Dalai Lama: We love freedom. Even animals love their freedom. And now naturally that is coming back. So on that level, the situation in Tibet is hopeful. Today, quite a number of [Chinese] people are showing an interest in the preservation of Tibetan culture and spirituality.
He was 15 years old when forced by the commie invasion to assume his duties. And you want to blame him for Tibet's social ills (rural peasants were more like sharecroppers, not slaves).
HHDL loved the democratic ideal even then, and they would have modernized their country if they'd been left alone. Now after half a century of CCP rule, what have they got? Obliteration by Han colonization. PRC - the last colonialist empire.
If the dalai lama loves democratic ideals so much why has there never been a election to determine the lamaship??? He and his exiles are so keen on modernizing that dharamsala is world famous for its tibetan slums! You're a pathetic joke and a brainwashed sheep. Tibetan need the love of Jesus Christ!
people will never hate people, only the government, we hate the us government, like the rest of the world! They are behind all riots, wars, seperation of an countries, like what the British idi in India, China, Africa and the us did in the east European countries and the South Ameiran! now rhe US suddenly found a good way to annoy China, if China made any mistake, then the west could uesd their silly democracy having a war towards to China, what the US want is to get more from China, more careful!
Regardless of whatever way you interpret the US, you are entitled to it, but the people of Tibet have had about enough of the inhumane treatment to them, how long has it been since Tibet was invaded by the China???...over 50 years...true there are developments in Tibet but Tibetans there are still treated as 3rd class citizens...all the developments in Tibet are favored towards Chinese who continue to enter Tibet by mass numbers making the Tibetans the extreme minority in their own land!!!
He demands FULL Tibetan INDEPENDENCE you Chinese propaganda agent. Tibet was fine the way it was, until your evil government invaded and murdered millions of defenseless people.
BLOCKADE CHINA! BOYCOTT BEIJING! FREEDOM FOR TIBET!
Listen to Dalai, you disrespectful child. Dalai does not want the independence of Tibet, but meaningful autonomy. That's in the best interest of Tibetan people.
@banzaidawan Tibet is not a part of China. In FACT, the Yuan Dynasty was not a Chinese Dynasty, it was a Mongolian Dynasty when the Mongols invaded both China first and then Tibet. The Chinese government can mislead its people in any way they want but history can't be changed. Even the word Dalai is Mongolian for ocean when the Mongols bestowed the name Dalai Lama to past Dalai Lamas since the Mongols were influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. This still persists today in Mongolian culture today.
Do you know what reality is? My integration is connected to it, in relation to real things, like art and athletics. What reality is your 2ss holiness connected to? The blind follow the blind!!!
No, she isn't, but she has known His Holiness for many years. So she's very familiar with Tibetan custom, and the hands together greeting (what we call "wai" in Thailand) comes naturally to her.
What a joy to listen to such wisdom from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I only wish more of our great world leaders had studied wisdom their whole lives. I hope this brings joy to the people of Tibet
I feel sorry for you. It clearly shows that you are a supporter of violence and violence. I have great sympathy for you and hope that in this lifetime, you go through a quarter of what the Tibetans have suffered in the hands of Chinese government. I pray for your tortured soul.
all i need to voice out is, just for this comment of urs, and for every being whos reading it, your karmas going to return back to you, multiplied by all of our thoughts, whos still fighting for freedom of truth- and hit you right on ur face, at some point of ur life, in SUCH magnitude, that you'll be amazed at what a loving and kind man our Holiness is. I'm holding my prayers for you too.
I live in Bangkok and have a dish (only for unencrypted signals). There is an AP feed available, which transmitted the event. I captured it with new AVer Media's "AVerTV Hybrid+FM Volar" (looks like a thumb drive, and goes into your comp. thru 2 usb wires). That's how I'm getting the video from Democratic Voice of Burma also.
It was the first time for me to capture lengthy segments, Dalai Lama's 24+ minutes was almost 1Gb. It finished at about 1:30 am Oct. 18th here (starting at midnight).
long live his holiness! you have always given your best and done the most possible for tibet and for that every tibetan stands fully behind you!

We can all learn from the Dalhi Lama, In the face of adversity and being exiled from his homeland, how did he respond?
Loving kindness.

China must seriously negotiate with the Tibetan leader, HHDL. This is the only way to clean up their dirty karma in this matter.
The world is watching to see if China will show maturity and character or if they are still a brutal, backwards communist regime.
0birdwatcher0 3 years ago 6
Brutally, communist chinese has shot over 150 Tibetans on the streets of lhasa and thats called brutally oppressed.
China has imprisoned hundreds of its journalist who commited a crime called "freedom of expression"
In August 1983, Chen Renjie was sentenced to death, and Lin was sentenced to death with reprieve.

U r completely right, I think communist chinese should rethink about their childish blames towards H.H The Dalai Lama.
He has been saying again and again he wants only meaningful autonomy, but still these communist have been blaming him as splittist.
I think even if Chinese leaders feel they are morally too week to talk to H.H. The Dala Lama, I think they only escape is talk to His Holiness.

Relax everyone. His Holiness the Dalai Lama said:
* He promotes Tibet autonomy, not independence.
* Tibet needs China's help to modernize.
Tibet has been a part of China for 800 years. You can argue all you want, but that's just the FACT.
