  • @tempress90 i've actually tried it a few times. it depends on where you get it. First time i tried it it was very strong and disgusting but the next time it tasted like a margarita but that time they added strawberry vodka or something but yea.

  • @pianomasterChris Ahh lol!! Thank you! :D

  • Lol hes so cute ;3

  • It has been said, that Jerry kept the alter ego hidden, and when he first did this scene, because of the similarity to Dean, the actors shocked expressions, where artually real. No one knew how he would appear until the actual filming.

  • Great dual performance from Jerry Lewis.

  • This is supposed to be a comedy right?

  • @enigma1990 yes

  • Man, Jerry Lewis was a beast with buddy love.

This buddy love would've made Eddie Murphy's look like a chump.

  • At 0:25 , check out the cigarette girl , played by 60's model Terry Higgins. One of the all time great beauties.

  • .....no homo

  • Love this scene! "I'll...I'll pay...I'll pay attentiooooooon..." Love it!

  • he plays cool really good and kinda cute lol

  • Thanks for posting. This gave everyone a different look at Jerry Lewis of his darker side. I have not seen this clip in about 30 years. A great movie that inspired so many film makers and comedians.

  • Jerry Lewis is a god.

  • the bartender never actually puts in that "smidgen of vinegar." buddy love was 60's cool way before don draper.

  • This movie had the perfect script for Jerry.

  • "I'll pay attentionnnn..." XD

  • The film was an adaptation of the novel "The Strange case of Dr Jekill and Mr Hyde" by

Robert L. Stevenson. It was one of his best films, very funny.

  • I tried it...shits fucking cash..

  • Does it get any better than this?

  • so snobby. sexy? i think not. wipe your lipstick off, slide over here and lets get started? how nasty can you get.

  • Buddy's got pinky ring vulgarity going for him.

  • BullsEye!

  • my God he looks sooo weird here but I kind of like it, he's hot and is it only me or he really has make up on his eyes? :D can someone put the whole movie here please? :D

  • I love this movie its hilarious, and jerry Lewis was so hot when he was younger!

  • I want to see the hangover scene, too. That was a funny movie.

  • hahaha the end bit is funny!

  • "Hey! That was terrific!..."

it's been so long since i've seen this and it still humors me good.

Savouring the witty brilliance of Mr. Jerry Lewis ..relishing this MASTER CLASS ACT

    woW Wow wOw

    ,)) ..made my nighty NIIIGHT

  • Alaskan Polar Bear Heater

Two shots of vodka, a little rum, some bitters, a smidgen of vinegar, a shot of vermouth, a shot of gin, a shot of scotch, a little brandy, a lemon peel, orange peel, cherry, some more scotch.

"Mix it nice" and pour it into a tall glass.

  • @buggzugg After seeing that, I actually wanna try this drink now.

  • @buggzugg It was not a real drink then, but now it is

  • "Why don't you pick on somebody of your own disposition?"

"Oh, please Mr. Bar-room brawler. Don't hurt me or anything like that!"

(beats the living crap out of him and fixes his hair)

    Classic Jerry Lewis!!!

  • hey, thats marvin kaplan at the bottom of the stairs.

  • lol when did jerry lewis go from being a funny dancing wiz kid to a straight up G....I was scared to laugh I thought Jerry might have slapped me and made me pay attention

  • Mr. Peanut IN THE HOUSE!

  • Comment removed

  • i Made this cocktail and my testicles expanded!

  • What'll it be mmmm?

    Classic !!

  • ...man...i caught this showing on Film 4 this week...i hadn't seen it in years and years...i was absolutely cracking up at this scene...especially when he nearly chokes on the cig he is smoking! Funny how times change the way you appreciate a film like this!

  • One of my favourite films of all time xxx

  • .... aw, that wasn't very nice!

  • Jerry, 30 weight belongs in your car, not your hair.

  • Bartenders are always treated like shit in the movies.

  • Love the oil slick in his hair.

  • That still holds up...classic

  • They say that Mr.Lewis based the character of "Buddy Love"on his ex comedy performing partner Dean Martin.But..Mr.Lewis denys that he based the character on Dean..he based the character on every boorish, mean guy that one has met in life.

  • Is he imitating Frank Sinatra? "Duke that guy!!"

  • The original Dice Man.

  • I want to open a jazz joint called the Purple Pit!

  • @1:17 he sits down at the bar

  • you can COMPLETELY see Andrew Dice Clay sitting home thinking...hmmm...how should I make my character for comedy....then he sees this movie and says....THATS IT! I will just be Buddy Love ALL the time! He even lifted some of the same lines!!!!

  • @SonnyGTA I was thinking the same thing. I have not seen this scene in so long and that is where Dice got his character.

  • The scene starting at 0:17 to 0:33 is great!

  • I thought Eddie Murphy was in this.

  • Classic, Remake, but definitely the original..

  • @mooseasaurusrex thats the remake

  • @mooseasaurusrex

Eddie Murphy's remake doesn't even come close to the comedy of the original.

