  • Wow, almost 666,666 views.

    Love this song in Doomsday.

  • me too :)

    you bitch lol

  • This song unexpectedly started pouring in my ears whilst I was walking down Eversholt Road this morning. A pure moment of grace. The atmosphere densified, stuff connected and people were suddenly heading somewhere.

  • one of my favs

  • I need to start listening to Siouxsie again i miss her voice!!!!!

  • My excited sandals spasm in rays of celestial purity. Keith Vernon you are The Messiah, I weep openly at your temple of wisdom.

  • Siouxsie and the Banshees are the light

  • ya.. budgie

  • amazing song!

  • does that mean that i control the equator?.....

  • who's director?

    i love this song&video.

    the cat&siouxsie,big dram sounds,

    the colors,japanese shishimai?

    the running scenes,

    it's so cool!

  • Great song. COOl runninG

  • Could it get any better...? Juju will go down as one of the best albums ever! The sound is timeless, even if you're not into punk/goth. It simply does not "wear out". Fantastic.

  • I love it!!! ;)

  • Nice!

  • Ps Plan 9 Channel 7 is on my favourites.

  • yes Vivienne she's great

  • The Damned and Siouxsie were doing goth music before the word goth was even invented.Anybody who likes this and are unaware of the Damned check out Plan 9 Channel 7.Also the Damned believe it or not have just released a new album called So Who's Paranoid.Check it out because considering they are now over 50 it sounds fresh, the instrument playing is fantastic and they put a lot of modern bands to shame!

  • tell that to some moron i met who denies that siouxie and bauhaus were punk bands

  • Siouxsie and the Banshees were at the heart of the punk revolution and could be found at all the earliest gigs. That said they were the last to get it together as they couldnt get a record company for some time.Like the Damned there music evolved over time and carried on years after punk which is a sign of a very good band!

  • thank god some one understands

  • It' true and it' history... Siouxie was with an embryonic Banshees line up that included Sid Vicious at a gig at 100 club early on 1976 along side The Pistols the Clash the Damned and the Subway Sect, another great band almost forgotten now but highly inluential in all the post punk diramtions.... not to mention that the posse Siouxie was in, The Bromley Contigent were the core of the very firstPistols supporter ( maybe 12/15 people incliding Malcom ...)Siouxie rules.....

  • including malcome and vivienne westwood she is also awesome

  • No one can touch her! A one off unique Artist. Love you Siouxsie!

  • don't make them like that anymore

  • mmmmmmm This is great.

Drumming and vocals remind me of Sleater-Kinney.

  • Love their sound.

Come to visit our fashion gothic creation

on our channel, tnx to everybody. Love.

    Maison1900

  • uforikboi - Great coment ! I agree in 100000000000000000000000000%

  • my cousin is budgie,by all accounts they have split!!! cant get to the bottom of it yet where he is,calafornia or uk,and no im not bullshitting either, superb song.

  • It's hilarious when people call Green Day goth. You bring up Siouxsie and they look at you like you just suggested Madonna was emo...xP

  • LOL, fuckin EMO. EMO is gayer than my gothic ass in the early 90's. EMO is not goth, its bi-polar teenagers buying up crap music mass produced for that market. Stick to Sisters of Mercy or Love & Rockets kiddies. Or discover techno and move on. Fuck all the labels, goth, emo, candy kid. Just be a music snob and listen to Stereolab or Momus. Jesus Christ listen to some Kate Bush, Neko Case, or April March. Hey isnt that guy from Green Day bi? Brett Anderson from Suede is cuter.

  • Real emo's good. It's just this Escape the Fate Bullet for my Valentine shit that isn't.

  • Yes, it's just there isn't real emo around anymore. That was about 19 years ago, those are some people to put forth respect. But goth and punk will obviously be more dominant, to me anyways. Emo are "bi-polar" and "depressed" fags. *shurg*. There isn't any real music anymore these days. That's why I listen to late 70's and 80's such as Bauahus Sixousie, Einsturzende Neubauten, and Skinny Puppy.

  • superb comment my friend.

  • I typed too fast and messed up the grammar. But thanks.

  • I must say I HATE emo and I'M a bipolar teenager. EMO is dumb fucking kids pretending they have a mental illness.

  • ...rigtho.

