I think the Lakers will win this year, and yet whats annoying is that we get these so called "Bandwagon" laker fans who only cheer for them when they're winning but doubt them when things happen. The lakers are a year away they need d will or dwight howard to come to la in the offseason but if they're able to get them within this year then most likely they can make a run for it. I still think bynums knees are made of glass and pau should've tryed to pack on muscle in the offseason. They still need help in the frontcourt but mainly a PG.

If bynum is careful and healthy and gasol takes his position that won championships seriously, then Lakers will win. Also, if gasol can shoot threes, it will give kobe some relief and gasol will be nearly unblockable for his height and his shooting form.

I hate the fact that we talk about giving up bynum as if he didn't help LA at all. But the fact is if bynum gets hurt in his knee, it's over. Even if its minor, bynum will lose any momentum and he'll just be another "fat" that's added to the roster. Gasol may be able to take point guard, but he has a size advantage and, no disrespect, you cannot throw away that kind of benefit just to be a guard when he can't move fast or handle the ball well enough.

like shaq said, lakers have a genuine proven big 3 in kobe, bynum and gasol. as long as that remains there will always be a chance of them going far this season and maybe even causing an upset. however, i do agree in terms of depth of the bench there is a few pieces missing for this side to be considered real title challengers this year. a few smart acquisitions is all that is needed and this thing could be back on. until then just enjoy what we have. still proud of this team and ball club.

Use the trade X to bring in help at the PG position right now. Whether or not we bring in Dwight we still have glaring issues that will keep us from winning a title. Use the trade exception to bring in athleticism and or a legitimate point guard. We need that above everything else. Don't worry about Dwight right now, just do your best to improve the current team we have and when the time comes for Orlando (post All-Star break thru March 15) we can just hope for the best.

The only way Lakers will trade Gasol and Bynum for Howard is if Mitch Kupchack gets really frustrated about team. But, Mitch or Jerry aren't that kind of people. I'm not for Bynum/Gasol for Howard even it's for the future. Kobe Bryant is 33 years old. He can't carry this team anymore every game. Also, Howard isn't necessarily Shaq on offense either. So, the best scenario is try to get Howard without giving up Gasol and use the TPE to try acquire another ala JR Smith, Aaron Brooks, or Mo Williams
