I disregarded them at first.. but then I heard an ad on MTV for Razorblade Romance and immediately became hooked. (This was years ago.. like back at the very end of '03, beginning of '04.) I've remained just as obsessed ever since :-p

@mandarinspyce Same here, been a fan for about 7 or 8 years... they were just starting to promote Love Metal, which was released that upcoming spring. To this day no musician I've heard has captured the same ethereal feeling and visceral emotion that these guys do. It's truly an experience to hear this band.

has anyone else noticed hidden elements in HIM's songs that are more audible when played in an environment with white noise? i have noticed extreme differences in songs while i am in the shower or driving. i can hear people talking, the instruments sound different at points, and there are many subtle effects that arent noticeable during normal playback. i first noticed in my car when i heard someone talking and i kept looking around trying to figure out where it came from. it was HIM lol

a. returning to the path that will take him to Hell once again, the one that he has been on many times. it is a long journey, but he will finally return home. or

b. returning to a significant other that he has given multiple chances, but it is worth it because he loves them. he goes through several trials just to be with them again.

In my second interpretation, the path that he is on is the path to that person's heart, and the rivers, dark gardens, shadows, and darkness are all symbols of hardships that Ville encounters on his way back home to their heart. idk, im still working on it.

@TheGoodbarification i now have several interpretations of this song. it is really abstract and hard to tell what the exact meaning is, but i keep getting the fact that he is on a path to his true love. in one instance he is a cheater, in another he has relationships problems that he caused, and the last one is that he is in a relationship that continues to fail and he has to prove himself to that person. the first makes the most sense with the lyrics, but i like the second the most.
