@44Tapout Most of these are custom built to look more realistic. I've never tried building one with that short of a budget but I know you would be able to buy a used truck for that amount. Do some research on rccrawler so you can decide exactly what truck you want. I think Axial SCX10 chassis/axles are hard to beat for their value. A ready-to-run version can be purchased for around $350. They also make a kit called the "Dingo" that's cheaper but you'll have to supply some extra parts.

Anything from axial is top notch, you could start with a ax10 , those are scale crawlers in the vid mostly . The wraith is cool too and a xr10 would stomp any of those shown. Don't skimp on the steering servo either !

@Bowprodigy93 Look for a used truck or $300 exactly will get you an RTR Axial Honcho. Do some looking around but that's a good start and you can always change the body to something else more scale down the road.

i just got my SCX10 Jeep (Trail Honcho wasnt in stock).

Only regret is the Honcho comes with aluminum suspension parts, but thats the fun, now i get to buy the colored ones to upgrade!

@adamnorvell There are so many varying factors that drive price. Take a look on rccrawler. There's tons of vendors there that offer products for sale. Axial makes a ready-to-run Scale truck called the SCX-10. Possibly the best place to start your search. I suggest a kit however because it's valueable to know how to fix the truck when something breaks.

@pigeonfarmboy not exactly true. If you do a search for nitro rock crawler they exist. A "gearing" issue is easily solved. Heat is the other issue (fan required) maybe a liquid cooled rig simliar to the tcs system. 4 stroke is probably a must... The real issue is the cost would be in the 1000+ range to do it right.

@TheGreasegetter One of the easiest ways to use a 1/10 hardbody is with an Axial SCX-10 kit. There's tons of different options. It's really best to check out other people's builds on rccrawler to get a better idea of the direction you want to go with your own build.

they should have scale engines and transmissions you would need special filtered gasoline or diesel but it would be so awesome especially if the diesel made black smoke when you poured on ther gas

Depends how much mAh your battery has. Higher the number the more capacity it has. A 4200mah lipo on a 55t truck will average about 2 hours of run time.

The more turns on a motor wind the slower it is. But, torque/power also increases. The most commonly used crawler motors are 45t and 55t. You can feed more power through a 35t to get more power and speed and like-wise with a 65t on the other end of the spectrum.
