I'm not a hardcore fan of Sutherland (I'm a fan of all sopranos and sample them) but I do love her technique. She was tall, and had a commanding presence. She had a beautiful voice and her mastership of bel canto is astounding. Puritani was always a good opera for her voice.

what an exciting piece sung to her grandson. just kidding. we will never see the likes of her again. how fortunate that we lived through her prime. I would rather listen to her at 60 then anyone today. as much as i love gruberova and devia, there is only one sutherland.
