I just wanted to let everybody know that the graphics card for the xbox 720 has been announced. It will be almost identical to the Radeon HD 6670 . Thats 6 times more powerful than current gen, but its still pussy shit compared to even mid range graphics card of 2011. To give you an idea, this card is four to five times less powerful than the 560ti, perhaps the best high end graphics card to get the most bang out of your buck. It will also be just 20% stronger than Wii U, so now, wii is on par.
I think they guna cost around the same as ps3 do now. Sony said dat they learned theyre lesson from the launch of ps3. Believe it or not, they really lost a lot of money from that . And also microsoft said "if" they make a new console it will have to be in a reasonable price range. Im not sure what that is to them but i have a good feelin bout the prices

So they won't be too expensive. Wii U will be between $400 to $300.

console RAM and PC RAM is different. PCs need more RAM as they arent dedicated gaming platforms and need run a much wider variety of applications than consoles. 2-4 gigs of RAM would be overkill for consoles in reality. 1-3gigs is fine enough for PSQuad and VeXbox. Oh and the average person can only resolve 24fps and when games are 60fps that's not consistent. it's usually an average of 90+fps and then 30ish depending on what the gamer needs to render
Said it before, will continue saying it: I can care less if it's faster, prettier, etc, if the games ain't on point and you don't get much at launch, I'm not upgrading a damn thing. Especially if it's over $400, which it will be because dedicated devices always seem to run high. More than that is a no. As it stand now, games look good and run fine without a hardware upgrade so unless you price it right you will have a hard time making most people make that move unless they just crave the new.

Sounds like the PS4 will again be a better system than Xbox (720) but sounds like it can be $600+ EASY on release with all the proprietary tech 16-SPE cell processor and the maybe the HVD (Holographic Versatile Disc) formats that's multi-terabytes. It won't matter if Sony F's up the release again and allows Microsoft to get a lead in the market again.
The way I see the new ps4 being made is this it will have a app store like on a iPhone and you can download photos and games and ps3 accessories instead of buying them but if the ps4 is gonna have trophies you better be able to delete the trophies from the system. Rather than have to delete and start again. Also the ps4 price will start at usually £800 -£1000 depending on the GB size. Also you should be wireless aswell and HD. So all the games you get will be in stunning 720p or 1080p

Also they will most likely do away with game discs and operate much like PC's do now, with digital distribution (same way they release DLC). This way they completely get rid of the idea of "Use games" and can be their own retail store, rather than relying on stores like GameStop to stock their items. They will still probably have discs, but will make each disc unique and force people to buy new, rather than used.
The other day, my friends and I were talking about 120Hz@1440p monitors for our computers in the next couple of years, let alone 60Hz@1080p. I think console should be aiming higher for the next generation, as they get the parts cheaper than we do because they buy in bulk and we buy retail. After the last gen showed, it isn't in their interest to make new consoles, but to milk the older ones.

Alot of things can be better but these game developers nowadays make many games that are great graphically but GAMEPLAY is WACK. What ever happened to GAMEPLAY. The next consoles to come out arent going to excite me UNLESS The Game developers start making GREAT GAMES. Many of the greatest games came out years ago. Doom, Tomb Raider, Perfect Dark, GTA: Vice City, etc. Fuck 60 frames per second. Games need To FIRST AND FOREMOST HAVE GREAT GAMEPLAY and have intriguing storylines.

I paid $ 449.95 for the x-box 360 elite the first black one 120gb, when halo 3 first came out. Plaied it for a long time before the red ring killed it & I took it apart & brought it back to life. I would say I got my moneys worth out of it, even with the extra shit ya gotta pay for. map packs & what not. So if I pay $500 it better be off the chain. $600 i won't pay I don't give a fuck how good it is. 600 bucks is too much.
In this economic climate releasing a brand new console doesn't make any sort of business sense. Everyone is tightening their belt and for the average joe to spend a large proportion of a months wages on a new console is unlikely. You also have to consider where the 360 and PS3 are in their product life cycle, I can't be arsed to look it up but I'll imagine they are still selling in huge volumes so they aren't at the end of their life cycle for Microsoft and Sony respectively.

You people saying PC will be far ahead, well of course it will. Console hardware will always come from PC hardware. PC hardware must advance in order for consoles to advance. There is nothing wrong with that, it is just the natural order of things.
As for price, I'd say I would spend $600 or so comfortably. Hell people buy dumbass smartphones for more than that, never doubt the power of consumerism.

