@Xero422 the only difference is that the Wii controls are compatible with the RE Zero Archives which I thought would be cool. the thing is, there are no special actions with the Wii controls. basically the game was amazing for gamecube, but did not need a Wii port. but hey, the gamecube controller is compatible for the game too so if you get it for the Wii, then just use the controller that suits you best.
Couldn't agree more. RE4 still holds top spot on my "favorite games of all time" list, and for good reason. The people that hate on it are typically the old school RE fans that can't handle the fact that Capcom decided to take the series into a fresh new direction in terms of story and gameplay. I'm an old-school RE fan myself, but I'm not upset about the change in the slightest, as I felt the series was starting to become stale.
remake resident evil and resident evil zero is what ive been talking about forever. lol resi 4 and 5 were the slope downward into FPS.. but these are perfect! this is what silent hill needs also!
I just got this game and I died, HORRIBLY at the first zombie encounter. pretty good from what I got out of my three minutes of playing. it's a lot like the original which I like, and I also like the new aspects of it and the new story, that's always good. but what I don't like is that it's a little too... clean. if that makes any sense,
ppl complain to much first ppl want to discard items anywhere but when they get it they still complain . Zero was great but i would have liked them to revisit the character of Billy
it's more annoying than the storage boxes. At least storage boxes were scattered throughout the game, and you can reclaim your items whenever/wherever you find a box. IN the case of just discarding them onto the ground, it's more of a nuissance because you will have to completely backtrack to a different location just to reclaim that item.

this game was pretty good, but it just wasnt nearly as scary as the resident evil remake. also aside from rebecca, the characters and plot really didnt interest me nearly as much as the main storyline of the series.
Probably my least favorite game in the series. Wasn't impressed at all with the story, the characters, or the gameplay itself. I actually found it to be more frustrating than any of the other pre-RE4 games.
this was a bad review, the 2 player makes the game so much funner and rebecca isnt just some staybehindandwatch character, alot of time she is the one that does the work while billy stays behind, also you said its not much different about the leaving items and stuff, thats not true i find it WAY better with the leaving the items than i do putting them in a chest, and also you said that the train has more movement than the rest of the game... well DUH! its not like the factory is moving 200 mph!
thing they didn't need to add was the CGI clip,like if unlock a closet key,sometime it will not show rebecca wearing the same outfit like,in the CGI clips,shes in her s.t.a.r.s. uniform,which CGI clips did not need to be needed.realy wasn't that nessesary,just save it intill the end like they did with RE REMAKE

The biggest problem I have with old resident evil games is no immediate continues after you die and have to go back to your last save, but besides that they are pretty good not perfect tho,that's why I like RE 4 the most just because it did so many things right.

Even though the old RE formula is replaced, I still love it's controls. The tank like movement makes the game even more challenging and I like that kind of style in gameplay.
I still embrace the newer concept of the game even though it looks more of an action game rather that survival horror.
the idea of resident evil is "ZOMBIES" not hillybilly people infected with pussyass "LOS PLEAGUS" etc,so...the zombies is like the hloy grail for resident evil ,so sitting the zombies out on the bench or calling them out and joinging some other types of "INFECTED" doesn't make them better actually no....people miss the zombies at re series ,for example .look at the movies box offfice and u will see z movies does have the most popularity and make alot of money than other movies

People always complain about the RE controls but even a complete noob gets used to it if he plays the game for more than five minutes. actually the RE controls are much more fitting to the constantly changing camera than any other control scheme because pressing forward on the directional buttons always means walking forward. EXACTLY. My friend (who is not to good at old RE games), played RE2 for the 1st time and actually adapted to the control scheme within the 1st hour he played it. He got pretty far. ANYONE can do good on RE games, they just have to be gamers, not newbie ADD addled impatient lil fools who think that COD is the definition of video game.
Absolutely! The first time i played the original RE on PS1 I too was a bit confused by the controls, it was also a bit hard to actually shoot faster enemies if they happened to attack you from behind without getting hit. But they fixed that problem by giving you auto aim and quick turn. I love making speed runs of games like RE and Silent Hill and the fact is that in Silent hill you can actually change the control scheme to a DMC-like control and it makes speedrunning a lot harder.

