Andre was whooping Fedor. Fedor's striking was pretty much nonexistent in that fight until that last punch. If you watch the video you could tell Fedor was about to go down.
Really don't believe in this glass jaw theory. I think Arlovski made one major mistake with the flying knee and Fedor punished him. I think 99% of fighters would have been knocked out by that punch. It's a shame his career has gone cold recently. He is one of the most talented strikers to ever fight MMA. He is the type of fighter that can make this sport mainstream. Top strikers are far more enjoyable to watch for the average fans.
The problem with his defense is his intincts when he gets hurt. Fighters should train to cover up/shell up and angle out if they are hurt. He tends to drop his hands, put his chin up, and retreat straight backwards when he gets clipped bad. That is just asking to get KO'd. He's got good footwork and power, but Roach really needs to work on his defense with him. I mean really drill and drill to get it to become second nature.

Even China, where 1/5 of all human race is living, has MMA competitions already, and they sell like hotcakes, they sell more than boxing matches.
So in the very near future MMA earnings will surpass Boxing earnings and as a result, top MMA fighters will be paid more than the greatest superstar or megastar boxer the boxing councils can offer. I don't have to prove anything. You will see it for yourself. Because it will happen in your lifetime. By then, you can turnbacktime and remember what i have said, but also by then, you can't turnbacktime to reverse the situation, MMA will eventually surpass boxing in every aspect.

Fedors gonna get hurt, the best skill in mma today is boxing, simply because so many talented mma fighters are so severely lacking in their boxing and are open to crazy counter punching the entire time.

The point's sort of valid: whilst Arlovski's a phenomenal athlete and will no doubt have some great boxing to bring he still won't want it to go to the ground, or even stay static and trade punches (as Roach points out).

I wasn't aware that Arlovski who was being subbed by Nelson until that horrible stand up had better striking than Mirko. Fedor beat Mirko Cro Cop with a broken hand. Arlovski doesn't have much to offer really, handspeed and footwork are great, but when Fedor comes in swinging to get that throw to plant Arlovski on his ass, Arlovski is going to be done.

Do you practice martial arts? If you do, you must never have taken a hit from a 193cm russian sambo martial artist. I have taken hits like that, though I used gear, those hits left their marks. Just because you don't get bruised doesn't mean you've not been "damaged".

mma fighters are not earning anywhere near as much as top boxers. but the fights do generate as much money for the promoters.

Well considering that he was dominating the best guys in pride that were at there peaks back then and then they came to the UFC and dominated the best in the UFC, i think you should put down the crack pipe. The point's sort of valid: whilst Arlovski's a phenomenal athlete and will no doubt have some great boxing to bring he still won't want it to go to the ground, or even stay static and trade punches (as Roach points out).
However, there's nothing "sad" about losing to Sylvia. The guy's dangerous when he actually shows some agression.

I wasn't aware that Arlovski who was being subbed by Nelson until that horrible stand up had better striking than Mirko. Fedor beat Mirko Cro Cop with a broken hand. Arlovski doesn't have much to offer really, handspeed and footwork are great, but when Fedor comes in swinging to get that throw to plant Arlovski on his ass, Arlovski is going to be done.