  • Being Bi Polar is like being a genius stuck in a cage. Brilliant and a lot more unique than most people. A lot of great musicians and artists and philosophers were Bi Polar or Manic depressive. It is all about focusing in on the genius part. Being able to connect patterns no one else but a select few on earth might understand. And feeling every single emotion as you ride the highs and lows. I love my highs. But when I am low I want to die. EMO guys seem to effeminate even for a faggot like me.

  • empathising here. I think being bi polar puts us on another level, we recognise so much more. I can safely say having an exremely wide emotional scale helps me understand the severity of my flip switch.

Lots of great musicians are playing music from the very end of the emotional scale, and thankfully being bi polar allows us to stretch further and undertand just that little bit extra.

  • That was directed at uforikboi, respectfully, btw.

  • why do they not make good music videos anymore like this.damn.oh well.ljkhlkjhjklsdghlkj

  • She is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • My mother used this song like a lullaby when I was a baby. Cool

  • running through the woods looks fun, lol.

    tight vid thanx for posting

  • Anyone know if this is Siouxsie's new stuff? Or is there a vid anywhere of some of her newer music?

  • This is from the 1981, Juju album.

Got to be my favourite of theirs, just crashes into you like an avalanche & doesn't let go.

  • One of their darker albums and my favourite.

  • Sweet fk, this is one of the greatest songs ever written. Awesome.

  • Did anyone see Siouxise on her tour earlier this year? It was fucking awe!

  • super goth! super siouxsie!

  • this song in doomsday when the dood gets cooked and eaten haha

  • gooddddddddd

  • Siouxsie on Ableton...Watch out Brittney.. This is the pure gypsy shit

  • compare todays cheese balls to yesterdays true class genius , u need to stick your head out of the sands , but then again if you absorbed and liked mcuh of the sand pit dirt , your brain is in the decomposition stages !!.

  • this song never gets old!!! i looove it!

  • Woman is fucking incredible.

  • Now this is cerebal! Loved it then love it now...

  • too bad it's out of sync

  • who tf is talking about pink theres is simply mo comparison to pink she is poppy pish and american not gothic punk like this in the early 80's more like sugar babes

  • Don't forget when your elders forget, to say their prayers. Take them by the legs, and throw them down the stairs.

  • I saw Siouxsie and the Banshees live a few times around 1980/81 and this song used to be the one that the crowd went absolutely berserk at. It made the wall of death at Lamb of God look like a tea party.

  • i envy you.

  • One of the best things I remember from the 80's! :) Amazing, thanks a lot! This was wacko way before PJ...

  • My toys all went beserk! It wasn't an illusion. Errr.....at least I don't fink it was!

  • siousxsie and the banshees were one of the original goth bands...who ever the idiot was that said she hates goths needs to learn what they are talking about

  • When i said Pink is a Punk, i was talking about her "personality"

    not her musical style.

  • Pink, is not punk, she is pop, like everyone says, she pretends to be punk so that people won't see her as the cheesey shitty popstar she is, Siouxsie is punk, the clash are punk, sex pistols are punk, pink, is pop. Get your fucking music facts right before you say Pink is punk, that is offensive to all true punk fans such as myself.

  • alright dude u may be a "true punk fan" but fuck u for calling her a cheesy popstar. she is amazing and artistic get over it.

  • hahaha check mr pink getting pissy over someone dissing the butch-o-matic lezbian piece of shit that is pink :D fuck u

  • I love this song, siouxie is like my role model, i love her!!! She is sooo awsome, who doesnt like her???? Uhhh... just a hint, FREAKS

  • siouxsie...she is a living legend, I'm glad I got to see her live

  • spellbinding...

  • I know about Pink She is a "punk" so there... but not in the "traditional punk-gothic music style However Siouxsie has been known to sample funk loops and the like...Pink is a little more R and B

  • plz dont talk about siouxsie being gothic plz dont she h8s goth

  • oh man i nearly died laughing her man

  • are you fucking kidding me

  • Goth before there was Goth

  • There's nothing wrong with the way I express myself. And don't try and take the high ground with me, you tanned little fucker.

  • Whoa! They're great! I'm glad that there are young artists like Miley Cyrus, who keep the fate ... folling their footsteps! Rock on!

  • Miley Cyrus isn't an "artist" by any means.

