  • will tausept ochre do too ? :P or do i have to buy desert yellow ?

  • J'ador la musique .Il peint trop bien .

  • i would enjoy a video about the basics how make a wash how to dry brush ect. i have been painting for a little over 2 years i dont know to much about how to correctly paint i just come up with my techniques it appears to me your techniques are better so please make a vid for me

  • worst song choice, you might be queer

  • Holy spell check Batman!

  • Really good guide, but i think u went a bit over board wif the dry brushing dude, thumbs up though =)

  • Hm, sadly i cant aford cid. paints so i use normal paints i get at stores, pretty much for my cadians im usen Tan, pine green and silver seems to work out fine :D

  • Gr8 video tutorial, everything spot on especially the Shrek music! If i could be critical, ibelieve u spelt assemble wrong and desert on 1 occasion

  • Eww Smashmouth.. he painting isn't bad though.

  • That's not a very good paint job, I don't think you should be making tutorials.

  • I liked bowling for soup even before shrek. I like shrek, too.

  • I love that song :)

  • or you can just use command kaki and wash XD

  • can i substitute the green with catachan green!

  • thank you

  • nice cloth painting. :p

  • lol i followed the paint scheme on the back of the box, kommando khaki and it looks way to light :( anyway to fix this without having to spend £10 on paints? All the other colours look fine...

  • Comment removed

  • @prisonerofwar13 Just make the base coat chaos black then add those colours, just like you'd do with metal mods. It does work for me so give it a try on a few of your models,

  • whats the first song

  • Check out my channel for an alternative on how to paint the cloth :)

  • why dont you paint each part individually and then assemble your model?

  • @StG44KiNg cus its harder

  • @StG44KiNg I don't know about him, but when i tried that, my glue dried white and ruined alot of the paint

  • @StG44KiNg

It makes it much harder to glue it together with paint on it. Plus, glue depending on which you use can acutally make the paint run.

  • @StG44KiNg Cos sometimes the axis glue would melt it off anyway.

  • @StG44KiNg

I used to paint each part individually back in the old days... However assembling it first turns out to be a lot easier and the finished result is always far far better ;)

  • @StG44KiNg I once did so for one of my Ogres, when I wanted to add something. If you then glue it to the model, it eats away on your paint.

  • @StG44KiNg It's a preference. Some people like to assemble them all so they can still use them for battles (if they don't have a lot of time to play) But also because a fully assembled unit will already have it's shades layed out. And you won't waste time paiting places that are not visible on the assembled model.

Some people prefer each part indivually so it's a lot easier to get in the details (which it definitely is)

  • @StG44KiNg Dont do that because your then your glueing on paint.

  • @StG44KiNg

I tried that with a sticker... DON'T DO IT AT ALL!!! It burns the paint away D:

  • @StG44KiNg I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!

  • what do you use for videos?

  • I fucked mine up trying to make them look like our usmc desert cammo lol!

  • how long does it take you to paint one model from scratch?

  • imperial guard is the coolest army ever. also i use kommand kaki is it better then desart yellow?

  • So, which is better for a primer, black or grey?

  • lol nuts and cranies (:

  • why do you undercoat it does it do something

  • wow you are a good painter and thanks my army is comeing along

  • I collect eldar but are thinking on colleting Imperial guard besides them.

  • Wouldn't it be easier to drybrush the light green highlight instead of painting it around all the edges of the armour?

  • @awesomeJoz no it looks bad

  • thnx now my cadian army looks great thnx so much

  • Thank you cause my cadians look awesome now cause i followed the step by step only suggestion would be to glue the body/legs to stand and paint the body and gun/arms separately anyways thank you again

  • It's easier to paint them with detail if you only assemble the legs and torso then put masking tape on the place where the head and arms are attached, then you spray paint it then paint it with brushes and all of that stuff.

  • hey guys check out my vids about how to paint your guys. I think its a little bit easier than this method, although it may be a bit harder to figure out how your guy is going to look in the end. If you want to try it a little different just check out my vids for 40k. Thanks!

