There's also a guy called "The Brain" locked inside the shelter. If a hostile NPC comes near, he walks throught the shelter to fight. You might often get a message reading "The Brain is unconscious". I always do.

P.S.: The Brain is supposed to be *SPOILERS* Dr. Calvert's voice during the mission "Hearing Voices" . Source is from The Vault wiki.

@hitman12 Just discovered this myself, then checked on youtube to see if anyone else had. You can't open it, however if you crouch and go into 3rd person and move the camera about it comes up with "pickpocket the brain" dosnt let you actuly do so however. hope this helps ;D

That's where the character that allows the Brain to have a voice in that area resides. The reason that it sometimes says 'The Brain is unconscious.' is because aa enemy sometimes spawns in there with his physical character.

i found that shelter and i found out that theres a woman inside the shelter called "the Brain"

@newLegend93 no you cant open it the only way to see inside is to remove the collision and you just go thru it and you'll be able the see whats inside of btw to remove the collision you need to use console commands which is "tcl"

i dont really get the point of the "preservation chambers" i mean really your supposed to stay there until the radiation mostly clears right? well its takes at least a decade(from what ive heard) so how did they plan that you bring in enough rations for a decade or longer? the people who hid in there just condemed themselves to a long and painful death of starvation/dehydration instead of a quick death by nukes

the game developer put the shelter there to run all of calverts voice when he conntacts you via mind control during "thought control" its strictly for gameplay reasons

the reason this bomb shelter is there is to house the NPC "The Brain".... if you have the PC version you can walk into the shelter using the script codes, and it's The Brain, but he has the appearance that he is using a stealth boy (can't see him very well)... there is a glitch in the game where a tribal will attack him, and you will constantly get the message "The Brain is unconscious"... the only way to fix this is on PC and use the script codes to get back there to kill the tribal

It's set in the future (about year 2200 i think but not sure) and the world is almost completely destroyed because of a nuclear war... the game is designed to seem like it is stuck in a 1950s culture/era... Just so i don't give anything away, i'm not going to tell anything about the storyline, but pretty much you wander what's referred to as the "Wasteland" helping/hurting people in order to find your dad... it sound lame but it actually is one of the best games out there...
