I think (THINK) the guy has the same issue as her boyfriend, but the bar guy owned up to it whereas her boyfriend didn't ("I don't know if I'm in love her or with myself"), and she was really touched (and frustrated i guess) and she finds her "solace" in him (the bar guy) thinking that her boyfriend would one day realize his mistakes too, like the bar guy did.