  • Hey insted of useing orkhide shade or dark angels green i actully use knarloc green insted then highlight the model once finshed with knarloc again. Also can u make a video on painting imperieal guard tanks? thank you.

  • all we need is a weapon from this time and it would look like one of our soldiers :)

  • eey Shrek!....;)

  • nuts and crannies

  • @MikeyWesty666 use chainmail if you must add chips, mitherial looks stupid as hell and too corny

  • hi, i'm kind of new to all this, but are washes and inks the same thing? thanks :))

  • @Shad0wHunter92 no, washes and inks are not the same, 1 washes are newer 2 i find them easier to use, just apply it over the whole model and boom, lol 3 inks are harder to find now ----- overall i think that washes are better, hope that helped

  • @Shad0wHunter92 also inks gets glossy, washes gets matte when dry

  • awsome

  • this is great painting its just that i can neve rseem to motivate myself to work at this kind of skill for each guardsmen in my army

  • can you show how to paint krieg please .

    Great video by the way

  • I think it can't be done better :-)

    Nice work dude

  • whats the first song

  • whats the first song

  • whats the first song and good vid wanted to mo how they paint warhammer that well

  • Not bad, in fact i like it

  • Hey man, do you glue all the parts together before you paint? How do you paint inside the vox and weapon area?

  • looks really nice. the highlights really pull it all together, though personally i would make the metal parts on the backpack a little more weathered, especially the antennae, but that's just personal opinion. looks great!

  • good video, need to work on the painting and washing of the models combat bottoms, theres far easier ways to get good looking detail without all them steps.overall good video dude!

  • Anyone know a good video for painting Death Korps?

  • no affence dude but you copy MINIWARGAMING in loads of ways, good vid :D

  • thanks helped alot:)

  • its *nooks* and crannies not nuts, but i do find it funny and fitting since your painting that area! thanks for the vid, I WANT MOAR!

  • looks great but there are easyer and cheaper ways eh ?

  • doesn't really go with the theme but LOVE THE SONG couldnt stop watching the video and good tips but, giving you a thumbs up!!

  • You have horrible taste in music, sorry.

  • i'd suggest using devlan mud instead of brown ink; one GW stopped making inks, two it doesnt make the cloth look shiny

  • Brilliant video mate i use it for all my imperial guardsmen quite a lot but im getting there thanks!!

  • awesome tutorial vid 1 of the bst ive seen on you tube....!! nice wrk man.

  • how do you dry brush> i dont know how to do that. because if you dip the brush in paint it is wet. almost no metter how little you put on. and are immp guard powerfull. lets say 20 imp against 10 marines? who would win?

  • @REAPER3382 To dry brush just get paint on the brush, dry it off on tissue paper or whatever you have at hand and then lightly apply around the selected areas. Dry brushing gives amazing highlighting effects and detail and should be used when painting any warhammer model.

When looking at how strong an army is, you obviously look at their strengths. The guardsmen arent one. The imperial armour is what wins them wars.

  • @REAPER3382 well, marines are 170 points for a 10 man squad with a sergeant, and guardsmen are 50 points for 10, so point wise it would take 40 guardsmen (can only have squads of 10, or 20) to kill 1 space marine squad with a sergeant.

  • @miniwars123 how many kasrkins would that take?

  • @REAPER3382 get a codex ;)

  • what´s dry brushing?

  • I like to paint my parts individualy then assemble, makes it a bit easier and with better detail.

  • Nice video really like the soundtrack in it but hey I have only received my 1st

cadian shoctroopers box of 10 men and is still frustrating to finish them of

but still you got any other details in how to paint the face & flesh using acrylic colors

because in the moment I do not have Games workshop paints.

thank you for the tutorial. ^^

  • guards men look the best but the space mariens are better to play as

  • I love the cadian colour scheme.

It's kinda non origonal scheme but it really looks cool

  • 5:58 Now thats HD!

  • wats the 1st song?

  • All Star by Smash Mouth.