  • They are pretty of punk artists around following in Siouxie's footsteps you know... but they are NOT Avril, Miley or anyone like that. They are POP stars. Not saying there's anything wrong with pop stars, but PLEASE TRY to acknowledge them for what they are. The fact you seem to know practically no artists outside the MTV mainstream demonstrates just how much you know about punk.

  • Don't you assume to know my knowledge of music from a couple of posts. I could assume that you are a cunt but that would be wrong of me since I don't know you. And who are these other punk artist following Siouxie that you mention?

  • Well, you think Miley and Avril are "punk", which kind of just says it all. :P I'm not saying there's anything wrong with liking those singers (I love a bit of pop music myself!), but your musical knowledge has to be pretty limited to believe that they are punk. As for modern-day punk gals: Shirley Manson, Robots in Disguise, Peaches, Dolores O'Riordan... just off the top of my head. Look into indie or alternative music and you'll find heaps.

  • the fate of the band was to NOT follow anyone elses footsteps this is an original band and they did as they please wich makes the pretty punk in my opinion

  • Thanks for the answers guys ... but actually I was making an ironically post ... dosen't come across as I meant it, sorry you seriousnesses. ;-)

  • tohle je gothic, milánkové, album JU JU je gothické celé:)

  • What?!! Pink is the female version of Johnny Rotten! I think Siouxsie would be flattered with the comparison, whatever happened to sisters are doing it for themselves? The real punk fans will agree with me!! GGGGGOOOOOO SISTERS!!!

  • The real punk fans would probably come after you. :S

  • It's useless, she's the typical "MTV rebellious girl", or at least she's trying.

  • I'm quite allergic to stupidity and poseurs, so do you think you could do me a favor and stop leaving such nonsenses in here?

I would really like to enjoy this video without your foolishness.

  • Have you come on here to read the comments or "enjoy this video"? Because you can do one without doing the other and it won't offend your delicate sensibilities. And if you are quite allergic to stupidity you must be very ill after your last comment, I reccomend two disprin and pinks latest album to soothe your aching brain!

  • And I "recommend" you an English grammar book, since your tastes in music are so desperately bad at least you could express yourself correctly :].

  • One of my coolest songs ever imo

And gosh, Siouxsie was quite pretty wasn't she? What a stylish lass :)

  • How much did Robert Smith want to be Siouxsie?

    Love this song

  • it would be good song for a zombie film like 28 days or somthing

  • Who the hell is lumping Avril and Pink in here? They don't even have the right to have their names in here..Jesus..that is so disturbing that I even saw their names in here..yuck..

  • Glad to see someone feels the same way as I!

  • Are you serious?! Avril and Pink being compared to Siouxsie?! *crawls under bed to cry and never comes out*

  • absolute class wat a band !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the out of sync video. It makes the song more eerie.

  • This still sounds as good when siouxie sings it live now.

  • Goddamn. Listening to this is one giant aural orgasm.

  • Classic, stands the test of time! Totally unique sound.

  • the clip is just something like a masterpiece of freaky pics !

  • awesome sounds at the beginning... 80's sounds are the best.

  • nice clip..!..never saw it!..Great!

  • Please do not lump Pink and Avril in with Siouxsie

  • Omigod. Thank you!

  • "It's so great that we've young female punks like pink and avril lavigne folling in their footsteps! Go sisters!!!"

I think I just threw up in my mouth.

  • 90s "alternative" goth halloween list? dig a little deeper.

  • Just light a joint, open your mind, and appreciate the vibe. :)

  • 80's u mean?

  • Love this song!

  • My fave Banshees song; such passion and foreboding!

  • ~Happy Halloween~

  • 31.10.08: "BOO!"

    (...Happy Halloween y'all.)

  • this is my second band and i am addicted to this song for some odd reason

  • Teenariffe,

Consider this my Halloween video list. :)

If you like Goth bands like Siouxsie, you'll love this one too, guaranteed:

    Sisters of Mercy - Dominion

    watch?v=qWvOHT0zfXY

Shot in the ancient sandrock carved castle of Petra, in Jordan.

    Nine Inch Nails - Hurt

    watch?v=uUc8help4tg

  • Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug

    watch?v=l0s5UOVsMDg

By the way, Trent's 'perfect drug' in the video is Absinth (70% wood alcohol), which is drunk after pouring it over a large sugar chrystal, to take away the bitter taste.

