Quelle belle enfance. C'etait a Ferke, en Cote d'Ivoire. Ah le bon vieux temps. Vive YOUTUBE
Mopero wa Maloba was obviously artistic in his own respect. Unique style from vocals to instruments to the melody. It's very puzzling how Zaire (I love the name) produced these talents at a time when it was having a share of it's own political instability. These guys survived hard and trained hard to reach these levels without meaningful earnings. They suffered and thrived in very poorly-managed economies. TODAY their family members are left with almost nothing. Very sad and yet they were BEST!

Those lazy sunny days in eastern Nigeria.
Radio Nigeria Enugu had a one hour slot at 1 pm for music from the Congo.
The sweetest music in the world!

This was the music of my youth in Nigeria.
Egwu ndi Congo (congo music) ruled eastern Nigeria for more than 2 decades!
It's influence can be seen in the a lot of so called Nigerian music.
Listen to , Terry g, j martins, timaya, bracket, and a host of other Nigerian musicians and you will find their roots are in Congo music of the 70's.
