This dude is a cyborg from the future. No human got reflexes like that :p Anyway, only managed to somewhat perfect one track(number 3 in this video, valparaiso) in this game back in the days but that was only cause I used to have time-trials with my friends on that track. Good game and had a very good sense of speed back then. Actually no other racing game was close to this conserning sense of speed when this came out I think.

Can these shortcuts be done in XL? I'm aware of speed differences, you can top 400 in 2097, basically impossible to do in XL, but is that just speedometer-wise?

don't use cheatcodes like infite shield and speed, it's not meant to be played like this in Wipeout. Finding an exploit within the game( like going through a wall) to allow you to gain 1 or 2 sec on a 25 sec lap that's ok with my conscience, but running for a seven sec lap allowed by CFW & a code, that is bullshit , imnfho.

@spazjonez One of the cooler things about HD is if you pull out the thrust when you hear a quake just behind you, you actually ride on the quake itself. I still prefer 2097/XL, but I think that was the first time you could literary ride the wave which was very cool.

yeah this to me felt a prediction of future to come. Ive played all the other anti grav games but this feels more kick ass. Its the music as well the whole feel to 2097 feels retro/cool like watching blade runner for the first time ect. Fusion didnt have this. It had the tracks but lacked that depth that this had.

Funnily enough many pilots i know share the same point of view : HD got stunning graphics it's smooth with 60 fps in full hd but speed feeling is still faster on 2097/XL side.

Actually if you pitch down your dpad you can up your nose of your ship and let you go through walls if your speed is enough high and also if you find the right path thru it ( watch out there's a wuss wagon if you go too far away ;) )

Oh and last precision : Stop playing with your Dpad controller and go for a Negcon ( google it you ll see)

No i am not using cheat here, those walls cut were a 'bug' of the game itself, usually there's a wuss-wagon which pick you up and put your ship into the track if you are cutting walls or if you go too far out from the track but if you can find the right position to cut it's possible, that's why it's rewarding imo.

about WZ tables record it's based on trust system but that has happended in the past to ask special proof of what you are doing.

Practice leeds to perfection... Negcon is one the best way to achieve that goal :)

As i said on previous 2097 videos , i ve been playing that game since the early beginning, using a Negcon controller. I simply love that game and his american version called XL. ( still playing them nowadays and still learning new things myself : it's a neverending love story :D

To have our own screen and not splitted when playing ilink is definitely so comfortable.

If you don't know that controller ( Negcon by Namco) you are missing a lot, mate! This is the ultimate one to really feel the track smoother and make great highscores. You can find one easily through ebay around 15 euros/ 20 25 bucks. The system is based on twisting for direction and use independantly the up & down button to adjust nose of your ship to fit perfectly to the track.
