  • Bryan Rulez!!!

  • it is anthem....

  • I love it so much! I don't care who was playing bass I just thinkit was a perfect example of someone playing bass well....

  • I love it so much!

  • Love this man's voice love this man's music

  • @celje66 I agree I just love bryan ferry....he trancends all boundaries in relation to age

  • Miami Vice.

  • I want Phil Manzanera's K-scope glasses!

  • brilliant.

  • It's Tibbs in this video. He's still alive and you can see other pics of him for comparison.

  • just after reading all the comments....so is it spenner in the video or is it tibbs?

  • Am just after reading all the comments...so is it phil spenner in the video??

  • @sarbur1 yes i got the name wrong!

  • i wish i was as cool as bryan ferry

  • I think we all in agreement that Jerry Hall must have been smokin' crack when she left Bryan Ferry. Bryan Ferry's music makes a woman feel like a goddess, and JH to leave him for "get no satisfaction" Mick, something wrong with her.

  • So Jerry left Ferry for Jagger. Meh, Bryan's better off without the "Pout of Texas" dangling off his arm and leaching off his wallet, anyway.

  • Jerry Hall was a golddigga !

  • Nothing lasts forever. So true. God Bless Bryan and company.

  • I just love this bass........where has bass guitar disappeared to ?????

  • @sarbur1 .......that bass player died only a few years after this video....he was only about 42

  • @Aussiephil99 there you go never knew thanks....I appreciate him more now!

  • @sarbur1 ....his name was Alan Spenner...he had a heart attack

  • @Aussiephil99 That sure looks like Gary Tibbs to me. It's true that Alan Spenner died, in '91 I think, and he's credited for this song, but that looks like Tibbs in this video. They were both with Roxy at the same time for a while before Tibbs left for Adam & the Ants.

  • @fishhateme14 ....wikipaedia (unreliable i know)....says Spenner played on this specific track....that's all i know. I could be wrong.

  • @Aussiephil99 ya there's a hazy period there around '80 when Tibbs was playing and Spenner was doing some studio stuff for Roxy. If you watch the live version of 'Oh Yeah' you'll see Tibbs playing bass there too, then when he left in '81, Spenner took over.

  • @Aussiephil99 yes checked him out on Wikipedia...wasn't he very young to die of a heart attack? Roxy Music have had a number of bass players over the years I understand

  • QUEL CHARME FOU

  • Nice synth.

  • Love that - Ferry on his keyboards at the end, two coffees and a ciggy steaming/smoking away! Great song - classic!

  • That bassline is just fantastic :-D

  • @PeteGeeza86 right on man. I wish Gary Tibbs had stayed with Roxy, I thought he was a good fit.

  • Love Roxy Music...... this song reminds me of Ashes to Ashes series 1, can't believe it wasn't on the Soundtrack x

  • Das ist das Schönste...meine Augen verkleinern sich...und ich bin außer mir...nein, ich habe nichts genommen, aber diese Stimme und der Sound ist unglaublich und das schon so lange es dieses Lied gibt und ich alt bin....

  • they dont make songs like they used too, back then u had to work hard to get into the charts,,now u do some crap show like xfactor,or some other bullshit

  • @funwilly And autotune, don't forget how much autotune has royally screwed up everything.

  • ¡Excelente clásico de Roxy Music!

    Excellent classic from Roxy Music!

  • Me fasinaa........ Beautifull...

  • How music should be, all the time

  • Q banda!!! Caray q s buena!

  • gorgious!!

  • I am so glad I'm as old as I am, and have had 29 years of listening to this song.

  • love the disco-beat Roxy era!!

  • Remember I was here.Thai

  • Loverly video!~

  • I love this song! Heard it the first time on the movie Times Square.

  • I must have been 13 and just starting to realise that there was something like style and taste and class. Seeing this video taught me that a. I loved roaring saxophones b. smoking was soooo cool, and c. Bryan Ferry was the man of my dreams. Oh happy times!

  • The way he just fucks off smoking his cigarette leaving the band behind - now that's cool.

  • MIck Jagger's got nothing on Bryan Ferry when it comes to charisma. Jerry Hall must've been out of her mind.

  • @kristy2769 couldn't agree with you more! Bryan is much more charming and sexy too than Mick Jagger. Silly girl lol

  • @kristy2769 She was just a fame money grubber...

  • @kristy2769 -- yeah, you're right.

In younger years I enjoyed an 'out of mind' or two.

    They was sure good too!