In my opinion its not bad but its not great either. If they wanted to put in two characters they should have solved it as in RE3 where you take role of a other character for a while. Playing both basically at the same time makes you feel that the game drags. Otherwise its the same classic RE unlike 4&5. One thing that bothered me is that weapons feel kinda weak and only 6 inventory slots with some items taking up two at a time isn't enough for smooth gameplay. For the fans of 1/2/3 its okey.
I'm a hardcore RE fan, but never played this game because it was a GC exclusive. Once I got a Wii I decided to purchase Zero from ebay (was pretty cheap). Needless to say I don't DISLIKE the game, but I'm not overly impressed either. The gameplay is WAY too generic, the plot isn't as appealing as it is in other RE games, and I don't like the new ability to drop and pick up items anywhere (replaces the storage cases from previous games). Not a bad RE title, but I prefered Code Veronica
Yeah resident evil was a puzzle-survival based game, 4 and 5 arn't that scary, no puzzles, and you don't really run out of things very much (not complaining too much :P). And the pre-rendered graphics look so real, polygonal graphics just don't get to that level of creepiness/realism. All the angles where placed in a way that makes them look like true horror art. Like the entrance to Lisa's cabin with the pumpkins in remake was so surreal.
This is one boring review. Plus, there were some things that were wrong with what he said. RE0 was the game that got me into the series, and I've loved it since. The controls were a bit confusing at first since it was the first RE game I had ever played, but I got them before leaving the train. I've played RE0, CV, 4, 5, UC and I'm about to play RE 1 Archives. So far, RE0 is still my favorite game since it has my favorite character combination and I don't care what hardcore fans think of me.

it's more annoying than the storage boxes. At least storage boxes were scattered throughout the game, and you can reclaim your items whenever/wherever you find a box. IN the case of just discarding them onto the ground, it's more of a nuissance because you will have to completely backtrack to a different location just to reclaim that item.

Probably my least favorite game in the series. Wasn't impressed at all with the story, the characters, or the gameplay itself. I actually found it to be more frustrating than any of the other pre-RE4 games.

The only thing I didnt like about this game was the fact that there was no item chests because winey little bitches complained to Capcom enough to have them taken out. Now that they've been taken out, these same idiots are still bitching about it lol. Other then that, this is a very fun game which sets up the REmake PERFECTLY! :)

Even though the old RE formula is replaced, I still love it's controls. The tank like movement makes the game even more challenging and I like that kind of style in gameplay.
I still embrace the newer concept of the game even though it looks more of an action game rather that survival horror.

People always complain about the RE controls but even a complete noob gets used to it if he plays the game for more than five minutes. actually the RE controls are much more fitting to the constantly changing camera than any other control scheme because pressing forward on the directional buttons always means walking forward. I think most people are just to lazy to learn the controls and say they suck.

Absolutely! The first time i played the original RE on PS1 I too was a bit confused by the controls, it was also a bit hard to actually shoot faster enemies if they happened to attack you from behind without getting hit. But they fixed that problem by giving you auto aim and quick turn. I love making speed runs of games like RE and Silent Hill and the fact is that in Silent hill you can actually change the control scheme to a DMC-like control and it makes speedrunning a lot harder.

In my opinion its not bad but its not great either. If they wanted to put in two characters they should have solved it as in RE3 where you take role of a other character for a while. Playing both basically at the same time makes you feel that the game drags. Otherwise its the same classic RE unlike 4&5. One thing that bothered me is that weapons feel kinda weak and only 6 inventory slots with some items taking up two at a time isn't enough for smooth gameplay. For the fans of 1/2/3 its okey.

I'm a hardcore RE fan, but never played this game because it was a GC exclusive. Once I got a Wii I decided to purchase Zero from ebay (was pretty cheap). Needless to say I don't DISLIKE the game, but I'm not overly impressed either. The gameplay is WAY too generic, the plot isn't as appealing as it is in other RE games, and I don't like the new ability to drop and pick up items anywhere (replaces the storage cases from previous games). Not a bad RE title, but I prefered Code Veronica

Yeah resident evil was a puzzle-survival based game, 4 and 5 arn't that scary, no puzzles, and you don't really run out of things very much (not complaining too much :P). And the pre-rendered graphics look so real, polygonal graphics just don't get to that level of creepiness/realism. All the angles where placed in a way that makes them look like true horror art. Like the entrance to Lisa's cabin with the pumpkins in remake was so surreal.
Just ordered Zero btw.

This is one boring review. Plus, there were some things that were wrong with what he said. RE0 was the game that got me into the series, and I've loved it since. The controls were a bit confusing at first since it was the first RE game I had ever played, but I got them before leaving the train. I've played RE0, CV, 4, 5, UC and I'm about to play RE 1 Archives. So far, RE0 is still my favorite game since it has my favorite character combination and I don't care what hardcore fans think of me.
