@csearles04 Basically you breathe into your belly (you don't physically breathe into your belly but that's the mental image I was taught by my teacher and it works), forming a basis from which you push. Try breathing in and image the air goes all the way down into your belly. If your belly goes outward while you do this then you're basically doing it right. Then speak a "p" and imagine pushing the air out from down below, just enough to produce the "p". Your belly should...

It's hard to explain, but the rule of the thumb is: If it hurts or you get a sore throat really quickly it's wrong. dude i totally understand what you mean about learning to scream from korn . . . i "grew out" of korn when i was about ten but the song twist is how i learned to tighten my throat for death metal growls . . . plus losing my voice in bootcamp helped alot i still had to be loud but couldnt "yell" so i start more of like a black metal screaming . . . lol my drill instructors loved that

@breaststroker25 thanks man, this was a rockband mic though, lil bit of reverb i added afterwards made it sounds pretty good, i'd recomend a sure mic, sure sm58, those cost under $100 :)

Don't like your lows. It could be my perception of sound quality but they seem to lack the control and power that your highs and mids have.
If I'm right, then I have the exact opposite problem: I've perfected every sort of low, my mids are good but my highs are inconsistent. I suggest using a different technique for your lows, as using a variety, myself, has helped me explore my range a lot better.

@noxy4 Do you open up your throat? Define yelling. When I scream, I completely open up, because if you close up real hard on your throat, you can't let your chest and your diaphragm do all the work, and all the strain goes on your vocals cords instead of the stronger parts of your body.

Hmm I still don't get the highs :). I am able to do growls for some time, but for the fry scream, i just can't find the tehnique. I watched several "tutorials" on youtube, but in vain, i guess there must be something more that i should know. If you can give any other tips about high pitched screams I am all ears, as I said at begining, I'm able to do what the lead singer from Opeth does, but that's all :).

hey man, you sound amazing btw. when you first started did you have a bit of a soar throat? not the amaount of pain that it hurt to talk and swallow but it felt a bit raw?

@bishyGloucester yes that is normal for when ure doing it wrong too i'm learning and i found out that if u bring it from ure stomach it wont hurt as bad. the f'd up throat really hurts though or well not really hurt just a funny feeling

yo how do you get ur highs higher? i can get like chelsea grin high but only with just chords no diaphram and ik thats the wrong techinique any body who knows what they are talkin bout have ideas? ive been screaming ina band for bout a year so yes ik diaphram, mouth shape and raise my box but like... i want CG highs with proper technique

I admit that I push mainly with my throat for deathgrind gutturals and black metal shrieks, when I try to push with the diaphragm rather than my throat the sound is more like thrash vocals than anything else

Hmm I still don't get the highs :). I am able to do growls for some time, but for the fry scream, i just can't find the tehnique. I watched several "tutorials" on youtube, but in vain, i guess there must be something more that i should know. If you can give any other tips about high pitched screams I am all ears, as I said at begining, I'm able to do what the lead singer from Opeth does, but that's all :).
Hope you can give me an advice.

Hahaha, you make it look so easy :P I've practiced through the years of metal I've listened to and i found that listening to Detkloks Nathan Exlposion massivly helps