  • @kristy2769 whos mick jagger

  • These guys remind me of Toto- great musicians, great sound, but not quite achieving "superstar" status. But those who appreciate great pop music know them well and enjoy all their songs

  • @Roggiedodgie Roxy Music was the inspiration for a lot of bands. Toto, in same way was most commercial I think. Both greats bands.

  • did Paul Carrack do any work on this song at all? I'm sure he was in the band at this time?

  • every time I hear it I remember the first chapter of "ashes to ashes".

    Brilliant!!!!!!!!! Roxy Music rocks!!!!!!

  • this and over you and dance away the best at there best

  • I´m looking forward to see Roxy Music at September, 1st in Bonn (Germany). They are simply the best...

  • @Frildo78 original lineup? r u kidding me?

  • @Roggiedodgie: original lineup ? No, only Ferry, Manzanera, Mackay and Thompson. It was a brilliant concert !

  • I remember seeing them on late night American TV back in the 70's with Eno on keys. They did "Virginia Plain" and my life was never the same again.

  • 'Same old Scene' is the latest song in the Roxy Music catalog that I consider one of my favorites. I think that most of their best work was done from the first album up until the fourth (Country Life)Siren is a good album too, though not as good as the first four.It is however still better than the three albums which came after in my opinion. To me they lost their edge on those later albums.

  • Totally Awesome.. :)

  • can't get this out of my head... Mr Cool... perfect for any decade

  • Spot on ......... proper music

  • @ailination Unlike about 95% of today's "artists"

  • Fantastic song. Today's music simply hasn't that kind of quality anymore.

  • G.F.S.. I miss this band

  • @festusmcgee They're touring next year (original line-up, minus Eno).

  • @diskochimp

They're actually touring this year. Doing Bestival in UK and Electric Picnic in Ireland.

  • One of my fave Roxy Music songs! Loveeeee the music! <3

  • fuckin magic

  • @maryann60004 Thank you very much.I'm very happy♪(^-^)

  • There wasn't much that was cool in the 80s. Apart from Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music.

  • nice, amazing sound and video. congratulations. thankx for sharing

  • A song is like the ddrug...

  • encora,,,encora

  • Why doesnt music sound like this anymore..... we have to put up JLS and the like, why why why why why is the music out there so shite now ???????????

  • @Tagora2600 I hear you. Roxy Music were so sophisticated and sexy - we'll never hear the like again. Like all good music, it was made years ago. Apart from a few bands out there trying something new, it all sucks. Terribly.

  • ah the good old days!! :-) nothing really does last forever does it?

  • No hay en todo el universo mejor canción que esta.

  • such good times!!!. One of my favourite Brian Ferry songs! brilliant!!! thanks for posting

  • this has been one of my favorite songs since 1980 I guess. I never saw this video though. so sparkly and cokey. you can almost smell the coke, like in Grace Jones's stuff.

  • First heard it on Ashes to Ashes and i love it!!!

  • DENGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!

This song hit me in the heart then and still does!

    BRILLIANT! Music of the soul.

  • Sooooo eighties, but still soooo good!!!

  • absolutely love this song

  • I like Roxy music but I get sad when I hear em cuz my late auntie loved em and played their stuff all the time!''Nothing lasts forever'',ah I know it!

  • Best song ever!!!

  • @fingersin absolutely

  • Brian Ferry the King of smooth.

  • This is so very Galex...

  • This is some of Roxy Music's finest work. I loved the ending to the first ever episode of Ashes To Ashes, with Same Old Scene played over the top.

  • bass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song was also featured on the cult classic soundtrack,"Times Square" with Robin Johnson,Suzi Quatro,The Ramones,Robin Gibb,Lou Reed,Desmond Child & Rouge etc..

  • class man

  • yes absolutely excellent song + great band

  • nothing lasts for ever only love in my hearts and souls.Thank you for sharing.

  • Who needs a HoT Tub Time Machine when Roxy Music is a click away to the awesome past.

  • This is so fabulous. Why do people say that 80s music was bad ? There was so much really great music in Britain then. LOVE Brian Ferry

  • @caradino1 Those are the people who have no taste, who don't realize that the '80s gave us gems like this song, "Avalon", "More Than This", etc

  • They were so damn great! So overlooked and underrated. Their influence is unmeasurable.

  • Every time I take out my 1982 Delorean for a drive, I Blast "Flesh and blood" from the stereo. I'm not Kidding. Heaven.

  • @mattnbc00 The last three Roxy Music albums are condusive to sports cars.... excellent choice... I blast Roxy all the time. All I need is the fancy sports car to sweeten the experience.