I got my ps3 60 gb when it first came out in summer 08 and I paid $800 plus tax so $900. Year and a half goes by and it breaks, it wouldn't read any of my games. I ended up buying the 120 gb ps3 slim for $299, Sony makes good products but god damn they cost so much
If the ps4, can run ps3 games, i would trade my ps3 in, in a heart beat no thought required. That would be the biggest selling point for me. I would pay 500-600 for a ps4, only if i could play my ps3 games on it. I don't think that's a high price considering how many hours i get out of it (over 2000 hours on MAG, 250 BF3, i think BFBC was 400 hours) that's not including offline games such as FF13 or Disgaea 3. i personally would prefer PC but i don't have the money nor inner geek to do it XD
I hope this generation lasts for a few more years, it's only been a year since I had my xbox, and at times like these I don't have money to spend, I know I'm willing to spend about $300-400 on the next gen consoles....

console RAM and PC RAM is different. PCs need more RAM as they arent dedicated gaming platforms and need run a much wider variety of applications than consoles. 2-4 gigs of RAM would be overkill for consoles in reality. 1-3gigs is fine enough for PSQuad and VeXbox. Oh and the average person can only resolve 24fps and when games are 60fps that's not consistent. it's usually an average of 90+fps and then 30ish depending on what the gamer needs to render

Said it before, will continue saying it: I can care less if it's faster, prettier, etc, if the games ain't on point and you don't get much at launch, I'm not upgrading a damn thing. Especially if it's over $400, which it will be because dedicated devices always seem to run high. More than that is a no. As it stand now, games look good and run fine without a hardware upgrade so unless you price it right you will have a hard time making most people make that move unless they just crave the new.

Sounds like the PS4 will again be a better system than Xbox (720) but sounds like it can be $600+ EASY on release with all the proprietary tech 16-SPE cell processor and the maybe the HVD (Holographic Versatile Disc) formats that's multi-terabytes. It won't matter if Sony F's up the release again and allows Microsoft to get a lead in the market again.

The way I see the new ps4 being made is this it will have a app store like on a iPhone and you can download photos and games and ps3 accessories instead of buying them but if the ps4 is gonna have trophies you better be able to delete the trophies from the system. Rather than have to delete and start again. Also the ps4 price will start at usually £800 -£1000 depending on the GB size. Also you should be wireless aswell and HD. So all the games you get will be in stunning 720p or 1080p

Also they will most likely do away with game discs and operate much like PC's do now, with digital distribution (same way they release DLC). This way they completely get rid of the idea of "Use games" and can be their own retail store, rather than relying on stores like GameStop to stock their items. They will still probably have discs, but will make each disc unique and force people to buy new, rather than used.

The other day, my friends and I were talking about 120Hz@1440p monitors for our computers in the next couple of years, let alone 60Hz@1080p. I think console should be aiming higher for the next generation, as they get the parts cheaper than we do because they buy in bulk and we buy retail. After the last gen showed, it isn't in their interest to make new consoles, but to milk the older ones.

Alot of things can be better but these game developers nowadays make many games that are great graphically but GAMEPLAY is WACK. What ever happened to GAMEPLAY. The next consoles to come out arent going to excite me UNLESS The Game developers start making GREAT GAMES. Many of the greatest games came out years ago. Doom, Tomb Raider, Perfect Dark, GTA: Vice City, etc. Fuck 60 frames per second. Games need To FIRST AND FOREMOST HAVE GREAT GAMEPLAY and have intriguing storylines.

When Gears Of War 1 released on the XBOX 360 back in 2006, there was no game that had that level of advancement.....Not PC or otherwise. Gears 1, for game development, was a TECHNICAL MARVEL.

I paid $ 449.95 for the x-box 360 elite the first black one 120gb, when halo 3 first came out. Plaied it for a long time before the red ring killed it & I took it apart & brought it back to life. In this economic climate releasing a brand new console doesn't make any sort of business sense. Everyone is tightening their belt and for the average joe to spend a large proportion of a months wages on a new console is unlikely. You also have to consider where the 360 and PS3 are in their product life cycle, I can't be arsed to look it up but I'll imagine they are still selling in huge volumes so they aren't at the end of their life cycle for Microsoft and Sony respectively.

You people saying PC will be far ahead, well of course it will. Console hardware will always come from PC hardware. PC hardware must advance in order for consoles to advance. There is nothing wrong with that, it is just the natural order of things.
As for price, I'd say I would spend $600 or so comfortably. Hell people buy dumbass smartphones for more than that, never doubt the power of consumerism.

I got my ps3 60 gb when it first came out in summer 08 and I paid $800 plus tax so $900. Year and a half goes by and it breaks, it wouldn't read any of my games. I ended up buying the 120 gb ps3 slim for $299, Sony makes good products but god damn they cost so much

If the ps4, can run ps3 games, i would trade my ps3 in, in a heart beat no thought required. That would be the biggest selling point for me. I would pay 500-600 for a ps4, only if i could play my ps3 games on it. I don't think that's a high price considering how many hours i get out of it (over 2000 hours on MAG, 250 BF3, i think BFBC was 400 hours) that's not including offline games such as FF13 or Disgaea 3. i personally would prefer PC but i don't have the money nor inner geek to do it XD