  • @RHINOSAUR Yes, that may be true, but Jerry Lewis was a producer of the remake, and Eddie worked closely w/ Jerry on the remake.

  • Where can I get a tuxedo like that? HA!

  • If there is a place beyond classic, this movie is there!

  • Mix the drink, shut your mouth and pay attention !!! :)

  • can anyone link me or uplodad the bit coming after this? where he talks to those 4 guys ?? please

  • Probably the best scene from a classic movie.

  • A regular George Boynard Shore

    :D

    Great film!

  • For those who think that Buddy is Dean, he's not. He's Jerry. The worst parts of Jerry. Whether Jerry realizes it or not, when he was writing Buddy he was drawing from his own flaws. Buddy is sarcastic, egotistical, attention seeking, mean spirited and glib, and Jerry could be that way sometimes too. On their last movie together, when they weren't talking to each other anymore, he redirected his anger at Dean by bullying other people on set. Despite all that, I still love Jerry. Great talent.

  • @Eclaire Eclaire IS Jerry Lewis!

  • @Eclaire Well said.

  • @tohotohandle1, it's already a real beverage now

  • one of the best scene in comedy ! love it !

  • supppperrr !!!

  • MARVIN KAPLAN(the guy with the glasses down in the front), one of the coolest bit and character actors ever. ;])

  • I wonder what psychologists and psychiatrists think of this motion picture, because, even without potions, serums and chemicals, some people actually do "switch" like that, and sometimes amazingly quickly. We've all got both of them in us, after all.

  • @buzzclick500 Very true. I worked in the bar and used to watch people making the transition after they drink. I used to call it "Instant Asshole, add alcohol".

  • EPIC SCENE!!!

  • Love this film! Just saw a band called "Nutty" I think in tribute to this film

ck 'em out. some cool cats! type cinnamon doll nutty jazz

    Dig it!

  • i love him, Jerry the one and only!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Teaspoon of olive oil, shot of Knob Creek, shot of Bookers, shot of Rumple Minz, shot of Tanqueray, shot of Corralejo Anejo, shot of Grand Marnier & a dash of black pepper. Pour it into a highball glass, neat. Then down it, and hit the dance floor. Don't worry about asking someone to dance--you'll have plenty of company following you. ;])

  • I Invented a drink I call "The Middle Finger"--never fails to get a reaction. I won't tell what's in it, except a tablespoon of jalapeno juice. Kinda gets the blood goin'. Your body will think you're trying to kill it, so your sex drive increases exponentially--survival reaction. ;])

  • I saw this in the theater(won the tickets on a radio contest)forty years ago. I wanted so much to be like Buddy Love, 'cause I was, like the professor, a total nerd--I mean, the ARCHETYPE nerd. Now, I walk into a bar or club, and most of the people turn, stop and stare, just like they do with him. ;])

  • Let's remember kids Jerry Lewis was very involved with the remake but yes nothing beats this

  • @DeleteThisMF Did you notice that your featured video has been, well, expunged? MFers.

  • @errolfan I'm not at all surprised. Youtube never ceases to amaze me. I BOUGHT the DVD, and posted that as a tribute, which I hoped would get more people to view and purchase Carlin's work (The HBO standup specials) and I get the copyright crap. Is it wrong to make videos from a DVD I own? Sheesh. Now if I edit the video just enough it's not a copyright issue. I don't get it. I even posted credit! Thanks for the heads up. I am going to change my FV to something annoying about copyrights LOL

  • @DeleteThisMF : Any concerns about copyright laws made after 1971 are irrelevant--just keep posting and making people happy. I love this scene. ;])

  • @buzzclick500 will do! And this weekend I will attempt to make an Alaskan Polar Bear Heater

  • @DeleteThisMF : Not near an open flame, though. Eyebrows are an asset to anyone's appearance. ;])

  • @DeleteThisMF : I just took a long, slow, relaxed, meditative look at your username, and cracked up laughing. Very good. ;])

  • buddy love, ick, all stuck on himself..

  • @paraclete56 : I can't stand people who aren't stuck on themselves. They're weak, silly, ineffectual and annoying.

  • Is it my idea, or half the American comedians have learned or stolen from this guy?

  • @nikoskabbadias : There's nothing new under the sun--but someone can do things a little DIFFERENTLY, and make a mint. ;])

  • @buzzclick500 sure thing,mate... :)

  • @nikoskabbadias I agree. You can see George Carlin, Jim Carrey, Dice Clay (uses Buddy Love as his comic character), and even Dick Van Dyke. My dad very much acted like Jerry Lewis to this day.

  • 0:28 - 0:29 Turns her head... So funny!

  • PAY attention.... ROFL

  • 2:08 heehee he's so tough but he still hits like a nerd

  • @xhellonhighheels69x : We nerds have to hit differently, because we have very little physical power. We have to depend on surprise--shock and awe. ;])

  • hahahahahaha!!!!!!!