    A Perfect Circle - Judith

    watch?v=23eZMdixAuk

Just to break the trend, 'Temple Of The Dog' (Soundgarden) live at The Offramp Cafe in Seattle, 1990:

Temple Of The Dog - Say Hello To Heaven

    watch?v=69PL3GLXIDE

  • this song.. is weird.. but charmed.. i love it..

  • Lovely Siouxsie! Its hard to believe this was 27yrs ago!!!

Blimey mate they were the fockin bestest band ever.

Though i think Melt is my all time fave. That is such a deep deep deep song. Beautiful.

  • Beautiful face!

  • The opening riff is (pretty smartly used on a track called 'where i'm from' by a british hip-hop artist (for want...) called Akala. Check it out. Support british music.

  • Following the footsteps of a rag doll dance, we are entranced, Spellbound Spellbound Spellbound... This was the sweet lullaby my mother used to sing when I was a baby boy hahaha... I LOVE IT!!!

  • Doesn't get any better.

  • The amount of talent which came out of the UK in the 60s & 70s still amazes me. What happened?

  • Britney spears came, the Jonas Brothers, and Hannah Montannah came.... And they have hypnotized simple minded people to like them.

  • Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Ultra-Capitalism, Ultra-Commercialism, The Free-Market, Money,Money,Money.

  • its why its all aimed at young kids now... young minds are easy to mold and more money in there pocket

  • though this was around when i was born and some of it before i can even see it... i think that hardcore Commercialism came into its element around 1998 (obviously it was around before) but after this date i feel that everythings 100% commercialised analised designed, speedily & cheaply produced. its whats strangling art.. the reason everything is ripped off an recycled now

  • robert smith on guitar !!

  • Sorry FN it is John McGeoch on this also a co writer, shortly after Mr Smith took over guitar duties on a temp basis and recorded a live and studio album.RIP MR McGoech.

  • *_*..

  • Quite possibly the best Siouxsie & The Banshees song ever, what a work of art. Amazing. [2]

  • Robert Smith wishes he was John McGeoch

  • Quite possibly the best Siouxsie & The Banshees song ever, what a work of art. Amazing.

  • this is awesome! i loved this in doomsday!!!

  • so what, may i ask, is this song about? is it just random crap, like so many songs, or does it have a meaning?

  • this song is about hamburger overdoses(switch on your loudspeakers!)

  • ahaa, i have to do a dance to this song in a play at school :|

  • Thats john mckeogh on guitar i think youll find, not robert smith.

  • Yes it was John McGeoch (Nigel Gray, producer)

  • John McGeoch and Geordie Walker are the two greatest unsung guitar heroes of the 80's.

  • Good work, sir! The drums sound phenomenal, as I've mentioned here before...

  • She was almost beautiful at the time

  • This band and this song got me into Gothic rock. But they definitely rise above the label. All of their 80's material is top notch.

  • The very first Siouxsie song I heard was "Cities In Dust". I was hooked instantly. I bought every album I could find. Im slowly replacing them on cd now.

Hong Kong Garden is on my ring tone.

  • always loved siouxsie and the gang...notice Robert Smith(Cure) is the guitarist..i think they nick named him big bob. early goths. used to like the girls who dressed and makeup like her.when this song came on they came out of the shadows to dance...those were the days....

  • Anyone remember the first Siouxsie song they heard?

My first Siouxsie song I remember hearing was Spellbound. I fell in love.

Please post your first Siouxsie song you heard, I would love to see how others got into Siouxsie?

  • This is my favorite song and my ringtone! Saw her earlier this year and she still puts younger women in the shade!!

  • yikes thanks, hon. time means?....... idiots never abound, i see xxxooo

  • hard to believe this is almost 30 years old. jeez. still awesome.

  • Mother of goth:P

  • Creator of the Goth-Genre...

  • what is this song about? it's quite freaky..

  • guess it's about being a bat or about gently incising your wrists on a full moon, like most songs from these bands

  • pfft, yeah right. wut a fucking loser. that is such a fucking sterotype. know your shit.

  • Nobody could've guessed, but I was actually kidding, I dig the song, the band.

  • weird, but kinda cool(1st time Ive listen 2 them)

  • Hey! Now there's some good ol' memories. Thanks for posting.

  • yeah .. my favourite video man ! She makes me a bone .. !! Great Music !!

  • :} magic ~
