before and after thing and where do you get your pictures from?

  • I Guess he took the photos himself

and the before/after thing is just the history- on the navigator to the right just select 'history' instead of 'histogram'- or something like that, I haven't used photoshop in a while

  • I kind of thought she was hot before you supposebly "fixed" her.

  • lol

  • Poor lady!! I don't know why really.

  • i thought she looked better before the retouching. nothing wrong with natural beauty.

  • If your doing professional photography, yes there is :)

  • its not so much that the persons beauty is the problem, its what people in general interpret what "beauty" is. a few touch ups here and there i can understand, its the really significant changes that make it unfortunate that we live in a society where we are feed lies.

  • jesus! that's only a tutorial!he needed some kind of picture to use.why take stuff so seriously?

  • I'm not arguing so much about the photo he used, more about the overall issue of photo retouching in general. The picture he used is just fine and he can do whatever he pleases with the picture. I'm talking about how pictures are photoshoped in magazines and other high profile photographs. sometimes it is just way to much! and distracts from the real beauty of the person in the photo.

  • what photoshop are you using to do this?

it isnt CS4, cause im using CS4, and i cant do that! :(

    help? xx

  • Maybe you just don't know how?

Seriously. I have CS4 and can do this.

  • If you really wanted us to see how good it could get, without wasting our time. Then you could have easily just spend hours retouching it and show us the finished product, at the end of this tutorial!

  • ahahaha this guy made me lol

  • looks more like a man afterwards
