while listening to this song, i am reminiscing my high school years...it reminds me of someone i once loved but we separated ways because of DECEIT...Thank you crossover for posting songs of '70s, '80s...they don't fade away......... BEEH '73
THIS SONG IS ORGINALLY FROM THE TEMPTATION LIVE ALBUM "AT THE COPA" 1968AD, with Dennis Edwards, Melvin Franklin, Otis Williams and EDDIE KENDRICKS on leads!
This cut however sounds different from the album recording, though. Side 1 was there classic Motown comositions; Side 2 were masterful renditions of George Gerhwin as not wven he could have imagined.
@Atomank68 This song is originally from the Temptations' In A Mellow Mood Album, from 1967, when all three lead singers, David Ruffin, Paul Williams, and Eddie Kendricks shared the leads equally. The Live AT The Copa Album was a year later after David had departed. The Mellow Mood album was intended to land the Tempts mainstream engagements, and supper clubs, such as the Copa.
@renaissanceman165. With regards to the Tempts "With These Hands" studio vs."Live at the Copa" performance, and the personell changes: I have known this since I purchased the latter album when it came out in 1968AD. It's such an iconic album, with the performers rendering unforgettbly both Motown and Gershwin classics. I'm simply partial to all the "Copa" performances here, especially Dennis Edwards and the late Paul Williams' rendition of "For Once In My Life". We all, truly miss these guys!
Hi crossover70s.. I've been a fan of your videos in you tube, thanks for sharing your vast collection.. I'm also an avid collector of songs in the '70s but I can't seem to find a copy of this song "With These Hands" by the Temptations, as well as "I've Got You Under My Skin" by Franki Valli and the Four Seasons, "A Love For All Seasons" and "Valley of The Dolls" by the Arbors.. Where do you think I can download these songs to add to my playlist?
