  • @Simangel1307 check out this video instead it explains things a bit better. FnNvCuZ6SMw

  • its called lattice method -____- you just drew the square isdeways.

  • @alphabroly28 thanks, it's not the first time i reinvent an alternative methode of doing math and it's always nice to know theres a name for it :)

  • @AJenbo oh ok :)

  • How do I do if I have one three digit number and one with two digits?

And how about two, three digit (or more) does it work the same way?

And if I get two, two digit numbers in the two in the middle and a one digit number above thoose, which of the four is the one supposed to be over?

  • This is just like the lattice method but with less lines to draw

  • Awesome!! I'm still a bit confused on which numbers go where, though.

  • i think its best, if u no how to do this with abacus, its lot easier with abacus, vedic math is quite complicated, i've herd, but thanks anyway......

  • NICE !!!

A Little bit too late for me. But im still interested in things like that...

  • I have been playing around with this and found it hard to find how the numbers match up, so I started using zero as a place holder in front of single numbers and it helped alot.. This makes huge multiplication very easy.

  • yeah i agree with pimpnkon

  • i think its great. very creative and you dont find much creativity that is counted as being accurate either in math...

  • 99²=98x100+1²=9801

    thats because 98x100=(99-1)x(99+1)=99²-1²

    far more faster.

  • It works , but I still find that the fastest way to calculate is how we usually do , 651

    x 12

    ---------- 1302

    + 651.

    ----------

    = 7812

But as it says the vedic method help to avoid calculations with big numbers and turn'em into simplified ones ^^

  • ... Window method of multiplication

  • omg i like this it is just simply amazing im goin to teach it to all my friends even if they dont care to learn it lol

  • Don't be so hard on them. lol

  • Nice tip.

  • it's faster to calculate 100 x 99 and then subtract 99 instead of drawing it like this :/

  • @Werwolf2x There are exceptions, but many are far more complex. Like 54x76 or something

  • impresive! Making us Hindu mathematicians proud.

  • This is basically how everybody performs long multiplication.

  • I find that differen't methodes works bettere for different situations, it may also vary from person to person.

  • quite confusing but i got it. hehehe tnx men. try to investigate how it is done. hehehe who invented this one?

  • It was precented by Jagadguru Swami Sri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji Maharaja, but this is my own partuclare spin on it.

  • thank you. actually i have already presented it to my fellow math teachers. and they asked me to teach them how it is done.

  • :o oh i guess this would be a good time for me to re do the video then :)

I was asked to at one time in class to show the rest of the class who i did all my alternate calculation, my teacher had a hard time figuring out my methods but could verify my results :D

  • CAN SUM1 explain the rules?

  • Basically, in this video the person is multiplying the numbers on each column and then adding the numbers vertically with carry over numbers included.

Look up Vedic Math, you can find a lot of info. I think vedic math is awesome.

  • Very nice... you don't know how useful this is going to be.

  • it looks hard but i believe if you slowdown the video and explain will be more understanble.

  • this is hard, after you do the inside how do you come up with the final answer? add? doesn't say anyhting,, bad video

  • Well as I mentioned you should take a look at one of the other related videos to better understand it, and yes you just add the numbers.

I was at work when I made the video so I didn't have much time and only paint to do it with.

  • And thus, simple mathmatics suddently seem to be of some help.. It's a neat trick!

  • Glad to see that some one is finding it usfull :)

  • cooooooooooooL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ouaaaa

  • Cool! Thanks, man, it's relly helpfull!

  • I have come to the revelation that vedic multiplication is very similar to using Napier method of multiplcation.

  • Namaste

  • cool

  • First of i made a mistake in my introduction text, i ment to say "or" not of, there might be othere mistakes in there as well im not to good with spelling :P

You might ant to check out some of the othere regulare vedic math videos to better understand what i'm doing or do it on papir while you watch this (use the pause button).