  • hey wats the 1st song? it dosnt say

  • let me simplify on how to paint the cloth: paint it scorched brown and then a relatively thick layer of desert yellow..then a VERY light wash of brown or even chestnut ink :/

  • lol started imperirals without a paint set lol cadian command squad and cadian infantry

  • thanks. now i know what paints use when i start collect imperial guards :)

  • what do you think about having the clothing the same but black armour and equipment as a colour scheme??

  • whats the second song?

  • @spymeo its is bowling for soup-punk rock 101

  • Is the under coat of grey the Primer basically and is it important?

  • yeah it gives a easier layer to paint on then just plastic dunno why just does lool

  • awsomez kk finkin of starting a imperial guard army

  • its strange everyone paints the fabrics differently. i undercoat chaos black, base coat scorched brown and then bestial brown. then multiple layers of just a bit more thicker than drybrushing of desert yellow. then alot of kommando khaki drybrushing. then highlights with khaki mixed with skull white.

  • Love the first song oh and by the way great painting!(iam SUBSCRIBING U)

  • is dry brushing when you put a little bit of paint on to a dry brush so it dosent run on the model or some thing like that and what dose water down mean

  • drybrushing is when you put paint on the brush, and with tissue or newspaper wipe the brush over it until pretty much there is no paint which seems to come off. you then lightly brush the model and raised areas will become painted lightly. watering down is just sticking a small amount of paint on a pallet and mixing in a bit of water. just stick the brush in a jug of water and add a blob of it mixed to the paint. this way you can paint the recesses nicely. better than wasting money on washes

  • dude, washes are not a waste of money

  • @Swedeguy100

well, i make do with watered down paint/ mixed paint as it saves money.

e.g if i want to make ice blue i just add white to regal blue and its fine

  • I always paint the the limbs and equipment before i glue them on.

  • drybrush-men, really dry brush on the clothes, men you suck

  • yeh man awsome

  • Good painting, terrible music.

  • Looks great. I've been playing 40k for a while, but I have never bothered painting any of my armies. I have just started IG, and I figured I might as well do it right. Gonna take a hell of a lot of practice though.

    ^_^

  • @Wurchin Same here. This video is ALMOST a 40k life saver.

  • buy a guardsmen mini set it contains 5 guardsmen great for trying out new painting schemes and requires minimal

    assembly

  • is there a guide in the box if you buy it

  • Should I use skull white or the other white?

  • Is it better to use dark angels green?

  • did you drybrush free times by turns with desert yellow this clothes ?

    it's look super 5/5

  • its nooks and crannies not nuts

    :D

  • when you say thin even coat do you mean to add water or to just put a very small paint on the model? and if you use water how much?

  • i cant paint that good im a noob my stuff looks like crap :(

  • i know same here. can somebody tell me and help with how to base coat highligght dry brush and water brush plz:)

  • Base coat, paint/water 1:1

To highlight, use one shade lighter.

To Dry brush, wipe a brush with paint on a lintless cloth until there is very little paint left, they go over the model lightly with the brush.

Water brush is used to blend or fix blending errors.

Learn how to out line the model in black with washes as well.

  • Add some water to your paint. 1 drop of paint to 1 drop of water. It makes it go on smoother. When you get better learn about liqidex chemical additives that wil make the paint even more productive.

  • @kien190 Lol yeh, i am trying to learn a bit, so i dont waste a huge amount of money on five bits of plastic.

  • Practice... it takes a lot of practice, try to learn the techniques involved in painting then practice them and you will perfect them... My imperial Guard doesn't reflect my painting skill (they were an army I painted before I was good at it) but my skills at painting have definitely improved from immense amounts of practice.

  • yea nice job

  • good i guess, it looks very time consuming though. looks good though. btw, how long did it take to say...paint a set/squad?

  • i dig it except for the cloth parts. a better way to do it is skip the ink and drybrush like crazy! it lookes way better in the end. (just some tips.)

  • yeh i had to dry brush a bit crazy and a little bit thick over the ink