  • Jerry represents the new Fed on the block after 9-11. He requires more and more bizarre public behavior, smashing quiet any redneck patriots. The bartender is the American conformists who believe, obey and injest the Kool-Aid. Uncle Sam gets what he wants in the end, micro-chips and Death Camps), due to rampant cowardice.

  • @PaulGiffs : Aaah, an illuminated child of the '60's. Whether I agree with the sentiment or not, you said a mouthful. ;])

  • Check out the cigarette girl at 0:25 , played by the beautiful Terry Higgins , in her only film appearance. Terry was a very popular model of the day. One of the great beauties of all time.

  • Now mix it up nice then pour it into a tall glass....

    Love it !!!!!

  • Man this guy's a douche lol

  • @SierraStarlight7770 : The professor? or the confident, worldly bon vivant?

  • Why is everyone giving him such an attitude at the club???

  • So cool, in such fruity attire. He looks like the NBC peacock. What a great performance and movie.

  • Buddy was a jerk but if you notice in this scene people start giving him attitude first.

  • I love this scene and its cartoonish resemblance.

  • Genious !!

  • Andrew Dice Clay has made a whole career impersonating Buddy Love!

  • that's a little rum?

  • im going to make this

  • My god 60s chicks here hot

  • Instead of the mini-fight, it would have been a lot cooler for Jerry to pull the guy's face into the bar, ala the Joker in "The Dark Knight", sans pencil of course.

  • Great send up of all the vain, macho bullshit some men go on with, all compressed into 4minutes. Jerry rules!

  • May I suggest that early 60's bartenders were more- how shall I say- "sanguine"?

I once -albeit sans compos mentis- ordered above beverage. I was greeted with a denunciation whose vehemence was only equalled by its lack of grammar.

    "Hope and Change"?- INDEED!

  • "Repeat after me ... I'll...."

    "I'll..."

    "I'll pay...."

    "I'll pay attentionnn..."

"I'll pay attentionnn..." LMAOOOOOOOOOO JERRY LEWIS IS KING ♥

  • Check out the cigarette girl at 0:27. Played by the beautiful Terry Higgins, in her only film appearance. Terry was a popular model in the early 60's.

  • It's quite feasible that this might in fact be what one would describe with confidence as the coolest thing I have ever watched.

  • haha what'll it be hmmmmmm ? back when Jerry Lewis was funny

  • wish i had a time machine...

  • Awesome scene, except when he throws punches like a girl

  • at least the idiots didn't remix and ruin this also.

  • Buddy Love is obnoxious.

  • Such a classic, epic movie

  • I love this movie! :D

Buddy Love is awesome and so cool!

  • Awsome, back when comedy was comedy

  • Grew up with brother and sister watch all things Lewis, or Martin and Lewis. One of my favorite scenes! Cool movie..only resemblance to Eddie Murphy's film is the title!

  • oh, please mr. ballroom brawler, dont hurt me or anything like that. *Punches him and kicks his butt.*

  • i would watch both the original and the remake

  • @WrestlingFan1013 Did you not find this video rather violent?

  • @dowling1981 nah it's all acted out so no one really gets hurt

  • @WrestlingFan1013 Yes but there are undertones of cruelty, ken?

  • Alaskan Polar Bear Heater

Two shots of vodka, a little rum, some bitters, a smidgen of vinegar, a shot of vermouth, a shot of gin, a shot of scotch, a little brandy, a lemon peel, orange peel, cherry, some more scotch.

"Mix it nice" and pour it into a tall glass

  • @buggzugg thank you. i'll keep that in mind... :D

  • Alaskan Polar Bear Heater

  • Alaskan Polar Bear Heater?

  • [39.4] If Allah desire to take a son to Himself, He will surely choose those He pleases from what He has created. Glory be to Him: He is Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all). WHAT SOME OF U MEAN HE HAST NO SON?.

  • @JapanTeacherOnly Cool. I can dig it. What mean son hast he no some of U. PSYCHEDELIC.

  • This movie is a great example of costume designer Edith Head's work.

  • Andrew "Dice" clay got his act from this-He even admits it

  • Eddie Murphy has made some fine films, but he should never have even attempted to re-make this classic. It's not that his version sucks, but it's just an entirely different film. They should have at least said it was loosely based on this movie and given it a different title completely. Anyway, that's my opinion.

  • The tobacco companies made sure their poison cigarettes played prominently in the "cool" image back in the day.

Trouble is the cemeteries are loaded with "cool guys" who died young from that foolishness. Now you see it and all you think is:

"Damn I bet that sucker STINKS!"

But Jerry Lewis will ALWAYS be the Nutty Professor.

  • Buddy is such an asshole. He's not even a cool asshole. He just makes an ass of himself.

  • @needles1987 You picked an appropriate username.

  • Best scene from the movie. Totally inspired, totally cool and totally out of date (even when it was made). The silence is deafening, Jerry punches like a girl and he still manages to be in control with his outrageous attitude and costume. He may have borrowed from Martin, Bogart or most likely an amalgam of various types. Stella never looked better. One of my favorites.
