  • hey fl92002 how long has the chinatown dragonfighters been there and when was they founded back then

  • @spurs105 it is a TILLER LADDER NOT A TOWER TOWER LADDER'S HAVE BUCKETS ON THE END

  • @soothsayer0 SHUT UP besides it is Tiller 6 T6 NOT tiller 9 T9 9 is the engine not tiller the tillermans doors have 6 on them!!!!!!!!

  • @MPS137 Some Tillers somebody correct me if i am wrong but some Tillers in the FDNY maybe T6 does have Medical supplies

  • My dad is the third one to to the other side of engine nine

  • welcome to china town we have happy truck

  • DUde, when i get my first call im going to be hauling ass while these guys walk xD

  • Lol i love how the camera man jumped at the sirens

  • Why does the FDNY wear full turnouts on medical runs?

  • @LAFD27explorer what if they get called somewhere else in route? and there shits at the station and it says this is in august if it's late august and it's night time it could be pretty cold

  • @LAFD27explorer was on 6th story of building could need harnest

  • Love engine 9s air horn

  • Only 1 questions why dont they go full Q like all the departments in NY just do a few Q's then nothin.

  • I don't see why the US Fire departments send all them trucks to a man with a broken leg? Does it take 14 firefighters to tend to him?

In Scotland that would be a simple one ambulance and two paramedics and they'd get the job done fine.

Can someone please tell me? It looks like a big waste of money and resources and I'm struggling to think up reasons as to why all them trucks are being dispatched for something so minor.

  • @DJjoshDempsey well you gotta think, a department like FDNY has a high call volume and ambulances are not always immediately available therefore they have to rely on first responders ie the truck and engine companies and most big departments have a truck and engine company respond together on all calls called Task Forces or Light Forces you never know when you might catch a structure fire

  • @DJjoshDempsey In New York as in most (not all) cities the Engine handles EMS runs and assists the EMS crews with patients. They make most every 911 call due to the fact that sometimes there are not enough ambulances to go around. The Truck or Ladder companies respond to fires and any type of emergency requiring rescue type work. If the guy with a broken leg was too fat to get downstairs that would be a job for the Truck. That's the gist of how it works. If you need to know more just ask.

  • @Himdarling44 plus the ladder carries almost all the equipment for the 2 companies, the engine's equip is focused on fire fightin, whereas the ladder has a lot more space for equip

  • @joek0617 Like I said Engine is EMS/Firefighting, that's it. Car accidents, Fires, Rope Rescue, basically any type of physical rescue, you call the Truck. And yes you are half right that the Truck has more space but you still have to be careful what you put in that space. Still it's amazing as to how much stuff FDNY can fit on their truck companies. Stuff you've never even heard of has a place on their truck, probably doesn't get used but once a year but its there none the less.

  • @Himdarling44 Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

  • Was that the Kramer truck?

  • nice vid

  • i miss tillers

  • so like if he was injured why didn the ambus just go with one assist by engine 9

  • I like the horn on the first truck

  • Driving a tiller in NY? YIKES!!!!!!

Bet that can be a Pain in the...

  • Chinatown is in Manhattan right?

  • sooth sayer0 shut the hell up you ass.

  • Why send a tiller to a Med call?

  • easy answer...man power...better to have more than you need then need more than you have

  • @MPS137, it's b/c of the limited dispatch information and the fact that it's located on the 4th floor (which could mean a variety of scenarios and possible injuries upon arrival of the 1st crew).

also, fdny (like other dept.s) send rigs to EMS calls b/c they can generally get a BLS crew to the scene faster (and stabilize/assess the pt.) than a transporting ambulance

  • Love the way they have there own identity,,,the dragon fighters, sounds so cool

  • jeez, all you morons don't understand SARCASM. fucking internet. everybody's literacy rate is at an all-time low.

  • I thought that was quite witty myself......

  • at 1:20, L9 stops for a moment so a firefighter (who was probably stuck in the toilet) could catch up with the truck

  • I believe he was closing the bay door

  • Or so that he could close the door, because they can't trust them in NYC

  • OR he could've been stopping pedestrians like FDNY always does..

  • Geez those tower ladders are so hard to turn

  • yea, it's insane those guys get around in NYC like they do..

  • It's not a tower ladder, weenie.

  • Errrr tiller there guy.

  • i have never seen asian firefeighter in usa.

  • wow

  • i would only expect one unit to respond to this call, then i read that they are the second due units. why so many people for a medical?

  • It was a call for smoke on the fourth floor of a tenement in Little Italy, not an EMS run.

  • must've been a 500 lb guy!!

  • Totally Agree

  • Beleive it or not, semi-tillers get around better than a regluar truck dose

  • @kgcwhazup isan that because of the second drier???

  • tillers are starting range of 550,000$ at start..want raise of taxes?

  • Why would you replace the tillers in an area where it is very difficult for the towers and rearmounts to respond?

  • @rpbravest29fd Because the back wheels can be steered against the direction of travel allowing the trailer to swing out fron the inside of the curve. They navigate tight turns MUCH better than a rearmount

  • the group of fire fighters was in one of the towers when they fell they was with a very old lady that was very slow to get down the stairs and when it colaptsed the floor above and below them was flattened god was with them and the battalion chief that was with them wrote a book about the towers read it it is so worth the cost of the book

  • what is the air horn called on the engine? who makes it? its such a sick new sound that ive never heard

  • did engine 9 have a Q siren on the driver side of the front bumper?

  • I think it was their front water intake.

  • what sirens are on those trucks? and what siren are they using?

  • federal sig pa300 on manual

  • Good video. The Ladder is a 100ft aerial ladder. An Aerialscope is a tower ladder

  • Errrr Seagrave 100' tillered aerial.

  • i think alot of these guys died on 9/11, my respect to all o them

  • Ladder 6 didn't lose any 9/11 not sufre bout 9 engine though. Never Forget 9/11/01

  • I read that both Engine 9 and Ladder 6 did not lose any of their personnel on 9/11.

  • Sweet looking trucks!!
