Yeah great video. I have a hard time when someone finds out that my grabbing game is lacking. I prefer you know for 2 people to go head to head and duke it out and see who wins, but then they grab and I'm like F***. lol. My hardest part is when I have pressure on me and the mix ups with grabs. I'm a rush down Gouken, because Gouken's poking game is lacking so I try to keep them on the defense. Any suggestions on wake ups and handling presser?

I just started learning Gouken today and I really love this character. I notice he can do alot of damage in that corner, but what kind of setups does he have to actually get a hit on someone in the corner?

I just picked up the game, instantly chose Gouken... This video helped me a lot, but Ryu seems to rape me, anyone got any advice for that matchup? (also Yun and Fei, but those two were already addressed)

@MrPolterghost my advice would be to move out of ryu's shoryuken range so he would go for his hadouken meaning u can bypass it and land some hits with the senkugoshoha. but if you do the EX version, you can follow it up with a heavy or medium hadouken and then finish it with and ultra. :)

(again, I'm very new to the game so there's probably something ridiculously basic that I'm missing... Cause I get hit with this 100% of the time -.-)

@MrPolterghost um well i play as gouken all the time so when someone knocks me down and is charging up their focus, i either jump and then attack OR as soon as you get up do a tatsumaki gorasen. Doin this usually works for me.

@MrPolterghost Ryu has so many variations on his attacks and a solid defence. I usually like to keep him at distance with zoning fireballs as gouken can be stunned quite easily with a series of throws then a strong combo after. Simple combo's work best against Ryu so CLP+CMP+MP/LP Fireball is a sound deterant or even easier CLK+CHK catches most Ryu's out cause they don't see the sweep coming. Other than mix up your demon flip throws/kicks and learn ryu's hitbox combos so you can counter/reverse.

Hey Viper. Great Video However, I just can't get Gouken's basic combo. I know it's Heavy Punch => Hard Senkugoshoha. But I just can't get it to connect. I'd like to think that I'm not retarded, since I can get all of Ken's Dragon Punch combos to hit nicely.

Please help me out, anyone! Thanks! Give me some input tips or whatever.

@davvvvvvvid standing heavy punch -> cancel very fast -> heavy palm. It should work on all characters. But if you use crouch fierce, it may not connect.

@viperRX Thanks for the great tutorial,just learning gouken myself,very helpful,you probably know this but it's not in the tutorial,i found that you can instant air tatsu with gouken by doing the tatsu input then holding up forward and pressing the button as soon as his feet leave the floor,this way you can hit small characters like dan with an air tatsu,please let me know if everyone knows this,thanks.

I use gouken too, but i have trouble doing one of my setups, I do demon flip - grab, and then air tatsu, it does a cross up but I find it extremely difficult to do it quickly, any tips? :/

5:42 when you talking about the Goukens close F.p acting as an anti air it resets the opponent into a standing position which allows you to follow up with the Demon Flip into his Grab. which is what you'd normally do in that situation Because must of the time the opponent can't react fast enough to countering a reset as good as that .

How do you do a countering crouch tech?

@yes4me when your opponent do crouch tech, they will stick a limb out. Then you choose low or mid Kongoshin (reverse dragon punch motion) to counter their crouch tech.

@shinSUREYOUCAN You can't do anything after two standing mp punches. Both mp's will connect but you won't be able to connect anything after that. Gouken is a very strange character with many random things lol. I use the double mp then down mp buffering mk/hk gf for more pressure.