  • may i have a chance to live again 80's and 90's..?... god ..may i?

  • i prefer their 2 albums with eno more, but they never lost their talent.... a great pop song! :D Gotta love Bryan Ferry's singing.

  • brilliant album!

  • wow 1980 time passes too quick, fantastic tune!!!!!

  • Roxy was a first and many followed. Bryan brought some sanity to rock music on cosmopolitan level.

  • the song is bang on..great voice

  • Quite superb...thx for this

  • would still be a hit today

  • Haunting - a classic. Loved this from the moment I first heard it. Thank you for posting.

  • Looves this!!!! ;0}

  • great song,luv it!!!

  • I like their early stuff better, but this is fantastico in of itself.

  • i was 14 when this came out 30yrs ago good god slow down world i wanna get off wheres the time gone yikes xx

  • @annahathis1

yeah, it's quite obvious, the more I listen to Roxy the more I see where DD come from...and what a great influence; I'm so amazed by Ferry's style.

  • Roxy music is absolutely littered with brilliant musicians past and presant, just look at this track, Phil Manzanerra is one of the greatest lead guitarists in the world and then Gary Tibbs on bass he went on to Adam and the Ants ofcourse, all brill and Brian Ferry is just cooler than a really cool thing thats just won a really cool contest.

  • Love their sound! And if they influenced Duran Duran, I love it even more

  • @tahhana86

Of course they influenced DD, and lots of other 80's bands eg HUMAN LEAGUE, HEAVEN 17 etc. And earlier times they influenced many punk bands eg SEX PISTOLS SIOUSIE & THE BANSHEES etc. They were glam and arty and punk before anyone else was.

  • super geil

  • Way underrated band...

  • @essertpitay

underrated band , do you know the history of roxy music, probably the most influencial music along with Bowie for all decent bands since the 70s., Yes underated they should have been massive but they are not underated for respect in real music terms

  • @ajp55a I am sure the band would have liked to be "rated" more commercially...

  • @essertpitay totally agree

  • brilliant song from a brilliant band.

  • Totally agree with you!

  • rip alan spenner you are my hero

  • All that passive smoking in the studio must have killed him... :(

  • john taylor bass sound borrowed from roxy..

  • fucking ace...the best Roxy track by miles...this mob invented new romantic music in about 1975!

  • I agree, but I was too young at the time to realise it. I didnt really discover RM until Duran Duran said they were their inspiration.

  • he is pl;aying a fretless bass the guys name is alan spinner and he died in 1990 sadly

  • Heard this song on and on again in the 80-ies....love the fags in the video...:-))those were the days(Even though I never smoked in all my life)

  • ill smoke one for you my english freind.

  • The Glimmers's intro track on their Fabric live mix amazing

  • Yes It was Times Square, a rare hard to get, but very good movie...

  • thks Goingbeach if memory serves me correct did this film have something to do with a girl?sorry iam a little vague with my description........cheers anyways........peace

  • The movie is about these 2 girls, 1 is radical and one is a little geeky, and they make a band called the sleeze sisters, they wear trash bags as dresses. That's all I can remember b-cuz I haven't seen this movie in a long time:)

  • @Goingbeach thks very much.....so i was on the right lines....cheers again.......peace.

  • that soundtrack was the best thing ever! i loved that film, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tim curry was a great surprise!

  • Bryan has it all. im better lookin but its nothing without the cool. bryan has it all. coool, cool, coool!

  • "Flesh and Blood" was not one of Roxy Music's best albums (that would be their next, "Avalon"). However, this is still a terrific song. Love seeing Bryan Ferry in that yellow leather jacket and Phil Manzanera in those bug-eyed glasses. And I'm not too sure but I think that's Gary Tibbs on the bass, before joining Adam and the Ants. Love it when the video fades to white and then re-emerges with Bryan still playing the keys.

  • That's Alan Spenner on bass. He did session work on Avalon, too, and performed live with them during those years. Sadly, he died in 1991 of a heart attack of all things.

  • I'm almost certain crh4878 , that, that is Gary Tibbs on Bass - pre Adam and the Ants.

  • In my opinion you will always be the King of Cool Bryan Ferry your Style and Music!

  • Jesus Brian Ferry was king of cool>The brits just excell at music and coolness>Thats probably coz theyre rock hard and da best!

  • one of my best Roxy tracks does anyone remember what film this track was in??

  • It wasn't in a film, well it might have been but it was definitely in Ashes to Ashes at the end of the first episode.

  • This is track #3 from the album FLESH & BLOOD.
