personally i prefer the 5th gen over the 6th due to the front looking nicer with the pop up head lights and cool grille design and i see little difference in the rear end of a 5th and 6th gen. the 6th gen had ugly headlight design looked more like a regular sedan unless really tricked out. 5th and 7th gen are ftw.
but still, seing the same type of car over and over again gets boring, it should have been for all celicas, plus the alltrack celicas are alot better then the last gen celicas......
i drove a corolla all track when i worked @ an auto consignment yard and it wasn't too shabby so i can only imagine what driving a celica all track is like. keep in mind finding a celica all track here in the states is pretty rare. hell seeing a levin or trueno corolla is rare in itself these days. as far as my interest in the last gen celicas i was intrigued by the body design. you have to admit the design was pretty sleek looking in its day. just my opinion though...if you disagree it's cool.
yea, i got an 86 celica gts, just saving up to do a alltrack motor swap, or a last gen 3sge n/a swap.... too bad i cant make it awd. but i do like the look of the last gen celicas as well, but im more into the older celicas 4th and 6gen to me exact, but somewhat disapointed in the 2zzfe in the last gen celica, they shold have went with the last gen 3sge motor which also came from the altezza in japan. but eh...i like all the celicas except the 5gen celicas(hated the rear end look)
yeah i agree the 5 gen had an ugly rear end and was regarded by many Celica enthusiasts as the "ugly gen". i often speculated if they went with the Corolla platform to pay tribute to the Levin and Trueno generation? but i think the whole reason many scion owners have learned this and realize that scion was paved in the blood of the last gen MR2 Spyder, Echo (believe it or not) and of course the last gen Celica.
yea, but i just didnt like the rear end. the whole car was nice except the rear. also i didnt like the mr2 spyder, in order to make it look nice, u would need some body work.. but i think the scion tc is nice looking, but not a very fast car from factory. my moms 5sp accord beat my uncles tc with a injen cold air on it. ....i just need to finish my celica project...

hmm i own a 2000 vvti with some basic mods like no valve in intake, painted engine plastics, cherry-red tails, s2000 antanna, and an SS.
celicas are not the fastest cars around, but they sure will beat any car on auto-x and looks! they are underrated!
