from what i read ..asbury park was a great place.. what caused it to fall into disperse.. i heard it was the race riots. ..what came from them.. its 1999-2010 and nothing came from them. If the race riots were supposed to be revolutionary why after 30 years is asbury still in shambles. my opinion..you should gave left it as it were. you can only blame the cause on its demise on who??? i heard great stories about asbury untill the riots. who's to blame??

That horrible comment I just read and the issue of segregation continuing to modern day reminds me of the concept of white privilege. Bradley, who saw to it his hotels had plenty of staff, but who also saw to it that that staff knew where they could and could not live and which section of the beach they were forbidden from setting foot on, was WHITE. And it was he, good Methodist that he was, who set Asbury Park on its course of self destruction.
