  • Dont listen to these people my princess parrot grinds all the time he mostly does it when he is sleepy pretty much when he is calmed and relaxed and steve tells me when he is thirsty he says water so thats how i know so the information on here is false you are correct it is when they are happy or relaxed or content

  • hes thirsty! if he acts like that hes so dry in his mouth, hes trying to water his mouth! my budgie did the same and i thought he was dry and he was! if he does that bring him water right away!!!! I MEAN IT!

  • @konni1231 They grind their beaks because they are happy and content. Do a web search for "why do lovebirds grind their beaks" This is exactly how false information is spread.

  • @konni1231

Dogs wag their tail, Cats purr, and Birds Grind their beak when happy.

    That is all.

  • @konni1231 there is a difference between this noise and the death noise... the noise they make when dying is when they breathe.... this is a normal noise they make when sleepy

  • adorable

  • My indian ringnecks are doing this every night :D

  • my budgies are doing this too. is it re-chewing or not?

  • @selami32 Nope, it's just content. Happy.

  • Hey is she mean now? I hear the girls get that way pas 6 months... ?

  • @llnnssccify She's not mean, but she is VERY territorial. Outside her cage, and items that she claims as her own, she's sweet as sugar still! Please see my newer videos and you will get what i mean lol. She's just got a really strong personality. At least that's what I tell myself ;)

  • so then its like equal to a cat purring?

  • my bird does that whenever I scratch his head.

  • so adorable!

  • what a chubby bird!

  • CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i!!!!!!!!

  • BEAK MUNCH!

  • I never could understand why birds do that...That whole...Mouth crunchy thing. Made me kind of think that it was the equivalent to grinding teeth...

  • yeah it is pretty strange. It's a sign of the bird being very content. That's all I know.

  • @lostinvast you are a certified bird lover ! ^_^

  • @lostinvast Right! Its their way of saying "Im comfy". Its heart warming to have them doing it on your shoulder or while hiding in your shirt. x3

  • @lostinvast Thats good to know, cuz for the time that I had my baby green black mask lovebird he has been doing that around bed time. It it so adorable. He's still shy and I haven't been able to hold him yet.

  • @CaptainSelenewerewol How is it working out? Any progress with your bird?

  • @lostinvast Goin pretty well. Im working on DL at the moment away from home but before i left i was working on the power pause technique and i was able to get at least about two or three inches close to him. probably in about week I'll be able to touch him without him nipping at me.

  • @lostinvast part of this information comes from studying every aspect of the individual and how their actions similate to how they feel, ect. I think he is very content but think about why you would also move your mouth around that much

  • SO CUTE!!!!
