  • The first Zone in this video was actually removed due to different issues. I actually replaced it a while ago.

    I would definitely like to pick this hack up again... :P

  • I noticed some ASM on the fireballs, also I noticed a graphic change that the wires for the platforms is gone, unless they were being covered by the background. I like the levels here, why'd you discontinue this project?

Now im TOTALY sure qb2 is going to be Awesome!!! great job Qu1ck. i just have one question: do you really think this is'nt good enough? cause its already great! tip: make a toad house with an fortress pointer. The player expects an item, but he gets an thwomp in da face (semi-final realm, cause its supposed to be hard.) you don't have to use this, but you can, and dont have to give me credit for this, cause i like to help friends!

  • To be honest, I'm not really sure. I didn't really want to use it again since I wanted to change the story (or rather, actually develop one) but I've actually been too busy with school and other stuff lately, so I haven't really had time to work on it and decide. I think each text edit will somehow tie in with a story. :) Thanks a lot for the comment. ^_^

  • I watched so many playthroughs of Mario hacks now that I can't keep them all straight, but I remember Quick Bros. was one of the first ones I ever watched. I remember thinking you were very talented with your cool level designs, but the one thing that makes it really stand out from all other Mario hacks is that is that often times in order to more forward you had to hit an invisible coin block and glitch your way though a wall. I'm guessing that there will be more of that in this one as well.

    Thanks for the comment. You and everyone else will probably be surprised to hear this, but my intention was to make Quick Bros. 2 easier than Quick Bros. You can see though that after my said attempts, Quick Bros. 2 is on the verge of becoming even harder than Quick Bros. Another weird occurrence!

    Is that a challenge, Mr. Shadow? xD

    That's exactly right! I was inspired to do that because of those levels in Banjo-Tooie! I love that game. I'm excited that someone was able to get the reference. Thanks for the comment and compliment, ChaoticTyme! ^_^

  • Quite excellent! I agree with Ankarua about your time management, but I'm not feared! That's for sure =P

    So, no ending cards, hmm? Also no Super Leaf? or that will be available in further worlds? Same thing about the suits?

  • I wish I had more time. :( Well, you always have the first Quick Bros. to play over and over again. LOL!

    I'm putting a few more 1-UPs to compensate for no end cards. As for the Super Leaf, it will be available in the later Realms, as well as the other suits, in special situations. I'm hoping to make the suits more unique in this way by making them appear less frequently.

    There's actually a Super Leaf in one of the Zones in the video - see if you can guess where it is. :P

  • From what I've seen in Blazerdragons' playing of your levels, and now this, I fear what you could do if you had time to do this. Of course, fearing it in a good way. XD

  • Holy crap! I had no idea one can make the platform rails invizible especially in a 2 color background. I'll have to check that out.

  • Ooh, girder maze with a twist, a building interior section. Also, the original game's gave you barely enough time to explore every corner of its girder stage, if you planned ahead.

    Nasty trick with those seemingly random warping doorways :-p

    Bowser Castle background in a Fortress?

    No end cards... Yeah... See, I'm planning to have it so there are never any end cards. Instead, that status bar corner will be used to display "Quick Bros. II" or something like that (like what JaSp did in Some Usual Day).

    Also, Quick Bros. had end cards. You're thinking of ElBlocko's SMB3 hack. :P

  • Ah, I must have confused the hacks since you were playing (and tweaking?) that one.

  • That's okay. :)

    The only thing I've been changing in ElBlocko's SMB3CL hack is the 1-1 pointer so that I can access all of the levels. Some of the pointers don't work for some reason, and it's the only way I can do some of the levels. Of course, ElBlocko gave me his permission to do so. I would attempt to fix the problem - if I had time - but if M3L files were used, things could become a mess very easily. It would be easier for ElBlocko to fix the pointers himself in such a case.
